Creative Expression…And Being Dumbfounded

December 19th, 2011 @ 5:53 am by Elsa

Jupiter stuff.

Most creative people know that feeling when the material seems to come through you, rather than from you. When I get in a storytelling mode I can sit and type all day,  having no idea what I’m doing, I just do it.   I have no outline.  I have no agenda other than it’s occurred to me to tell some story. I don’t have a reason to tell the story and don’t feel I need one.  The impulse is there and I obey it.

Pulling this up for levity. Do you have an emphasis on the Cardinal signs? Think you can control others? Har! Best think again. (from 2007)

Media, Publishing And Storytelling: Life After Pluto In Sagittarius

December 11th, 2010 @ 6:12 am by Elsa

Astrology in real life

I was reading statistics to my husband last night from a book published in 1966 that cited studies done in the mid and late 50′s.  The statistics were interesting on several levels but what prompted me to share with him was the fact the researchers were considering both race and religion as factors.

The book said that Jews were like this, Catholics like this, Protestants fell in this range. It also said, Irish were prone to alcoholism, Italians were not but they did tend to be involved in organized crime more than other ethnic groups. It said American children of native born and foreign born parents were diagnosed sociopaths at the same rate and various other things along lines of this ilk.

Jupiter Uranus = Unusual Stories That Shock And Liberate And Teach

June 18th, 2010 @ 7:06 am by Elsa

Astrology in real life

In regards to The Thrill Of Agony story, it occurred to me this morning that event was a Jupiter Uranus thing in that it was a shocking broadcast.

In hindsight, as of right now this morning, I can see how unusual that was.  It has never registered prior to today because the fact is when you are living inside a life like mine you’ve no way to see it is unusual. How could I know?

I Might Have Cracked The Nut

April 20th, 2010 @ 8:03 pm by Elsa

Astrology in real life

We have these “happy hours” on the blog these days, at least we have for the last 2 weeks in a row. During the first one, I was play tending bar and taunting one of the regulars about the fact she once found herself at an orgy… she was a young girl and a virgin at the time so quite surprised at what kind of party this turned out to be.

Apparently she plastered herself up against the wall because she thought she would get pregnant if someone touched her… she in waaaay over her head and a hapless Capricorn of course. A baby goat.

(swearing below the break)

Sagittarians Telling the Truth – God Help Us!

April 7th, 2010 @ 9:04 am by Elsa

True stories

sag manSome years back, I was writing on a message board about Gemnis lying. I called them Gemiliars and people got all pissed off. They were justified to an extent so having Libra, I decided to write about Gemini’s opposite sign: Sagittarius, known for being blunt and honest. Here’s the story…

I was dating this guy once, a Sadge rising. I’d met him in a restaurant for a big date. This was a really big date, he planned to propose to me after dinner. He had the ring in his pocket and here’s what happened instead:

Storytelling, And Sacrilege

April 4th, 2010 @ 5:49 pm by Elsa

Astrology in real life

sagitariusThe other day I started a thread on the boards to whinge about not being able to tell stories anymore. I speculated that I’d moved on for a reason, not knowing exactly what that reason was but now I think I get it.

I did all that dark and psych-minded storytelling with Pluto in Sagittarius. Part of the time, Jupiter was in Sadge or transiting my 9th house which is very good for broadcast or publishing rollicking stories. That time has passed and here’s the part that is hard to take: I don’t really think it is coming back.

Storytelling Life

March 2nd, 2010 @ 6:57 pm by Elsa

Astrology in real life

Speaking of the book, Five Years to Freedom: The True Story of a Vietnam POW, I think will be my last post on the topic. It’s another thing that struck me as interesting on many levels.

As I have mentioned, I like the writing in this book. Horrifying or not, Rowe can tell a story and stories being Jupiter-ruled always expand a person.

Rowe is captured along with two other Americans. One of them is isolated from the other two right away which pretty much tells you from the outset that he’s got a separate destiny. Rowe and Dan are also separated at various times to various extents but nothing like this third man, Versace (Italian and Puerto Rican) who is immediately isolated and clearly on his own and independent path.

Elsa P And Her Stories Of The Nefarious

January 30th, 2010 @ 5:13 am by Elsa

Astrology in real life

8th house“I’m thinking,” I told the soldier. “No one wants to hear stories of the nefarious.”

He laughed. “No they don’t, P.”

“I am thinking about my friend who died. I am glad her family doesn’t want to talk to me at this point. I obviously don’t know where the lines go. If it were me, I would want the story, the story is precious. You can’t hear these stories anywhere else in the world and you say people don’t want to hear stories about the nefarious but it’s not true. You can’t say there isn’t an appetite for this stuff because there is. Look at all the cop shows and grisly murder shows… investigations. People watch that stuff  so where is the line? Is it when it is real and there are emotions involved?”
