The Moon is doing a pretty special shimmy around the gates, first hitting it off with Uranus to bring a window of emotional clarity to our struggle for self.  (UTC/GMT 12th October 8am till 5pm).

Then at 3am on 13th (UTC/GMT) it whips into the Gate of Innocence, joining the Earth in the Gate of Shock to define the Channel of Spiritual Initiation.

Human Design Transits for 13 October 2008This channel is all about letting go of your ego and leaping into the unknown with the spirit of a warrior.  It’s also known as the Channel of Mystical Direction.  It takes us beyond what we currently know about ourselves.

The planets are Earth and Moon in this transit, so we’re finding a part of our emotional makeup that helps us ground and manifest.  Because it’s the Earth, which is opposite the Sun (the conscious part of ourselves) it is likely to involve something hidden from our conscious self till…

Ask the collective

ebay-logo1.jpgI promised a story about one of the people who set out to cause me anguish and this is it. Again, I consider this a Pluto in Capricorn deal… making the shadow (Pluto) public (Capricorn) which you may say is my specialty.

In whatever case, I started blogging on Xanga.com in 2001 and I had an audience almost immediately. I had fans but I had one hell of a lot of detractors as well. I am not sure the reason, I suspect there was more than one but I was routinely attacked in every way you can imagine.

I’ve long been fascinated by actor/director Orson Welles. Right now, I’m reading a wonderful biography of him published in 1995, Orson Welles: The Road to Xanadu, by Simon Callow.

Like many epicurians, Welles was born under the sign of Taurus, the same sign as William Randolph Hearst, the media mogul who was the inspiration for Welles’ epic film Citizen Kane.

Here’s what’s interesting. Many astrology Web sites, including Astrotheme of France, show Welles as being born at 7 a.m. on May 6, 1915 in Kenosha, Wis.

That’s not the time that Callow reports. According to the Welles biographer, journalists were constantly asking to see Welles’ birth certificate because they wanted to prove that he was 5 to 10 years older than the wunderkind said he was.

Day of Atonement 5769

johnlen

On October 9th, the day that would have been John Lennon’s 68th birthday, Jews the world over observed the holiest day of the year, Yom Kippur, a/k/a the Day of Atonement.

Though the word atone is suggestive of making amends, ‘atone’- is two words: at one, implying that with awareness of our misdeeds and a sincere wish to rectify, we’re ‘at one’ with our highest selves and/or with the divine force of the universe, at least that’s what makes sense to me.

A major storm is impacting the western United States this week end with heavy snow over Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming, and windy conditions over New Mexico, Arizona, and California northward to Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana. Sustained winds between 20 and 40 mph will be experienced with gusts exceeding 70 mph in a few locations.

The Full Moon of September 15th comes into play with this storm. At the time of full moon, Mercury, Venus, and Mars were angular over the western U.S. at between 115 and 117 west longitude. Both Mercury and Venus were conjunct at 19 degrees Libra while Mars was close by at 17 degrees Libra. This troublesome trio is being activated as we speak. The transit Sun is at 19 degrees Libra today activating the storm potential.

The solar ingress map for the Fall season also placed a Mercury-Mars conjunction over the area promising windy conditions at times throughout…

Happy birthday, Clara Meadmore, the happy (Venus square Jupiter) virgin (in Virgo).
Clara Meadmore, born in Scotland on October 11, 1903, said she managed to be 105 today because she never had sex, she says (and she is not lesbian, she says). She travelled around a lot, instead.*)
Her hour of birth is unknown, and I bet that many of the persons born on her day of birth married and got children. Still, there are some clues. Moon, Venus and Mars are in conflicting signs. Venus is square Pluto. And when she decided never to get married, her progressed Sun was in conflict with Mars. Add this with the social-cultural soup of hundred years ago and what you get is a happy Venus in Virgo!**)

Saturn is 105 degrees away from the Sun. Venus is semi sextile Sun. Sun-Venus-Saturn is another indication of either divorce or remaining on your own. Saturn…

mySigna“Steve Pavlina, the blogosphere’s foremost authority on personal development, has written a fantastic book on astrology and the Tarot. The odd thing is that he doesn’t know it.

In fact, as far as I know, Steve is completely ignorant of astrology and the Tarot. He is something of a mystic — by his own account, he has contacted dead people, entered the astral realm, and channeled spirits — but this isn’t his main focus. Instead, his passion is personal development — the pursuit of individual growth.
