“He’s captured,” I told the soldier, a couple days ago, letting him know where I was in the book, Five Years to Freedom: The True Story of a Vietnam POW. He’s thinking. This guy thinks so he’s in captivity and he thinks he’s going to be there for six months.”

He laughed.

“Yeah, it’s interesting. He’s only been there about a week he decides to put this line way out there, at 6 months. He mentally prepares himself to withstand captivity for 6 months which at the time seems way overblown.  You know.  I guess he thinks he’s going to be in there for a month so if he prepares himself mentally for 6, he’ll be in good shape psychologically and this will be completely deal-able.  He thinks he’s set…”

Venus Neptune War Stories… And What Should Be My Epitaph

December 18th, 2009 @ 5:05 pm by Elsa

Astrology in real life

To give you a scope of this, how vast and endless it is, I tell a story of a man I was love with and he with me. Engaged to be married, we traveled to meet his family over the holiday season where I was kicked out of house for being a “nigger”. The exact words were, “I told you not to bring that nigger to my house.”

vietnam helicopterMy fiance in this story, the man with the nightmares has Saturn in Scorpio in the 12th house (dreams) square Pluto in Leo.

I am talking to the soldier about this in 2003, ten years after the fact. We both have emphasis on the 8th house (death):

“So anyway, he would wake up with these nightmares and I would wake up with him. And he would relay the dream and I would see the thing visually and feel it. A helicopter going down… swirling. Your stomach.” Continue reading Astrology and Bigotry: Dreams, Nightmares and Saturn in the 12th House

mercury planet“So we made it through dinner with the bigot and I was unscathed, short term. Longer term? Well things occurred. But we did eat dinner, and we even spent the night there. I guess it’s odd but I just didn’t care at the time. I had my mind on the next day.”

“What was the next day?”

“Vietnam Memorial. See, we were traveling together but with different priorities. My finance was introducing me to his family, his brother was tagging along because we had fun and I was taking these brothers to the memorial, or else.” Continue reading Astrology and Bigotry: Brothers and Mercury in the Birth Chart

vietnam memorialseekingzen asks on the Bigotry blog:

“Oh good lord… what happened after all that?

The Soldier asked the same thing:

“So he calls you that and then what happened?”

“Oh, we made it through. I actually ate dinner there that night. I stayed overnight too, if you can believe that,” I said.

“No I can’t believe that.”

“Well that’s what happened. And that whole thing was small potatoes compared to the next day.”

“What happened the next day?”

“Vietnam Memorial.”

“You went to the memorial?”

“Yeah but it was more like I took them rather than I went myself. See, their older brother was in Vietnam and he was MIA. I mean, I imagine he was dead but they did not seem to imagine that.”

“No?”

“No, not really. They thought he might be alive. And I don’t know. Maybe, but I doubt it. So it had been many years and they had no closure. He was their big brother. They were quite a bit younger and they thought him a hero. And he was the mother’s favorite too. Her best son, she said. She told them this so you can imagine how that was.”

“Hmm.”

“And she would not or could not accept that her best son was killed, which pretty much forced the two brothers to go along and maintain this illusion because it’s what she wanted. She asked this of them so they did it. They accommodated her. They suspended reality I guess you could say and neither of them had ever gone to the Memorial even though it was right there in the city they visited at least three times a year. In fact, they avoided it like the plague.”

“So you took them?”

“I did. And to this day, in spite of there supposedly being no mistakes, I’m not sure I should have. I think it might have been an error and if so it was egregious.”

Have you ever done something consciously and deliberately after carefully considering it and had it go badly? What?
