I always associate Virgo with fall because it is when school starts, the end of unconstructed summer days. However, Virgo is actually the last sign of summer with Libra bringing in autumn. Correspondingly I think of Pisces as spring because where I live it is the time when we start seeing warm days. Officially it is the end of winter with Aries signaling the start of the new season.
The cardinal signs Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn mark the seasons’ beginnings, Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter. The fixed signs, Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius, are midseason, in full swing. The mutables, Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces, mark the ending and transition into each new season. So each sign is associated with both a season and a seasonal phase.
The cardinal modality is associated with action and beginnings. The fixed modality is associated with developing the action and keeping it going. Mutability shows transitional energy, culmination and adaptation. Understanding each season, its phases and their sign association is helpful in understanding the quality of the modalities themselves and their relation to the individual signs.

My favorite season is Fall. I collect oodles of Libra’s but good or bad Sadge is my favorite! 😉
Where I live, the cherry and apple blossoms burst right around March 21. The leaves start changing at the end of September. The seasons seem pretty synced up with the signs, at least here. I love fall because you get nice medium temps without all that freakin’ spring wind! And maybe some rain in the evening… Just perfect.

They roughly correspond. 🙂 My favorite month is October, my favorite sign Scorpio. November where I live is when it starts getting bitingly, uncomfortably cold, so I have no personal love for it. We’re uneasy friends at best. 😉

Satori…the seasons and signs are different for us in the southern hemisphere! When I was learning astrology, it always required me to do this mental flip and apply it to our seasons down under.
Now we are in Spring…flowers and warm weather, Virgo is like Spring cleaning after a cold winter.
Summer here from November sees loads of Sag birthdays and socialising as we head into Christmas time. Most have their yearly break over Christmas time, then school/college resumes February. Very different to norttern hemisphere associations hey?
