Broke Up With Her Boyfriend After Five Years, Has Younger Man Hot On Her Trail: Venus in Sagittarius Conjunct Neptune

Zodiac Medallions

Dear Elsa,

I have just ended a 5 year on-again off-again relationship. My heart is healing…slowly. I have been chatting with a young man from Morocco who hopes for us to meet, marry, and live together until we die. I don’t know whether to take this young man seriously, or keep my options open and continue to hope for someone else.

I admit he is handsome and kind, two excellent qualities, but am I being stupid? I’m 39 and he is almost 23. I go back and forth with, “This is stupid” to “What if?”

HELP?
Venus in Sagittarius

Dear Venus,

You’re not stupid. Five years is a long time to spend with someone just to have it end. I am sure you are hurting and most any of us would look for some kind of salve to ease this kind of pain. It’s human nature.

But if you want to know if you are going to end up with this man who is half your age and half way around the world… and have it work out? Well I would have to say, the odds are very, very low as to be almost non-existent. I am sorry!

I understand he is handsome and he is sweet and I am glad he’s come into your life to provide some respite and some form of escape. But I do think ultimately, you are going to find this new relationship probably cannot be sustained and you will have to back and deal in the here and now with the loss of your last relationship and the astrology supports my theory.

You have Venus in Sagittarius (foreigners) conjunct Neptune (fantasy) so there is your ability to desire to escape via the dreamy Moroccan, but you also have Pluto (death) transiting the end of your 7th house (relationships). And though you’re getting there, you’re not quite done processing the loss of this relationship. So both these things are working simultaneously, and there is nothing wrong with that. But are you going to be Mrs. Morocco? I don’t think so.

Good luck.

  1. Interesting post and I have chatted with about seven America women with the same experience and the same men from Morroco. You are a meal ticket and a way to get into the USA, and Muslim treat their women to obey and live for them, unless he is an outcast. Good luck and you sure do not sound 39 maybe 17.

  2. We don’t even KNOW if this woman is from the USA. Elsa has people writing to her from all over the world for astrological advice (including quite a few from Europe and the Philippines). And I disagree with your comment of Muslims treating their woman to obey, not least because that sentence makes no grammatical sense.

Saying that, there are definately ‘meal tickets’ of all types in this world: yes, including the one you speak of.

Saying that, I think this man wants to get laid. And I think this woman sounds like she has Venus conjunct Neptune, not like a teenager.

Saying that, I think getting laid is good business! Have a great day everyone!

  3. It’s perfectly possible to make such a thing work… if you are careful and are willing to make sacrifices. I am from the Netherlands, but I have been living in the US for 5 years now with my American wife (and her children). We met online in 1998.

When doing this kind of thing, somebody is eventually going to have to move to a different country, and get used to a different culture, different standard of living, maybe learn a different language, etc. Also, it’s not as easy to “step out” of the relationship if you are so inclined. These are all things you have to consider before you enter a relationship with someone from another country.

While there is certainly a possibility that this person is looking for a “meal ticket”, as somebody mentioned, we don’t know this for sure, and it’s up to the poster to judge that. I know that *I* certainly didn’t come to the US with ulterior motives — the standard of living is lower here than where I’m from.

  4. Why the ‘meet and marry’ when ‘meet and have fun’ is an option? As a long time veteran (see my medals? over there, on the wall) of online meeting and dating and eventually marrying—this sounds creepy. Huge age difference, cultural differences are immense, even between seemingly similar countries (Eng. and the U.S– Canada and the U.S are quite different for starters so IMAGINE how difficult it could be) and most of all, why is this so complicated? There are tons of foreigners in the U.S.
Online fantasy is fun fun fun–but until you meet in person it is pretty much pure fantasy.

As for our friend from the Netherlands—I am an American who has been living in Italy for almost ten years. Standard of living is extremely subjective. I like living in Europe because it is easier not to own a car and get around and the classical music scene is amazing. I like living in California because of the space and nature. Both are qualities that affect my standard of living,

    Happy New Year Elsa!

  5. I liked reading everyones comments. I’ve thought about every single one of those different perspectives/aspects before even writing to Elsa. My favorite is “17…” That made me laugh! The comment about me being so hot/fabulous that of course this young man would fall for me was another favorite. And well – so very true. But just to let you know I’m keeping my head out of the clouds (for now). Good luck to you all, God Bless and thank you for your comments. I’ll hold on to my purse. 🙂
