Introduction To Synastry by Satori

November 3rd, 2010 @ 1:19 pm by Satori

“When a lamp gets broken over somebody’s head, by all means there’s sure to be a Libra in the crowd.”
–Michael Lutin, Made In Heaven

Rabid Wolves at RestSynastry is quite simply chart comparison. The synastry charts that computers generate twine together two charts in one space, one laid inside the circle of the other. In this way we can see how the placements of one chart aspect the placements in the other. This seems simple as it is one chart, however when we analyze the synastry chart we are really looking at two, each individual chart with the placements of the other superimposed.

zodiac game horoscope

I am learning about how people relate and I didn’t mean to, but I came across the name, John Gottman who is a psychologist who wrote among other things, The Mathematics of Marriage: Dynamic Nonlinear Models.

This guy studied relationship in an effort to be able to predict who would divorce and who would not with very limited data and he came up with a super effective formula. He claims that if he can can listen to a couple talk about *anything, for an hour, he can predict with 95% accuracy if they will be married or divorced within 15 years. If he listens for just 15 minutes, he can still predict this with 90% accuracy.

Our Commonality Is Suffering?

September 1st, 2010 @ 7:05 am by Elsa

Astrology in real life

I’ve said it many times, I lack perspective and go begging for it often.  Last night I was trying to get my husband’s view on something which can be difficult at times. It’s not that he’s not forthcoming. With Jupiter in Sagittarius, he will pontificate until you beg for mercy but he doesn’t always understand the question.

His Saturn in hard aspect to my Mercury makes communication difficult at times. In his vernacular he’d say I am an abstract thinker where he is logical and the two minds don’t always marry well.

Demystifying Astrology: Tips On Judging Relationships (Synastry)

May 24th, 2010 @ 10:19 am by Elsa

Astrology for beginners

synastryThe signs correlate with the houses.

Aries, the first sign is associated with the first house.
Taurus, the 2nd sign correlates with the the 2nd house… Gemini/3rd, Cancer/4th and so on through the zodiac.

Consequently someone with a lot of planets in the 2nd house will have a nature similar to someone with a lot of planets in Taurus. This is an important point when judging relationships.

Astrology, Love And The Limits of Synastry…

March 8th, 2010 @ 3:03 pm by Elsa

Astrology in real life

I am working with a client who has realized that astrology can do more harm than good if you don’t know what you’re doing. This hit him when he came across my assertion that the grand cross in the composite chart between my husband and I served us. Before reading that, he said he would not considered a relationship that had a grand cross in the composite which made him want to investigate further.  Smart, I’d say.

I wrote regarding synastry:

Venus Mashed With Saturn – Controlling The Other’s Vanity Or Aesthetic

March 6th, 2010 @ 11:40 am by Elsa

Astrology in real life

On the subject of appearance (mine in particular) my problems on this front are long-standing.  For example I once had a boyfriend and while I loved him and he loved me, my clothing gave him fits.

His Saturn was square my Venus, I am sorry to say because here he complains I am dressing wrong (not good enough) – Domesticating Elsa.

And then here he complains that I am dressing too well and look too good – Bianca Jagger.

Then there was the guy who wailed, “Why can’t you wear jeans and suntan pantyhose like everyone else, even thought I was wearing a purple skirt and a gold hat on my head when he met me… and blue tights by the way.

Last night I picked the soldier up at his truck. Driving home, I nodded up at the full Moon. “Told you,” I said. “Told you that Moon was going to cause you some emotional problems,” I said.

“Yeah, I didn’t know it would be you,” he said. I didn’t answer because matter of fact it was me… or us rather.

The full Moon was conjunct Mars, opposing the Sun and Venus. I told you there would be male/female conflict.  It was very personal to us as the whole business squared the soldier’s Moon Neptune in Scorpio while setting off my natal Venus Neptune square and it was not a pretty sight!

plutoThis is from 2008, I have a new one for tomorrow.

I watched this video a few times today. I am memorized by it because I can remember what I was feeling as I was making it. I was in the middle of my Pluto Moon transit and I’d been crying for days.

Crying was usual but you have to just keep moving through so I made this video. It is a continuation on my series on synastry and the limitations of astrology but I took a different tack as you’ll see. I think the it came out rich, emotional and earthy but I am not sure this is apparent.

Astrology And Reuniting With Your Lover, Friend Or Family Member…

July 30th, 2009 @ 9:21 am by Elsa

Astrology in real life

With Uranus in the 7th house, I have a lot of experience with togetherness followed by separateness followed by togetherness and my strong experience is that whatever was there initially will be there when the people reunite and this is for good or ill. You may be able to better manage strong feelings that are conjured up when you reunite with someone but the energy itself will still be there.

For example I feel the same way about the soldier as I did when I was a kid and I feel the same with him too, as far as physically when he is in the room. We fought like a cat and a dog within hours of meeting each other, both yelling at the top of our lungs and we still have bouts like this.
