Black Moon Lilith in the Eighth House – Fertilizer Bomb

nuclear bombIf you have Lilith in the 8th house of your chart her themes will manifest in terms of fear, other people’s money, psychology, and forces outside your control. This house brings to fruition many of the most intense aspects of the Lilith myth.

With Lilith in the 8th, there are wounds in terms of money, particularly the type of money you have to ask for and claim. You have likely been jerked around, treated unfairly, or outright denied by creditors, lenders, insurance companies, or in matters of inheritance. In one way or another, your rightful claim as been rejected.

In traditional astrology, the 8th house is known as the Idle House, or the house of lowering to the ground. It is where the vibrance of the Midheaven slowly sets until it has little power to affect the world. For this reason, it is also associated with death, taxes, and all powers that are greater than us and beyond our capacity to control. These are forces we can’t mitigate or soften. We can’t do anything but react. And with Lilith here, that feeling of powerlessness creates a primal rage. Lilith was victimized early on by forces outside her control, and the entire rest of her myth is the story of trying to harness her impotent fury into something she could use. With Lilith here, you, too, will rage and wail in frustration as your anger butts up against immovable objects over and over.

This is why Lilith in the 8th house also affects psychology. When all that righteous fury can find no external purchase, it is forced to turn inward. Here Lilith digs her talons into the fertile soil of the subconscious, and here she begins to find her power. With Lilith in the 8th, your own psyche is both a power to be feared and a source of infinite growth. As you churn the soil internally, new seeds begin to sprout. Seeds of freedom, of personal power, of spiritual resurrection.

There is so much to discuss with this placement – more than I could ever hope to convey in one post. But I will try to sum it up. When you encounter injustice at the hands of external powers far beyond what you could ever hope to control, it’s natural to rage, fight, and flail. But that same fury has the capacity to become the greatest nourishment for your soul. Allow it to fertilize the darkest corners of your mind, and find in yourself a power that dwarfs that which sought to oppress you. Learn to wield that power and let it set you free.

Do you have Lilith in the 8th house? What is it like?

  1. It’s certainly not the same – but Mars in Cap square my Moon in 8th house can feel a bit like this. Especially since Lilith square the same Moon, only 2 degrees from Mars in my 12th house, can feel a bit like that as well I suppose. My Moon is in Libra.

I, too, has had humbling experiences of pushing against a wall, being rejected by forces outside of my control (power, authority) and it created a rage of ginormous proportions, every time I see ANYTHING that is unfair or unjust.

Your post was inspiring, because I have that same mission: taking the fertile soil in my subconscious and make it into gold in terms of self reliance and power (I have the Saturn/Pluto conjunction in Libra here as well).

I am going through therapy to transform my subconsciousness into something powerful.

Thanks, Midara, for your wise and amazing words. You are the gold nugget here 😉

  2. I have this natal placement, along with my Sun.

I’ve read that I’m to perhaps receive money from another person, perhaps man. It FEELS true, but hasn’t occurred. I don’t want to capitulate or beg for such a thing, but I won’t turn it down. My personal growth over time has allowed for humbleness and public acceptance to spawn.

I’ve done some flailing and gnashing of teeth in response to feeling squashed or pushed aside, forgotten. It was overdue, for at times I’d quietly move along.

With Chiron in my 11th, I want to utilize this energy to stop self-sabotaging, to stop seeing myself as different or “special” and join/create a much needed outlet for others who are seeking assistance from internal strife.

Perhaps by learning how to meet people where they are, this “other peoples money” will rear its head, so that I may invest in a business, land and resources.

  3. I have this, Mercury and Pallas-Athena in Pisces here. I have over and over come up against people who seem to care only to backstab (especial family). Not sure how I deal with it, just seems to break my heart when it happens. Doesn’t hurt as much as it used to I guess.
I’m not expecting to get inheritance as I’m sure there is one person who wouldn’t want me getting any anyway.
As for other people’s money, a few people have me buy stuff online for them or trust me with their resources so that is very nice I am trust enough to be of service to them. 🙂

I am a Cancerian who has Black Moon Lilith conjunct Pallas-Athena at 12 Sagittarius in the 8th House, along with my North Node 25 Sag and moon in 0Cap there as well. I have been significantly cut out of both my Mother and Father’s wills,(enough that I couldn’t contest it) back-stabbed by sisters who were executors of their estates & who greatly benefited financially from my loss. (NN & moon oppose SN/Venus/Mercury in Gemini) I have a problem with betrayal and injustice, and had to really work on letting go of a controlling family that is corrupt with narcissistic greed. I was punished for not being like them, for having integrity, morals and different spiritual values. Since I didn’t go along and often spoke out with truth, they were enraged and I was scapegoated. I didn’t inherit their money. But now, years later, I realize I broke with them to be in a lighter place in my soul. I broke the family karma. And I am free.

