Astrology And Ringtones!

For Mars in Gemini… it just hit me for the first time how this must be. The soldier has a ringtone for me, the Pussycat Dolls, “Don’t You Wish Your Girlfriend Was Hot Like P”. I have never heard it play since I never call him but I hear people dance when it goes off, people he knows and also strangers. So that’s all fine but today it hit me.

He used to have some ringtone… I don’t know the song but apparently it says something like, “Now you’re messin’ with a son-of-a-bitch”. And he said whenever it went off people would stare at him, sometimes he’d feel embarrassed. Well how does he feel when “Don’t you wish your girlfriend was hot like me?” goes off. See what I mean?

He sings that song, “hot like P” but no one else is thinking that when they hear that song. So what’s this tatooed guy doing in a truckstop with “girlfriend hot like me” playing?

Oh brother. I guess he must figure anyone who says anything will find out that “Now they’re messin’ with a son-of-a-bitch!”

What ringtone is on your phone. Does it show in your chart?

  1. I’m kind of a ringtone freak…my general tone is Basketcase by Greenday, “Do you have the time to listen to me whine…” People that I’m close to each have their own special ringtone.

  2. I really want the one that goes brrring!; I think it’s hilarious.

I don’t get fancy ringtones on my cell phone because I have a cheap little one and once I tried to download “Ava Maria” onto it and it crapped out on me (the connection did).

Mercury/Venus in Virgo dislikes garish pop songs on the phone. Perhaps it works for the soldier because he is a tattooed dude in a truck stop and people laugh, but with me it would be predictable (young chick with an annoying ringtone). Aquarius rising hates that.

  3. I picked whatever seemed least annoying of the really cheap, tinny sounds pre-programmed into the phone–Sun in Cancer is frugal sometimes and won’t spend the money for any fancy aftermarket tones. Mars in Gemini, tho’, opted for “Flight of the Bumblebees” of the tones available on the unit.

My daughter, on the other hand, got a much nicer phone than me–it even has a camera! (Well, I couldn’t just hand her a totally cheap piece of crap, now, could I? How mean would that be?!?) And I keep thinking I need to find out just how much some ringtones would cost and how exactly to get them, because although her ring options are somewhat nicer than mine, they are still fairly generic. And my daughter is now a teen, so likes to be expressing individuality. And while Sun in Cancer will deny herself, she is a total wimp with her loved ones and spoils her kid rotten! 😀

  4. Oh, and I don’t have any downloaded ringtones. That would be like having books behind me in my videos, LOL. Or revealing too much what music I life. Nev-ah! 😀

  5. My ringtone is old-school.
But I like having my own interpretations and perceptions of lyrics, as well. And nobody knows what I’m really hearing hehe 😉

  6. uh, wolves and owls and whales and toads and the early warning system for my mother. got them off a website w/free endangered species ringtones 🙂

    probably the virgo, i’d guess.

that song is called “hair of the dog.”

  7. in deference to mars going direct I changed my ringtone to The Bird and the Bee’s “Again and again and again and again… do it again, do it again…”

love my cellphone– love my many ringtones.

    leo rising.

  8. I don’t purchase ringtones, but if I did, it would be Stevie Wonder’s “She’s a bad mamma jamma…” Aries Sun, no wonder. 😉

  9. wyrdling: lol, the early warning system for your mom… classic.

i usually have my phone’s ringer off because i’m usually in very quiet or extremely loud public places when i have my phone with me. if the ringer’s on, though, i get the instrumental intro to a song called “prison sex” which i recorded to the phone myself. sayeth the scorpio moon, mars conjunct ascendant, ascendant ruler in 8th, pluto in 1st. clearly i have a sense of humor about stupid ringtones.

the only other one i’ve had was “house of the rising sun”, but because of it being my ringtone the song was always stuck in my head… no thanks.

  10. My ringtone is a rock song Believe by the Bravery but I had for the longest time The Beatles Norwegian Wood. I usually have a rock song or something well known. Rock songs on my phone usually peak the ears of boys around me, which I like. (Mars-Neptune)

  11. No ringtone. No cell phone. The idea of people being able to reach me 24/7 makes me nervous. I need my freedom! Not bothered by others’ cellphone use and quite enjoy hearing their ringtones–unless it’s rap music or Celine Dion.

  12. Hahaha! I don’t believe in song ringtones, but then again it took me a while to warm up to the camera phone and I couldn’t stop taking pictures with it. Mine is the generic VZW ring tone, but it used to be La Traviata my first year of college, then something else.

  13. I have an astrology friend – her ringtone is the 5th Dimension one from hair. “Dawning of the age of Aquarius.” My mom’s ringtone is “Home” by Daughtry. A coworker is the Addams Family theme. Another coworker is “Tubular Bells” – the theme from the Exorcist. I good male friend of mine is “Patience.” LOL I make my own ringtones and upload them for free. 🙂 It’s about all you can do with Verizon – if you don’t want to spend the money for them.

  14. I make my own ringtones in iTunes, my husband showed me how to “crop” song files into ring-sized clips.

I’ve only done it a couple of times. My husband’s is the riff from “Hard Sun” by Eddie Vedder

My best friend is a Lover’s song, it sings “I miss my sweetest friend…”

And my other close friend, Roxanne… Hehehe, I cropped The Police for perfection. I smile soo big anytime I hear that ringtone! It makes me even more excited to talk to her.

  15. My main one is the Mission Impossible theme by Lalo Schifrin

My frantic Aries friend – The Green Hornet Theme by Al Hirt

My friend across the country who always has the right words to soothe me – Three Little Birds by Bob Marley

My Cowboy – Save A Horse, Ride A Cowboy by Big and Rich (Had to!)

My best friend chose the Bach over the Mozart so he has Toccata and Fugue in D Minor (the same piece that’s in my armband tat)

My family all had Linus and Lucy by the Vince Guaraldi Trio for years.

I need one for Joe Cool – I’m thinking something by Celia Cruz or Tito Puente maybe. Something spicy, Brazilian (or at least Latin), and danceable would be best, but I’m looking for inspiration. Plus I will have more samba music next week so maybe I’ll find something in there.

(I am in the process of recreating all my old ringtones from pre-iPhone days with my iTunes)

  16. HA! Someone mentioned La Traviata and that reminds me that Joe Cool said he wanted to be the Toreador in Carmen … and there’s the ringtone. I have Carmen. LOL.

(And I really hope my other comment shows up or this will NOT make sense. *snerk*)

  17. I have the the Wicked Witch of the West flying theme song from the Wizard of Oz, I also have the theme song from the Twightlight Zone, hehe. I love my phone and the different ring tones, but I still haven’t figured out “everything” my phone does yet.

  18. nah, I can’t tell you that.

But I did think of a cool one for the Leos in your life, for when they’re calling in, “In The Jungle, The Mighty Jungle, The Lion Sleeps Tonight.”

  19. I have “You are the Sunshine of My Life” by Stevie Wonder. It’s part of an effort I’m making to convince myself to answer the phone more often. You know…like it’s a positive thing! 🙂

  20. Pink Floyd’s Wearing the Inside Out. Cancery/Libra-ish atmosmperic, soothing tune about some dude who hasn’t been around people a lot
