Synasty vs Composite Charts: Updated And Enhanced Conclusions In 2009

Addendum to Astrology of Relationships: Synastry vs Composite Charts, Mars Square Mars, Grand Crosses and Other Frights

Need to catch up? Part one

I promised an update to the Grand Crosses and Other Frights series and this is it.  I was in a relationship with a grand cross in the composite, followed by a relationship with a grand trine in the composite.  The 2nd relationship was far more pleasant and this was all I could note at the time.

This brings me to a point I have been meaning to make – Nothing substitutes for experience. You can read until you are blue and it is just not the same as living. Point is I was writing from my experience at the time and now I have more experience.

aquarius metal signIt was a conversation with another astrologer that prompted these blogs. He wanted to know which method I preferred and I like both.  But there are some things that can’t be accounted for via traditional synastry or looking at a composite. Like for example, what’s up with me and all these Aquarians?

This is my sister on this subject, about 13 years ago. We’re on the phone chatting up the charts of my soon-to-be inlaws:

elsaamfcompositechartI’ll tell you how this second composite chart works out in the world in real life. For one thing when I first met, The AMF he was seeing a therapist. He attached to me  very quickly which upset her. I think she had a little crush on him because she had no problem with him meeting women he didn’t like. ;-)

grand crossI had a terrific time getting out of the relationship with the composite grand cross which was unusual because I am as slippery as they come. I am like Houdini with a jet ski waiting when it comes to leaving a relationship but I could not find a way out of that one to save my life, up until the time I did. I don’t know what to say besides I’ve been happy since and I think I’ve learned my lesson.

mars symbolI was taking to another astrologer yesterday, he asked me which method I favored when it came to looking at relationships. Synastry or Composite charts. Then Britney asked what the difference was, so here goes:

I use both methods because they show different things. When you compare one chart with another, you see how two individuals interact. When you actually put the charts together, you see how the relationship acts. And I can illustrate this with a story.

Astrology In Real Life: Aquarius Married to Aquarius – The Blue Streak

April 20th, 2009 @ 7:19 pm by Elsa

Astrology in real life

Aquarius horoscope fabricPulling this up for my sister because she knows these people…

My parents are both Aquarians. My mother is a double Aquarius and my father is also Aquarius with four planets and his n. node in the sign. That’s a lot of Aquarius!

I wrote this in 2002. HQ wanted this in my book but after much debate, it got cut. It was a story in the middle of a story and while I used to write like this, Saturn came along and forced structure and discipline.

Vintage Astrology Blogging: Using Astrology To Filter People – Saturn in Synastry Redux

April 16th, 2009 @ 10:17 am by Elsa

Commenting on the comments…

meloncholy fetiRegarding the blog about using astrology to filter people, born from the advice blog for this gal having trouble in relationships, Marly asked (in 2006):

“… So, anyone whose Saturn aspects your personal planets should be avoided? Even the “good” aspects such as sextiles or trines? Also, what about people whose Saturn falls on your 5th, 7th or 11th house?”

I wanted to respond.

Dating? Using Astrology To Filter People, It’s Not Such A Bad Idea…

April 15th, 2009 @ 10:25 am by Elsa

The particulars…

grand crossI wrote this in 2006 in response to the comments on the “She’s Destructive” advice posts…

I thought I’d tell the back story to that and elaborate a bit. My sister and I have studied astrology since we were kids. Some years ago, maybe 15 years ago, she told me that she hated people with Saturn in Sagittarius.

As you can see, it’s my whole family who is not politically correct buy in any case, I looked at her and laughed, “Could it be that you’re a Pisces with a Sadge Moon?”

She raised her eyebrow because this had not occurred to her. Classic Pisces oblivion.

He tells me I’m crazy all the time like maybe three times a day. On this day I decided to attack. (swearing below the break)

The Soldier And Henry: Jupiter In Sagittarius Across The Generations

August 12th, 2008 @ 9:40 am by Elsa

Astrology in real life

henry bedA few days ago someone wrote me with a question about Jupiter in synastry. I couldn’t quite coax it into a post but I’ve come up with this… the story (Jupiter) of the unlikely connection between two men with Jupiter in Sagittarius.

My grandfather, Henry was extraordinary by anyone’s standards and as a double Capricorn with 4 planets in Sagittarius (including Jupiter and Saturn), I’d have to say he was born that way. The soldier is also extraordinary however I’d say he was born with his work cut out for him.