  5. Aries moon, Mars in 8th, Lilith as well in 8th. I have many times been denied financial support from my father, who has ample money to support me through my young adulthood but would rather spend weekends in Vegas with my uncle. But, this experience, along with others from my childhood, built a deep set anger within me that I harnessed into my studies as a college student. I studied sociology, philosophy and human geography so, I would often be able to relate in small ways with the complex social issues we were exploring in the material. Several times, I literally transferred the anger and passion dwelling in me from interactions with my father into some of my best writing. I guess I should also mention I’m a Gemini sun with a Taurus mercury, so I naturally write very beautifully anyways. But all in all, uncovering the grasp of Lilith within me is a bit exciting:)

Not only is my my Lilith in the 8th H, but so are my Mars, Jupiter, and Vertex placements. I also have Scorpio asc and my Uranus is in Scorpio too. Here’s what I can share with you. Immense rage that I will never, ever release for fear that doing so might make me soft towards the people that have inspired such reactions. I can stay in relationships for far too long if the sex is good, that said, I will never grant someone a second date if they’re a bad kisser on the first. I know what people are feeling even before they’re aware of it. I’m a natural redhead which gives me a lot of presence even though my need for privacy borders on paranoia. And finally, my ability to transform and regenerate myself (especially given the hell that was my first 20 or so years) into someone with three degrees, fluency in three languages, and an international job that is defined by service and compassion towards the most vulnerable – all make me feel impenetrable. Rise Lilith, rise!

  7. 8th house Lilith in Libra square Sun/Merc in Cancer and sextile Venus/Mars in Leo. Not only have I been screwed over financially at work, but also during the abusive relationship I was in for almost 7 years. Add to this my hate for conflict and you get the picture. Ironically, all this has made me not only a seeker of justice for workers, but I also am writing books which depict women who are comfortable with their sexuality without being aggressive. In fact, I don’t want domination or submission. I want true equality.

I have, since I was a child allowed myself to be reprimanded by authorital persons, like schoolteachers, uncles, aunts etc, which means that now, almost 30 years later, i find it very hard to claim that I am right in a topic even though I am.

I also find it very difficult to be admired in front of others for a personal trait without feeling guiltiness.

  9. I have Pisces Lilith in 8th house and Scorpio Pluto in house 4. I had all the problem you mentioned from when I was child. I always feel no-one exactly understand me and my feeling. My family always criticize me. They always want to obey them. They behave me strictly in money matter also always tell me their money is for me after death. I never want that money that now I have trouble with in and can’t reach. I have never felt a real touch and kindness. They abused against me. Now that I have tried hardly to learn psychology and many subject to improve my life I still have those feeling of not being understood, even if I know my parents also had bad situations in their life. Also another aspect of house 8 came to me when I’ve lost my father since early age. I think I have all the collection of Lilith and house 8 . But I also hope I can growth also to extreme level..

Sad Sad even more sad… I had the hardest time dealing with these issues from i was app. 18-21 when I had a psychiatric diagnosis that wasn’t any evidence for.

I felt that diagnosis so completely far from my true nature, that i didn’t feel comfortable at all with it.

my closest friends, parents, cousins, uncles, aunts, doctors, musicteachers all reacted the same way when I opened up to them and confided. At last I didn’t even feel that my view on myself was good enough. Now I am 34 and struggling to begin my own life. I am studying music and I dream of having a life where I just can be who I am and recognised for that, at least by myself. Maybe the Hans Christian Andersen tale “the Ugly Duckling” holds some truth and also definately “The Emporors New Clothes” I believe that the most beautiful flowers and fruits in the world, are the ones that will take the longest to mature, but eventually lastes for a long time when they finally have 🙂

      1. ScorpioPisces, what a perfect way to put it! I love incorporating fairy tales. You’re right – the world makes you feel like the ugly duckling, but the trade off is that you can see the emperor’s “clothes”!

      2. Hi ScorpioPisces. No one can understand us better than ourselves. That’s nice you study music. Growth is a process in our whole life. Wish you success. 🙂

Brave Girl, I bet you are a Leo Rising 🙂 A, i right? Please try to guess which year I was born 😉

    2. Brave Girl, welcome! You are brave indeed to live through that and you are even braver to share your story. You have a community here. You can check out the Black Moon Lilith tag for more info, and there are wonderful forums filled with supportive people. And if you’d ever like to talk about your Lilith experience directly, I offer consultations that can help you reclaim your power.

      I’m glad you’re here. <3

      1. Thank you so much Midara. Maybe that’s because of my good aspect of mars in house 12. :-)) <3 This is a great site I learn many from it.

  10. Yes. Something in me told me that even if my parents tried to pass on their houses to me I will not get them. I have some pretty evil people in my family. Therefore, I have already refused any immovable material inheritance. it is freeing to have done that.

    1. Yes. I also can see my devil family. They have two face. When they feel unsecured, they will change it. It’s so horrible a world that you cannot trust anybody to show your authenticity.

I am very new to black moon Lilith and understanding how she shows up in my life. I am a Libra Sun, Leo Moon, and Gemini Rising but I also have an 8th house stellium in Capricorn (my outer planets/North Node). So while I have to capability to be bubbly & talkative beyond measure I also prefer to keep certain things to myself (spiritual practices/sex/relationships). I have been denied the things I was supposed to inherit when my grandmother passed on. She wanted me to have most things instead of my mother (due to their strained relationship) and in the end my mother ended up with basically everything. I hope to harness the power that my Capricorn black moon Lilith in the 8th house has. The biggest thing for me is learning to lean in, utilize those traits and not shy away from her. Wish me Luck.

  12. Yes, Lilith and the Vertex are in my 8th house. Sun, Mercury, Mars, and Neptune in Scorpio. Feels like I live to die, and die to live. Rinse/Repeat. Beat me. Kill me. Oh crap. I’m back.

  13. I have Lilith 8th house.

    Also in the 4th house:
Sun conj Pluto exact. Cazimi actually. 29° Libra.
With Pluto also conjunct Mercury and Saturn (Scorpio).
    Pluto square Ascendent.

Oh my life. I feel so misunderstood, vulnerable and hungry.
