When Saturn leaves Virgo for Libra it crosses the horizon of a natural chart ending it’s transit of the 2nd quadrant and crossing the horizon which is significant. That Pluto has also just crossed an angle intensifies the effect as I’ve mentioned.
Pluto, now in the 4th quadrant is very slow moving and won’t wrap up there until 2065 so there is not much use thinking about it on a personal level but Saturn is a different story. The 28-29 year Saturn cycle can be viewed as a whole but also in 7 year chunks, where each quadrant represents a stage in the process as pictured.
Saturn crossing the horizon marks the end of the period of preparation for what can be seen as the final ascent to the pinnacle of a mountain. If you equate this to an actual climbing expedition, let’s say you are climbing Mount Everest, this would be the point where you have laid all the groundwork, have acclimated to the climate and so forth.
A smart climber would make one more equipment check here (Virgo detail) and also stop to reflect on the gains and growth over the last 7 years. The reason for this is to shore up confidence and renew your commitment to the project because after all you are trying to do something hard here, not easy.
I am very aligned with Saturn and in this process myself. For example, having just married, I am reflecting on what it took to get here. I am recalling the first email I sent to the soldier and the (almost 7 year) odyssey that led us to this point.
I am also thinking about the effort I have made around my family (4th), my creativity (5th) and just plain hard work and service (6th). I am very satisfied with the results of my sustained effort. Matter of fact I have found resolution to every problem I have at this stage save one – I have not been able to come to grips or to a place of peace around my daughter.
I have been told I never will and on some level I am sure this is true but I am also sure there is another level so I am working on this now. I have like… 2 days to do this but really I have a number of months.
I have a number of months because Saturn will revisit Virgo in 2010 but hopefully you get my point. Investment made in editing your thought processes and disciplining your mind will pay big dividends going forward.
Back to the mountain analogy, the level of preparation really does have a lot to say about who makes it to the top so I guess you just have to determine the level of your ambition to succeed because this right here is crunch time.
Elsa, I am ending my 3rd quadrant of Saturn (turning 21 in November) and feel more mature than ever! But I suspect I have much much more to learn.
Elsa, thank you for this post. I’m seeing a very important Saturn-related pattern in my life and it does require me to edit my thoughts. I have to learn to use my Saturn to support instead of oppress myself (as you said in another post). Also interesting because I’m starting to see how Saturn transits relate to major turning points in my life. There’s one coming up in June 2010 – here’s hoping it’s a change for the better!
Well Elsa. Hallo everyone:-) Saturns are as I know right now at 29 Virgo or 0 Libra. Well let you tell my story. This fall (autum in english) I have been thingking how this will will effect me with Saturns/Venus/mercury kon my IC at 0.30 Libra.
Well at this point the ASTROLOGER Nancy Fenn was correkt about my second Saturns/Venus-return at 23-24 Virgo when she sad (Well always curious about what other astrolgers saying)That I could expect a deep and serious relation after this crise…yes I have divorsed for the second time 3 years ago…suspicious about mans motives:-) NOW I think I have meet the number one:-) Ofcourse I “test him” pour soul…but he doesnt give on me thah easy…Well lets se what happends next with Saturn in Libra, I am a Libran with my sun at 5 D.

My experiece is that when Saturn goes throuh your “first quadrant” beetwen the 1-3 to fourth house (as it has with me two times in my life now..yes I am that old:-) is the most difficult times in life, beacuse you have to meet your self as you ARE m.m your karma that is (as whith the twelvth house (12 house) Not exatctly as the twelwes house, but, Its a time when you have to confront your “self” in a way and your surrondings..its not easy for me as a swedish woman to explain, I think Elsa, who is born with your language, can tell you better what I mean.-)
Thank you Karin.
You are so right in your words Elsa:-) I agree…

Your insight has givning me so mutch…thank you

Toni, Hallo there:-)…please reed about Saturns travel around the zodiak….its expleain so very mutch about abot Life circles…when about its going trough all the fourt quadrants:-) From 1-4, then 5-7 and so on…Its tells a lot about “patterns”in our lifes
I am just real nervous about this, not for me, but for my daughter, as Saturn will be transiting her 6th house for a very long time, and I know this house has to do with our health. Will also be transiting my 12th house – and my son is a Libra, so worried for him. Honestly, I am sick of worrying.
Elsa,
You mentioned reflecting on what’s happened in the 4th, 5th, and 6th houses (from the natural chart, right?). But would it be more important to reflect on the last three houses that Saturn has transited in our own chart? In other words, are we still climbing the (natural chart) mountain even if Saturn is actually descending on our natal chart?
Ummm…. can you tell I’m a Virgo? 🙂
StephB – addressed your question here.
Elsa- Thank you! or swear word that was good!
Saturn transit 2nd house. 6 planet Virgo Stelium. Obscurety. My life has faded away into obscurety.
This is very enlightening. The natural Saturn cycle seems to affect me deeply in a personal level too. Saturn isn’t my chart ruler, but it’s strong in my chart, and does sextile my early Cardinal Sun. Thinking about the past 7 years, they’ve really been one big – bigger so since this has been the first time I’ve experienced some passages – lesson in 4th, 5th and 6th house matters. There have been tough times, but mostly, it’s been enriching.
what will be the effects of saturn when it will enter my virgo sign again on april 2010 ? i hope it will not affect again my love life , please answer me ? I’m a virgo but my first concern to be happy is a good ending with my love . Saturn has made my life hard in this sector but work was great .. please ,let me know its effects in 2010 on virgo as they say it will not affect love but family separations or work separations ..
