Saturn & Pluto In Capricorn: Depth Of Character

Under CapricornThere is a lot of information out there about how brutally hard Pluto in Capricorn is, never mind when Saturn comes along and gets involved. People are suffering. But there is another side to this.

I have that wee bit of Libra in my chart. I’m compelled to try to balance the information on this topic so here goes…

It’s well and widely known that hardship builds character. People who lack character are rarely desirable. So lets say you’re a shallow person.ย The Saturn Pluto conjunction in Capricorn offers everyone a chance to overcome their shallowness.

If you want to know how important this is, click to read the list of synonyms for the word.ย ย It’s not a quality a person would want to maintain.

If you need help with this transit, by all means, check out my workshop – Get Real With Saturn In Capricorn.ย  It’s a small price to pay for something that will benefit you, every day for the rest of your life.

Have you become a deeper character under these transits? Or are you merely oppressed?

Some people are shallow because they haven’t been through enough hardship. I’m not saying they should stay in hardship, but some hardship will make a person less judgmental of others, at least.

    1. Interesting. Yes. Normal life comes with trials and frustrations, at the very least. No one will escape hardships and the best you might do is learn from them, about yourself and others.

  2. I love that you linked to the thesaurus. Synonyms help to give this more depth. And as a gut check, some words resonate more than others at certain times…

  3. Saturn in fourth in my natal chart and Pluto conjunct my moon in eighth; through their challenges has most certainly contributed to my character of substance/strength. I see some people fall to pieces because itโ€™s raining and they have clothes on the clothes line..lol. Harden up. A day not in hospital is a beautiful day ?.

  4. I think Ive become a deeper character. But I thought I was before lol. Which tells me that its relative, and I probably (most likely….definitely) have a lot of room for improvement.

As far as hardship, I guess its what you make of it. I think it can, at best, bring self awareness, and at worst, fortify a personal story of victimhood. Some peoples desire for empowerment is more crystallized than others.

I’m just now learning about planets and things and don’t even know why I responded to the original discussion here I lived both ends of the Spectrum I’ve had my share of hardships for sure and beaten down so far I never thought I’d get back up but I always do. Just tell a handful of sayings and behaviors that my mother taught me keeps me optimistic and pushing forward I have a very small cell phone Google likes to correct my voice to text in its own way sometimes very few of the people that I need or actually living the life they would choose if they were given any choice. Most people want more very few want less myself I just want enough. Things are not good right now but I know this too shall pass. There’s just so many different ways to look at things so many questions my brain spins sometimes I think the saying that life is wasted on the young is parsley true because I didn’t want to learn anything until I was older no I feel like I’m running out of time before I can learn as much as I want to funny thing life

I have a very Plutonian chart and appreciate the power of Pluto to assist us align with our higher self. Pluto has been in my first house since 2008 when the stock market crashed and my youngest daughter died unexpectedly at the age of 29. Pluto then went over my Chiron back and forth to heal my Chiron issues that came in with me-what a relief. Then it sat on my Moon on the grand cross for a couple of years and unearthed so much more than what would be believed. I honor Pluto as support to purify us and kick the ass of our ego to align with our highest truth and love. Saturn is helping me restructure myself, my work, and my life. It has not been easy for sure and yet knowing and working with the planets and cycles is best.

In my 11th house of hopes and dreams, this conjunction feels ultra oppressive. I’ve always lived life maturely as I could with the occasional slip but this transit is heavy! Even the social networks are full of pain and regrets shared. Life is robotic and repetitive. I need some fresh perspective.

The conjunction is my 11th too. I identify with your observations, itโ€™s difficult even to find an aspirational dream, virtually impossible to remember the ones from sleep. Heavy energy, narrow perameters, an underlying sense of futility. Not what I hoped for as Jupiter exactly conjunct my MC today! Matt

      1. Transit is in my 11th as well, where my venus, Jupiter, node and Mercury reside. It has been very challenging at times to maintain my hopes, dreams and wishes. Optimism has decreased and similar to you Matt. this is happening when transitting jolly Jupiter in 10th. I also relate to James expression of hearing more about the darker aspects of life through socialisation. I try to listen and pay attention to any negative internal dialogue and then challenge and change those beliefs/thoughts to positive ones. Self administered CBT ?

  8. pluto in sag was a lot harder for me. of course, ask me again in a few months when i’m in the middle of my pluto square :/
