The soldier was yelling, he’s got that crew cut now you know and I was taken aback.

“Oh my God,” I said. “You are a butchy, butchy man. How did I end up with someone so butchy?”

He made a butchy noise and gesture and I gasped.

“P! What do you mean what are you doing with a man like me? I am an extreme man, you are an extreme woman. We’re attracted like moths to a flame.”

I gasped again but he’s right and that right there is the opposition. It is also evidence of my Uranus in the 7th – I am shocked at my partner. He has Venus in aspect to Uranus so I imagine it goes both ways.

Do you ever look at your lover and wonder what the hell?

“I’m a steely-eyed killer,” the soldier said happily.

He waved his hands around to indicate dingbat-ness and I stared.

“She was an actress,” he said. “You’re like an actress too.”

The soldier and I getting ready for the gym this morning, or rather I’d been ready for 3 hours and him? Well…

“Okay, P,” he said as he was putting on his shoes. “After this I have to go out to the truck and get my gym bag, what do you think of that?”

“I try not to think about it. You are a slow ass Taurus and we go when you’re ready if you ever get ready… just tell me when we can go, I don’t want to think about it.”

“Well good. Because no one needs a bouncy ass gazelle when they’re trying to get out of the mud hole do they? You don’t even get in the mud so what do you know?”

“Don’t know, don’t want to know, just grunt when you’re ready.”

(This is what it’s like when you have Uranus tied up with Venus. You wind up with an alien one way or the other)

People have been remarking and in some cases complaining about my crooked lipstick for about 20 years which is about how long I have been wearing lipstick. I thought I had this resolved for the most part a few years back. The AMF said I was cured for example and I should no longer be mentioning it on my (other) blog so I thought that was that. But apparently not. Apparently I am still askew because last night the soldier mentioned this.

The soldier this is, who has not got a fashion conscious bone in his body. The soldier who states he has been wearing the same clothes since he was 12 years old and says that he sees no problem with this.

“Yeah, I see you like that sometimes and I laugh about it on my way to work. That’s my, P!” he said brightly.

“Yeah, in 2003 you told me you could never live in Colorado. Never, ever, not in a million years.  I worry about that some. I am sorry you have to be somewhere you don’t want to be.”

“I am where I want to be, P.”

That last bit, the 4th degree Knight and the Decoy Catholic is indicative of several astrological themes in the relationship between the soldier and I. 

For one, I have Uranus (odd) in the 7th house (partner) and the soldier has Uranus in aspect to Venus which is the same exchange.  We are not interested in relationship with no freak factor. Things unexpected have appeal.

Same energy from another angle, it illustrates how we both allow the partner to be an individual. If the soldier wants to show up in church with a sword, well I assume he has his reasons.  If I want to write our conversations on the Internet… well I guess if you don’t like it, he can always run his sword through you. Why?  Because we are friends. And this is the same energy from a third angle (Uranus rules friendship). So while he defends me with his sword I do the same with my keyboard and this brings me back to the topic I started  on and then abandoned – Synastry.

As I mention in the video, one person’s Sun trine the others Moon only goes so far. In fact I would say this other kind of stuff goes a lot further. It’s as if the straight synastry is flat and this other (affinity) is more robust and three dimensional.

Dear Aries,

First I would say if you are attracting someone with Uranus in the 7th house, you are probably somewhat commitment-phobic yourself and sure enough, I see a tight aspect between Venus (7th house) and Uranus. Never mind you are an independent Aries with a detached Aquarius Moon!  But to answer your question, I think it is fine to marry someone with Uranus in the 7th house and you may even be able to stay that way if you give them lots of space.

You will have to deal with their impulses, which becomes possible when you can deal with your own impulses. And these relationships to tend to work best when there is regular separation.

The example that comes to mind is astrologer Stephen Arroyo’s remarks in one of his books.  For a time, he worked near an Army post and had a lot of Army wives as clients. He states he could not help but notice 70% of the women had Uranus in the 7th, so you see how this worked for them: their husbands were not around interfering with their freedoms.

Closer to home, when the soldier and I were together as kids, he went to work for 24 hours and then was home for 48 or some such schedule. This meant I could look forward to his leaving LOL and of course more recently, he has been driving a truck!

What we will do now remains to be seen but we will have to do something because like you, he has Venus in aspect to Uranus himself and the energy is going to play one way or the other.

Bottom line, I would say marriage to a Venus Uranus person should be avoided unless you are highly independent yourself.  But this is no negative reflection on the person with this exchange. You should also not marry someone really horny unless you like to screw, right?

If you like eccentrics who are unpredictable in love, if you do not wish to be bored and you can provide your own sense of security, then Venus Uranus is probably your ticket.

Someone wrote me the other day asking if a 7th House Uranus meant they were “doomed”. I have a 7th house Uranus (or 8th depending on which house system you use) and have never felt doomed in any way. I will say my love relationships (7th house) manifest very quickly, and i n the case of the soldier and I… his natal Uranus (fast) is conjunct my Venus (love) so this energy definitely plays and this is how:

“Well we slept together the night we met,” he said.
