Jupiter, Sagittarius, the 9th House and an Adventurous Spirit

I was talking to the soldier.  We have a strong Jupiter signatures in our charts.

“I don’t think there are two people on the planet that could do what we’re doing right now,” he said.

“What’s that?”

“Getting together the way we do.”

“I don’t understand.”

“You don’t see how unusual this is?” he asked.

“No. No, I have no idea what you mean.”

“Well I don’t know how you could have no idea this is unusual.”

“Well I don’t know. We’re getting together. People do it all the time.”

“Not like this.”

“Oh God, what do you mean?

“P, we’re meeting up in all these cities. We’re a 1000… we’re 1500 miles apart and we meet up with an hour’s notice. And we do it over and over and over again. You don’t think that’s odd or remarkable?”

“No, that hasn’t occurred to me. Why is it odd? What are we doing? We’re meeting because we want to. We want to meet so we do. Why is it strange? It’s not strange as far that I can see.”

“Well it is strange. No other two people would do this. They’d say this is too hard. It’s too much trouble.”

“Hmm. Well I’ll think about it but I’m telling you I don’t know what you mean.”

“People can’t do this,” he said. “ËœThey just don’t have our adventurous spirit, P.”

I laughed. “Oh that. Well yeah, I do like to go. Oh I see what you mean. You mean people want things to be delivered. Is that what you mean?”

“Yeah.”

“Oh, well I’m not like that. When I want something I go help myself. I hardly ever want anything but when I do I want it bad and I will definitely go wherever I have to go to get it. When you only want something every ten years or so, you can do this,” I said with a chortle. “In whatever case, it does seem normal to me. It’s just not queer at all but sitting down or lying around when you’re accessible would be very queer indeed. I’m going to roll every time.”

What’s Jupiter like in your chart?

  1. 7th house Jupiter in Cancer trining mercury, saturn, neptune, chiron and midheaven…sextiling venus, uranus and pluto, opposing ascendant, squaring sun and mars. IT TOUCHES EVERYTHING IN MY CHART!

  2. jupiter late in 1st, in scorpio, conjunct moon, opposite venus. i need to go new places, but i can settle for high-mindedness, reading/learning, and the internet most of the time. i loved exploring places, especially woods and big houses, when i was a kid. then, i explored people. also have planets in sagittarius and my sun/mercury in my 9th house, so… i’ve got a little extra bit of that kind of energy. travelling half the country for five minutes of a person’s time sounds like my idea of fun; it makes for a good story. 😉

  3. Jupiter in Leo in the 9th trine Aries Sun, Mercury, Saturn. I’ve had phases in my life where I was very adventurous and stretches where I wasn’t at all. But throughout my life, I’ve consistently traveled in my mind…

  4. Had to stop & think about this one because I’ve been very settled for the past 17 yrs. But before that, yeah, I was adventurous – especially when it came to spending time with someone i was interested in. But my adventures always ended in “lessons” and I don’t enjoy traveling long distance anymore. Jupiter in Scorpio in the 12th square to Saturn in the 9th.

  5. Jupiter in Pisces in 9th – I like to go on adventures, but often they are philosophical adventures in my mind. I like physical traveling, too, but sometimes time and/or money precludes that. I do notice that I get along easily with and often meet international folk, even in my own neck of the woods.

  6. Sag Sun trine Jupiter in Aries – oh golly the travel stories I could tell…
As a kid my Dad did long weekend trips in the car (he is a sag too). Then later Dad moved to a different capital city where I flew to stay with him on every school holidays for 10 years. No frequent flyer points in those days. Once I had my own car at 18 years old (volkswagon beetle)distance was no object as my friends also were in same car culture – we would travel 12 hours on Friday nights to next Capital city, party Sat night, drive 12 hours home for work on Monday. Travelled overseas for the first time at 24 (jupiter return). Had a girlfriend whose parents owned an interstate trucking company – us 4 girls would travel interstate with the truckies on the weekends, party and get back for work again Monday. There’s plenty more… blah ,blah, blah.
However I do like the idea of having a loving partner living elsewhere and travelling to meet them – like Elsa and the soldier do – intensely exciting!

  7. Jupiter in 1h conjunct Cancer ASC.

Surprisingly, considering that Cancer influence, I’m fairly adventurous. I voted “average,” though, because I don’t think I’m more adventurous than most.
I will just pick up and go somewhere on the spur of the moment, though, as long as my gut tells me it’s okay. 🙂

  8. Jupiter in Virgo in 5th I voted Average but it depends on your concept of adventure…….I am not too keen on travel unless someone I love is at the other end but if they were all where I was I would never budge

  9. june… you’re probably not going to see this, but it’s designed to go in many different directions (including that.) so is my 3D world name.
maybe i have more of that gemini than i realize 😉

  10. jupiter in pisces in 4th, aspecting MC, pluto, mercury, venus, saturn, uranus, and also aspecting (minor) mars and sun.

When is comes to adventure and freedom and expansion, i find that i’ve spent most of my recent years trying to break away from home (i’m 22) but there is always this force keeping me attached. I am highly adventurous. Love travelling (most of which i’ve done without my family), it’s the only time when i’m really free and unattached to my family.
My motto is do everything once, and never pass on an opportunity to travel. i want to see everything and experience as much as i can in one life time.
