A Year of Transits: What I Like About the Transit Report by Nota

Things That Are Cheap for $10 Alex!

One of the perks of being on the staff here is I get a transit report from Elsa. Now, as someone who does this for a living I don’t particularly need a transit report. I know how to look this stuff up myself. But, Sun Saturn I can do it my own self ego issues aside, I was happy to get it and here’s why:

#1 – It’s all right there for me. I am a tired person. I have a little baby and stuff to do. Yes, I know how to find my transits. But it’s the time that it would take to do the leg work that I am having trouble finding. This was fast. Bam! In my email. Done. It’s the astrological version of the wash n’ fold.

The Transit (And The Lesson) Is Inevitable… Thankfully

October 26th, 2010 @ 8:00 am by Elsa

Astrology in real life

I was working with a client the other day, she had some challenging transits ahead, about a year out. You can look at something like that and feel all kinds of dread but it won’t do you any good.  It’s a total waste of energy because you’re suffering in advance for no reason whatsoever and then comes the transit and you’re depleted!

may 4th squareWhen I was 23 I lived in a crappy little rental house with my then boyfriend. He was also a Libra in case you were wondering. Yes, we were two little Libras happily co-habitating until his mother came to visit. Don’t get me wrong, she was an awesome lady. We got along smashingly at first. It was the day she noticed someone left a light on in the closet and discovered our makeshift grow room that everything changed. So that’s what that smell was! We only had eight plants but I guess that was enough to boggle the mind of a little 65 year old Chinese lady. She went berserk. At first she blamed me, then she blamed the town we lived in, then she blamed rap music. I should mention this was not the first time that her son had attempted to grow marijuana, he was what you would call a hobby horticulturalist.

saturnStephB writes on Saturn Leaves Libra… 7 years:

You mentioned reflecting on what’s happened in the 4th, 5th, and 6th houses (from the natural chart, right?). But would it be more important to reflect on the last three houses that Saturn has transited in our own chart? In other words, are we still climbing the (natural chart) mountain even if Saturn is actually descending on our natal chart?

StephB – no, it doesn’t translate. The quadrants are defined as shown in the diagram. In other words, houses 5, 6 and 7 so not represent a quadrant.

This is complex situation as introduced here, Heads Up! I feel it warrants another post.

We have to take this serious because Saturn is involved. Saturn means there will be consequences for any transgression. In contrast those who “do the right thing” even when it’s difficult find themselves supported.

Mars is involved so people are angry. If you anger is misplaced you can expect it to be thrown right back at you one way or the other, courtesy Saturn.

Old Videos, Mars Energy And Outer Planet Transits Beat The Crap Out Of You

April 26th, 2009 @ 3:15 pm by Elsa

Astrology in real life

I put up these old videos and can’t believe what I look like. I also can’t believe I made them in the midst of the chaos I was in at the time. I have no idea what I was thinking. I look so raw in some of them, then there are the ones I start crying in the middle of taping and just keep talking, what the hell?

I guess I figured that considering what I was going through at the time, what difference could it possibly make but when I compare my videos to some of the other polished astrologers I just can’t deny the lack. Not that I think I can do anything about it because I know I can’t. It would be a perversion of my energy.

saturn girlDear Elsa,

Let’s say you were born with Saturn square Venus. Years later, Saturn transits square to your natal Venus.

Would you be able to deal with it better because you already have the aspect natally, or would it just be more difficult, like a double dose?

Curious

Dear Curious, here is your lousy answer: It depends. Some people have a difficult aspect like Saturn square Venus in their chart but they also have the ability to ignore it. Let’s say they have a grand trine for example.

When someone has a grand trine it indicates an easy flow in certain aspects of their life. They just don’t have to worry about whatever these areas are so they may opt to focus on the ease and deny the thing they lack. A good example of this would be a woman who achieves like crazy… really very easily however no one loves her (Venus) really (Saturn). This could be a teen star for example.

pots-on-the-stove.jpgRegarding the piece on Love and War, Humbling etc, comments left by Jessica and Deirdre make it clear to me that I was understood and I am very grateful. Yesterday I told this story to a pal and asked her if it translated because damned if I could tell. She said it did so it’s very heartening to see people get this. I am just in it so deep I’ve no perspective. And so many things compete for my energy and attention it’s not possible to try to remedy that. There are just too many pots on the stove!

Open Question: Satori’s Metaphor For Outer Planet Transits

July 27th, 2008 @ 7:00 am by Elsa

I’m skimming through Barbara Hand Clow’s book, Chiron: Rainbow Bridge Between the Inner & Outer Planets and I came across something that made me think of a fab metaphor for what happens at an outer planet square/opposition/return. She mentioned that it was the fact of having this tremendous energy available to you, that if you weren’t ready to utilize it it was a missed opportunity. She said that when people were ready later to make a change they just didn’t have the energy available to push it on through.

That totally reminded me of those goofy Back to the Future movies. Marty and the Professor had to get the time travel car hooked up to the power source right at the exact moment or they couldn’t get where they were going. BUT it’s not like anything horrible would happen to them if they didn’t get “back in time.” they certainly could have lived out other existences wherever they were. they just wouldn’t have been their PEAK existences. Interesting.

Do you make good use of the energy available to you?
