Mars ingressed into Gemini in August last year. It’s remained in the sign all these months. You may be enjoying the mental stimulation but this transit has triggered anxiety for many.
The negative manifestiaons have been most pronounced during the periods when Mars clashed with Neptune in Pisces. This combination signifies confusion, gaslighting, and an inability to focus or settle. The news and other information has been inordinately disorganized and inconsistent. Full of, “you’ve got to be kidding me”. It’s not exactly good for your mental health!
We will have one last period like this, mid-March but what gets my attention is the major shift when Mars finally changes signs.
On March 25th, Mars will ingress into Cancer which would be no big deal if the sun, Mercury, Chiron and Jupiter were not in Mars-ruled Aries. These are CARDINAL signs. Mutable signs adapt to current conditions. Cardinal signs control conditions. I expect the transition to be notable.
If you’ve had sufficient “sea of misleading inside-out upside-down soupy everchanging facts and lies”, this may sound good to you. Whether it is good, remains to be seen.
Mars will clash with that stellium, see? I’m not sure anyone is in the mood (Cancer) to be pushed (Mars).
Are you looking forward to this change?ย Or not so much?
It may be more of the same for me. I have Mars currently transiting the seventh house and am experiencing lots of opposition from others. When it moves into Cancer it will oppose my Cap stellium….so more oppo I guess.
I’m riding out the last few degrees in my 11th house, and then it’s into my 12th we go, to conjunct my natal mars & oppose my Uranus. I like the part about Mars in Cancer taking control. Better than being stuck in a scary dream land.
My North Node is in Cancer 12th house (Placidus) with late degree Cancer ascendant. I really appreciate Elsa pointing out the lengthy Mars Gemini has increased anxiety. I have noticed anxiety the most acutely since August. I’m looking forward to Mars Cancer.
How many years does Mars take to travel through the zodiac? I’ve read that it spends about 2 years in each sign, but its time in Gemini will be less than a year?
Generally, Mars takes 2 years to go through all the signs, with approx 6 weeks in each and then a longer time in one sign per 2 year cycle. This time, that extended time is in Gemini.
I’ve noticed over the years that Gemini season leaves me feeling wrought. I have Mercury, SN and MC in Gemini, so it’s familiar energy but it’s better in small doses, short periods, a sprint. It creates a sense of splitting in the mind (the two, twins) and doubt, which over time can cause anxiety, uncertainty. So a longterm transit like this is very strange to experience but I’m sure the sense of division has a purpose in terms of reaching wholeness. Of course, it’s masculine air energy too. I have natal Mars in Cancer, it operates more intuitively and from the body, less mental. I prefer this but I think the shift from masculine to feminine energy will be felt very strongly by everyone (especially with Saturn entering Pisces at the same time). I think the cardinal squares will be energising, like a very strong Spring or awakening, an initiating energy.
“…like a very strong Spring or awakening, an initiating energy.”
I like this idea! ๐
If my BF quits his job it will conjunct his Sun in the 7th house on the end of March.
Can practically hear the ROAR from his person already ๐
So… I guess that’s a good thing about this transit. He has had Mars going back and forth in his 5th/6th house and for me, it’s my 4th/5th..
Things have been…. Interesting, these past months to be exact.
Mars is ruled by the Moon when in Cancer, so everytime the Moon changes sign during this period, my BF will be sure to feel it, as both his Sun and Mercury is in this sign.
It will probably be with both ups and downs since he has not yet found a new job opening before quitting.
But it’s also an important period of processing all that’s been happening during the time from 2022 till now.
During this period I have suffered from pains and a violent tennis elbow, which I am currently being treated for. It’s a real PITA, but also very Mars-Gemini-ish as the pain is linked to anger-driven stress and frustration at him being stuck … This time in my arm/elbow/joint (Natal Mars in Cap -> bones).
It has caused me no ends of irritation as well as delays in my own life. I have had to stop knitting.
I can’t say how much I am looking forward to Mars going into Cancer for sure!
Also, Gemini = hands/arms – my pains has expanded from the elbow to my wrist/hands.
OF COURSE it had to be a tennis elbow, what else could this be about LOL ๐
Buy rootbeeroil dot com, shake bottle well, and rub on your elbow. It heals connective tissue, ligaments, tendons. Tennis elbow, carpal tunnel, plantar fasciitis, neuritis- miracle healing. Very cheap, donโt get surgery.
Mars in โ๏ธ my 6th, anxiety about niggly health concerns.
And how about that Quincunx with Mars moving into Cancer and Pluto moving into Aquarius! Yikes, what a conundrum there. I am not looking forward to Mars being passive-agressive in Cancer, I prefer directness, so I know where I stand, good or bad. I just hope I’m not the one trying to be controlling, unless I can use it on myself!
The recent Mars action has been equal parts energizing and aggravating for me. I have a Gemini Mars on the IC natally, part of a Sun-Mars-Jupiter t-square. Throw in my Pisces ascendant and all this Mars rolling back and forth has been an experience! I’m optimistic about Mars moving forward. However, my early degree Cancer moon square Mercury advises some caution. Looking forward to Spring!
I like Cardinal energy for better or for worse, so YES! ๐
I have a Cardinal Venus (Capricorn) Mars will be opp it. My partner in life has Mars in Cancer. He is very defensive of his home and I assume this will increase.
Hi there, Elsa
Would you mind to explain how given that Aries and Cancer are both Cardinal signs which like to control, having Mars in Cancer and the Sun, Mercury, Chiron and Jupiter in Aries in mid April, 2013 is going to be difficult, please? “On March 25th, Mars will ingress into Cancer which would be no big deal if the sun, Mercury, Chiron and Jupiter were not in Mars-ruled Aries. These are CARDINAL signs. Mutable signs adapt to current conditions. Cardinal signs control conditions. I expect the transition to be notable”.
