“You didn’t go to school to learn to read charts, did you? what are the traits that make a person good at it?”

Michele - I started studying with my sister when I was 8 years old (she was 10). I went to a few classes, seminars or workshops, 20 years later when I finally got to town but other than that I have essentially no formal training at all.

As to what makes a good astrologer, I have no idea.  I think I am an excellent consulting astrologer due my ability to communicate and my extensive experience. I can definitely tune you up but I can’t read a horary chart to save my life.  I can’t elect a date for a wedding, predict the weather, the stock market or the price of gold so depending on what you’re in the market for I may be good as they come or absolutely worthless.

I’ll just come right out and say it- I am inundated right now with people who really want to solve the relationship problems that dog them so when I see something I think might help, I am going to throw it up here.

I apologize in advance if some are hurt but I am afraid I am getting bolder with age which seems appropriate as there is less time to waste. In whatever case, I went to the library today and on the way I saw a man in a new blue truck with this bumper sticker, prominently (and perfectly) displayed:

“Yes, This Is My Truck. No, I Will Not Help You Move”

And I just thought, what the hell.  This is this guy’s statement? This is how he wishes to identify himself?  As a guy with boundaries?  As a guy who is not generous, a person who has things they will not share?  What kind of first handshake is that? Who would want to go on a date with this guy, hmm?

The truck was immaculate and the sticker might as well have said, “Yes this is my dick and no you can’t have any.”  And it gets even worse because the statement is not original.

Why take the truck you maintain in perfect condition and then slap some lame thing someone thought of 10 years ago and label yourself that way? I just can’t function on this and when I spotted the truck, I thought of astrology of course.  The ascendant describes your first handshake.

You say that you have been using the wrong chart for “YEEEARS” (LOL) for the Soldier. So I am curious to know if the other chart that you were using for him seemed accurate at all. Does this one seem more accurate, and is it a lot different? I ask because i am wondering if we just make ourselves believe that something fits, because we want it to, or think it should. 

Michele, yes the chart I have been using has seemed inordinately accurate. It has seemed so accurate I am having trouble switching realities.  I really thought the data I had was correct so never imagined he was going to walk up to me with his birth certificate in his hand (he was showing me his baby feet) and find out this horror!

The Moon is in Scorpio nicely aspected by Saturn and Pluto. It doesn’t get much better than that as far as grounding your emotion and intensity goes. The rest of the sky is crap so I recommend focusing on this bit.

How can your intense emotion be made useful in the real world? What can you manifest, hmm?

Speaking of humility the soldier and I have been discussing our various break ups when we kids after the soldier had some new memory surface last week. He recalls us being in a Mexican restaurant. Mariachis were playing.

“What were we doing?”

“Don’t know. I can’t remember. I remember we met there and we had dinner. We had a good time, I don’t know what we doing but I know it was near the end.”

Amethyst says on Warren Buffet On The Current US Recession

“Is there something in the stars, Elsa, like some weird aspect of Neptune that makes people disbelieve real things like prices, shortages, etc, and only listen to what a talking head tells them to think? I feel like paying attention to reality is going against the grain.”

Amethyst, I just got off the phone with a pal. She likes to think pie in the sky and I was just explaining to her that I felt people were still stuck in a Sagittarius (abundance) mindset. We have had Pluto and Jupiter in Sagittarius but the fact is there has been a shift and we are in reality now whether we admit it or are conscious of it or whatever. It’s like this:

There is no Sagittarius! Jupiter is in Capricorn, so what’s that mean?

It means there is no luck without work. It means there is no expansion without humility!It means there is no opportunity for people who lack credibility and/or integrity. It means if you come in promising the Sun, the Moon and the Stars… if you promise you are going to take away all pain, you are going to be rejected (Saturn) because people won’t believe (Jupiter) you!

The soldier believes he has been a soldier for many, many lifetimes and expects to be a soldier for many, many more. He thinks that now that we have gotten together, we will continue to be together… Period.

“So what? I just keep marrying you and getting a dead husband?” I asked. We were watching a war movie and bodies were strewn everywhere.

“P, shush.”

“Well you keep being a soldier so what the hell?”

He shrugged. “Then I guess I better get myself some janitorial skills.”

I laughed.  “I am just wondering. You keep fighting and what am I to do?’

“You just keep bitching, P.  That’s what. Keeeeep bitching.”
I snorted. “You really think you’ll marry me next life?  Maybe not. Maybe you will be a soldier and I will be a whore you know,” I said.

He rolled his eyes. “You’ll recognize me,” he said. “As soon as I meet you I’ll ask you if you want to be my girlfriend.  You’ll know me.”

I would debate this but he is just so convincing.
