The Moon spends the week moving through Sagittarius and Capricorn with a new moon in Capricorn in the middle. A Jupiter ruled mood to a Saturn ruled mood… the Moon illuminates the opportunities presented by the ongoing Jupiter-Saturn sextile.
You know how to treat an injury, don’t you? Ice then heat. When something is inflamed you must calm the heat before you encourage movement to feed it with healing flow. This is similar: expansion then contraction. Grab all the wisdom you can, then compress it, concentrate it. Then broadcast it… get every last bit; give it punch.
Compress truth into something meaningful. Simplify. You can hand someone a dictionary and they have all the wisdom possible in their hands. But can they open that book and point to one word that encompasses them all? Try.
Over the course of the week, Mars is conjunct Neptune and retrograde Mercury conjoins the Sun. The new moon is smack up against this. The new moon happens late Wednesday, early Thursday. It’s a new cycle. That new cycle is a fresh way of acting on “The New Cruelty”. Without explanation that phrase could call up some seriously upsetting questions. I mean it a bit that way. But I also mean it the way I heard it in a Steve Martin movie (L.A. Story).
“The New Cruelty” was the popular, new restaurant, snobby and nasty. Elite and punishing. “You think with a financial statement like this you can have the duck? You may order the chicken.” The satire was painful but hilarious.
The way to turn the new cruelty into something useful is through connection and stoic humor. Capricorn Mercury is ideal for humor so dense that you can’t always tell it IS humor. Over a holiday dinner my daughter had a whole room of people half convinced she was going to mime college in the south of France. A few of them were fully convinced.
Housing is really cheap, though… that is if you’re not overly modest. ::mimes an invisible box::
The magic is not in the truth reveal. The magic is in the connection. Try this: Don’t reveal. Let them think it over for themselves. Create the connection and what you say to follow up doesn’t matter.
Monday the Sagittarius Moon squares that Mars and Neptune. Expect the gregarious side of the mime story. If someone laughs at you for being gullible, understand it’s not so great being so dead inside that you have to have fun at someone else’s expense.
Tuesday the Moon moves on to conjunct Saturn and positively aspect Uranus, Jupiter, and Venus. Flesh out that expansive mood and grab all the goodies you can, while you can. Enjoy yourself. It’s a part of the process of hard work and growth that people sometimes forget to include.
Wednesday the Moon moves to Capricorn and Mercury moves over the Sun. The mood hardens, solidifies – but attitudes and perspective really need that ebb to grab onto the information that is covered in dust underfoot. And then the new moon takes place, just under eight degrees.
Thursday, the Capricorn Moon moves through Pluto, squaring Jupiter and Uranus. Expect some jolts of recognition, the start of something new. The Moon also sextiles Chiron in Pisces. Healing can feel painful at the beginning. That doesn’t mean you should stop. It feels so much better if you recognize it for what it is and get past the sting.
Friday, the Moon makes no new aspects in Capricorn. The same is true for Venus in Aquarius. It’s possible to find an inner calm that puts you in touch with an impersonal peace.
Where does the new moon fall in your chart? Where are you hoping for a fresh, new start in your life?
