New Moon in Virgo: September 9, 2018 – Effects By House

The new moon at 17 degrees Virgo takes place in the middle of the day on September 9th.  This is a potent new moon with a lot of potential.

I say that because the Sun and Moon are well supported by both Pluto in Capricorn and Jupiter in Scorpio.  Neptune opposes the pair.

The opposition from Neptune can be problematic but it can also be an enormous asset for anyone willing to put in the effort. I am deeply aware of the truth of what I’m saying. I can already feel this energy coming in and I can put it in simple terms for you.

If you try wish to avoid (Neptune) work and/or pitching in to help, this will be a waste.

If you work to transcend your complacency, you’re going to find yourself fortified in ways you can’t even fathom.

Look to be of service this month but better yet, look at the big picture and look at how serving this month might actually help you (and others) for years and years to come.  I am talking about what you do today, serving generations to come. It’s a true opportunity to have depth and reach and meaning in your life. Don’t be a slacker!

We set intentions ahead of a new moon. Here are some ideas, based on the house in your chart where the new moon falls.

New Moon in the 1st house –  Be the first one to volunteer to help. Lead the charge!
New Moon in the 2nd house – Donate hard goods. Brainstorm ways to raise money for those in need.
New Moon in the 3rd house – Help your neighbors.
New Moon in the 4th house – Clean and organize your home or help someone pull their home together.
New Moon in the 5th house –  Help out with children or in any creative arena.
New Moon in the 6th house – Help your co-workers.
New Moon in the 7th house – Pitch in to help your partner, business or otherwise. Fix relationships that have broken down.
New Moon in the 8th house – Be smart enough to step around the ditch. If you do get in there, it better be to help someone out.
New Moon in the 9th house – Work to reach higher ground / help others as you go.
New Moon the 10th house – Work ethic on display.
New Moon in the 11th house – Help organize in the friends / groups arena.
New Moon in the 12th house – Fix your addictions. Help others fix theirs.

Where does the new moon fall in your chart? What’s your intention?

New Moon in Virgo: September 9, 2018 – Effects By House — 22 Comments

  1. Thanks for posting – might have missed it. And the moon was just conjunct Neptune. And both are in opposition to my natal moon 15 Virgo. So the new moon on the 9th holds a lot of potential, especially considering the recent grand trine.

  2. The new moon will conjunct my Ascendant, square my Sagittarius sun and oppose my Pisces moon. I am setting my intentions already, I feel the powerful drawing.

  3. Now that you mention it, I’ve been feeling this odd feeling of forgiveness and cleansing…sounds like the Neptune influence. It will fall in my 7th house and I have no idea, if it plays out in any significant way.

  4. The NM will be conjunct my 7H Juno and Venus. That weekend, I will be helping my son and his wife (asteroid Juno – relationship) settle (Virgo) into their new home. I will also buy them a nice housewarming gift (Venus). Then, again, beginning a new personal relationship would be nice!

  5. New Moon in Virgo will be on the cusp of my 8th and 9th House I really like the sound of the intention you laid down for the 8th and 9th Houses. So my intention could be: “Setting out of the grave, reaching for higher ground and helping others as I go.” This spring and summer have given me real tastes for what that intention means; forgiveness and letting go of old resentments.

  6. It’ll be in my 12th house, and I, too, am already feeling it.
This is my first time that I have a real, serious intention for a New Moon… because, it makes real sense to me, now – gut level sense.
Gut sense has been forefront for me, lately.

  7. The new moon will be in my 5th house. It’s grandparents day down the block in the nursing home where my grandmother lives. I have a plan to get all 6 generations together for a picture on that day. It will be along side my Pluto at 12 degrees.
My grandmother just turned 93 and my great granddaughter will be 1 in October.

  8. Conjuct my natal Venus and within 5 degrees of my moon and natal grand trine in earth. 2018 has been one of the worst years of my life I feel long past due for something to work in my favor. I am hopeful for new job, I have a promising interview 9/5 which would be a lot of work but very statisfying and service oriented. I am hopeful

    • Well, I googled it and found this just around the corner:

So with the Sun and Moon coupled with a full lunar cycle to explore and experience this. Think Illumination. Study the house and watch any aspects the moon (and Sun) will make to each natal planet, house or critical points over the next month. Also, if you have access, check all your Natal planetary Midpoints; those may well reveal connections to other planet combinations you were unaware of.

  9. Hiya!
Thank you for this. It falls on my 2nd. What I have been planning now is helping my bf with administrating his biz. He’s an artist and so am I, but I’ve got business background that can be of good use for us now. We passed from living in different countries to living together (my new moon in Pisces was getting to Canada to br with him), and now to be a team, to work together truly. I decided to just take all his receipts and start doing what is needed. Even tho Id love to donate to those in need, Im broke. I feel like it’s time for us to dream again and bigger about our future.

  10. The New Moon will be right on my MC. Opposite Neptune and my IC.
I’m already helping my neighbour by setting up a huge, detailed table of all the incidents that have led to her being threatened about losing her home, hopefully the document will high-light the fact that she is not to blame for most of the things that happened. Her hearing is on the 6th.
On the other hand, there is Neptune on the IC. There is a leak in my roof which has been there for almost a year, though it’s partially patched up now. The body corporate are supposed to pay for the rest of the repairs. Will my home (my sole physical security) dissolve around me?
    Time will tell.
