August is here, bringing with it heat, Sun, and the end of the long, languid summer months. In fact, it feels like there’s hardly any summer left at all.
As a culture, we tend to be ahead of ourselves. We consume the newest media, are intrigued by the newest scandal, and transfixed by the newest Twitter outrage, and then, faster than we can even process, we’re off to the next thing. And this month is the perfect example.
Though the Sun is in Leo for most of the month, Venus and Mars are already in Virgo, and Mercury is soon to follow. We’re all fighting, loving, and thinking the Virgo way, with editing and work and planning. But all the while, the Sun is hanging on the beach, trying its best to remind us to find some time for joy.
When we add in that Uranus will be turning retrograde, it’s clear that while we can plan and work and make ourselves as busy as we want, we can’t make everything happen immediately even if we wanted to. Sometimes change happens on its own schedule. What’s more important is to figure out exactly what changes you want to see and why.
Luckily, the sky gives us another chance to think it over. With the Full Moon at 29 Aquarius on the 22nd, we all feel the urgency to take one more look, have one more party, one last hurrah.
This month gives us so much to work with. The key is to make sure you’re working toward your joy.
