Is your Mercury in Cancer? How does it think, process information, and communicate? Tell us about your Mercury in Cancer. Or maybe your Mercury is in the fourth house. How is that?

My Mercury is in my 4th House, and it forms a conjunction to my Nadir. I like to talk about feelings, a lot. If I'm bonding with someone there's no way I can talk about practical things and stuff like that, I want to know about their feeeeeeeeeeeeeeelings! How they are on the inside, what moves them, what saddens them, and I like to do the same in return. Except when I'm mad, I'm extra careful not to hurt anybody with my words. I'm introverted and I only open up verbally to those I trust.

i'm not a mercury in cancer, but reading WindowLicker's post i related to it completely... i talk and think about my feelings a lot, and i like talking about other's feelings too, and that's how i feel bonded with somebody. then i realized i have moon in gemini which is another type of the mercury/moon combination in a way!

my oldest sister is a mercury in cancer... she's very creative and imaginative. works as a designer. i dont know if i can interpret this correctly because she has sun mercury and mars in cancer but she stops making sense when she's emotional. you can't talk her off the cliff using logic and reason, you have to tell her '' i understand '' and things like that or the argument will never end. forget debating... just forget it.

i had a coworker with mercury in cancer opposite neptune. he was the most uncommunicative person ive ever met in my life. very odd guy.

my mercury's in libra though, so maybe i dont have the best understanding of this sign! im looking forward to hearing other's thoughts, : )

Oh, strawb, I see what you are saying about your sister not making sense when she's emotional. My husband is Mercury in Cancer. I didn't mention him initially because he's not verbally emotional (a man, an engineer, an 8H Mercury) and I've had difficulty wrapping my head around his Cancer Merc. But he does exactly what your sister does: when he's angry he says things that truly make no sense and are extreme emotional exaggerations (I exchanged a gift a year ago after he said I could and he brought this up in a recent argument telling me "You NEVER loved me!" Whaaaaat?)

This makes sense now. Thank you for your observation!

In addition, when his father died he was obviously distraught but he brought up some amazing, creative, far-reaching thoughts about people after they died and hiw he wished we could continue to know all they had known in their lifetime. Sort of an ability to continue to impart wisdom and their entire life experiences from beyond. It was really amazing and beautiful to hear.

thanks @allie, cancerians and their family memories are so close to their heart!

i know it can be really confusing for somebody who is less emotionally or more logically inclined when arguments happen though. how do you even reply to that? thats why im so thankful for learning some astrology, it helped improve our relationship. they're very sentimental people, even if they have trouble verbalizing it.. i suppose if they take things personally it's probably because they care so much?

im not watery at all, and with my air moon, she'd accused me of being heartless a few times :s which hurt me too, because it isnt true. we've  both done a lot of forgiving over the years!

@strawb, it's so true. With astrology I am trying to see where people are coming from. It's fascinating as well as forgiving.....I'm pretty earthy for my air sun, so I detach way more than a water sign and my earth needs concrete, "put your hands on it" types of communication. I pick up a lot from around me and certain people, especially "leaky" types, but Cancer is still very deep and less familiar to me (despite all the Canerians I know). I appreciate everyone's input!
