New Moon in Cancer: June 23, 2017 – Effects By House

The new moon at two degrees Cancer takes place in the evening on June 23rd.  The recent new moons have been quite peaceful. You can see in the picture, this one is part of a stellium (that includes Mars).

On this note alone, you can expect the effects of this new moon to be emphasised. It won’t pass unnoticed!

The new moon will impact the area of life governed by the house where the new moon (and it’s compatriots) land. See below for details.  But beyond that, there is a Cardinal T-square in this chart. This will add some kick to this.

What’s a kick?

You can be kicked to your future. You can also have your teeth kicked down your throat. Sorry, but you know I’m right.  This is not a sky that screams SAFE. It screams “upset tummy” as far as I’m concerned.  The things is, your stomach can become queasy over good news as well as bad.

Here are details on the Cardinal T-square portion of this:

Here are ideas for setting your intention for the new moon, based on the house where it falls.

  • New Moon in the 1st house –  Assertive nurturing
  • New Moon in the 2nd house – Save money for a rainy day.
  • New Moon in the 3rd house –  Conversations with family. Call your mother!
  • New Moon in the 4th house –  Family bonding. Private reflection. Defend your home.
  • New Moon in the 5th house – Fun and art with children. Play frisbee and picnic lunch in the park with a date!
  • New Moon in the 6th house – Nurture your work makes. Bring some comfort food to the job.
  • New Moon in the 7th house – Nurture your relationships.
  • New Moon in the 8th house – Family pathology. Aim to heal!
  • New Moon in the 9th house – Woman studies. Female saints or freedom fighters.
  • New Moon  the 10th house – Set a good example as a parent.
  • New Moon in the 11th house – Cook for friends.
  • New Moon in the 12th house – Contact with the ethereal – feed the poor, nurture the addicted or those otherwise imprisoned.

Where does the new moon fall in your chart? What’s your intention?

New Moon in Cancer: June 23, 2017 – Effects By House — 24 Comments

  1. In my fifth house (should be fun?) trine natal Uranus in scorpio in the eighth house (not so fun or unexpected fun?)

  2. OMG ! Exactly square my 10th house 2 degrees Aries Sun while Mars squares my Mars/Mercury
conjunction in Aries as well. The new moon is in my 12th and I frequently counsel troubled souls gratis being a retired therapist. I’ll certainly continue to do so as my intention, but I suspect aggressive ghosts popping up from my past or subconscious. Your take ? And wishing you continued good news and relief regarding your neck !

  3. First House conjunct natal Jupiter at 4 degrees. I also have Progressed Mars at 4 Cancer and Solar Return Moon at 4 Cancer. Freaky.

  4. The Cancer Sun/New Moon in the 5H will be exactly squaring my natal 2 degree Libra Sun in the 8H. Tr Mars will have entered my 6H. Maybe I’ll experience some unrest at a family picnic that weekend; clash of egos; my way isn’t the only way. For family peace, maybe it would be best to keep my lips zipped!

  5. A trine with 8th house Neptune (Asc ruler) in Scorpio and my Pisces Asc(exact) and a sextile to Pluto on the Desc. Hopefully some good news. I could use some!

  6. Hi Elsa, quick question re new moons that I haven’t been able to find an answer to – interested in your perspective. If one of the houses of your chart (let’s say the 6th) spans two signs, and you have one new moon early in the first sign that occupies the 6th, and then the next new moon is in the second sign (let’s say cancer), and falls a few degrees short of cusp of your 7th house, is it still technically a second 6th house new moon for you that year? ie even if the new moon that follows in leo is in your 8th house? Or is it really your 7th house new moon, since you otherwise aren’t going to get a 7th house new moon that year?
I don’t have Cancer on the 6th/7th, but am interested in your view as I have quite a few intercepted houses where this situation has arisen over the years.

    • I have intercepted houses too. So I try an answer: Why should you get a Seventh house New Moon instead of a second Sixth house New Moon? Only because you want it? Do you always get what you want?

      • That’s aggro projection to the max Falkor. Read again: did I say I wanted one? And where on earth do you get off with “always expect to get what I want??” You know NOTHING about me.

        • First, I think maybe you misinterpreted the first reply. I think the reply was not meant as criticism but maybe the poster’s command of English made it sound that way.
For me, I would look at which house 2 to 3 degrees Cancer fell (in your example this would be the 6th house.) But if the degree of the Cancer new moon was in the person’s 7th house then it would be a 7th house new moon. IMO.

  7. New moon in my 8th house – I hope for some blessings I´ve been having a terrible time this last year. I need a new job and good people around me.

  8. I´m a late cancer 25´so I hope the cardinal square won´t affect me that much feeling quite bruised now like I´ve been in battle..

  9. I have the new moon conjunct my natal moon in the 7th house opp neptune. Im planning to put my resignation in on this day. I often stay late at work as there is not enough allocated hours to finish the work and no room for flexibility on their part. This is an old problem that has seen many quit before me. I have been told that my work is excellent but they want me to do less. However, if i dont do it I will be brought up for poor work performance. This has impacted me and family way too much and Im glad I am going. I do feel sad that I will be leaving my work family though but my own family matter a lot more.
