How Things (Really) Work In Nature – Heads Up ‘Round The Jupiter Uranus Conjunction 2010 – 2011 – Unintended Consequences For Example..
Ask the collective…
This is from 2007, before my husband I married. It’s relevant in relation to the Jupiter Uranus conjunction we’ve got on tap through the end of the year. As a graphic example of what he is talking about, check what happened to the traffic on Astro Dispatch when Paris Hilton linked the site.
We’d met on the side of the road in another state. He’d not yet moved to Colorado.
The soldier was on a rant which is a very common thing. I listen to him with half an ear except for when I decide to pay attention. I can’t do this all the time because the rants are frequent and they threaten my coveted good mood if I don’t filter.
He’s genius-like if you pay attention which for me is another reason not to. There is only so much I want to learn on a Saturday. But sometimes he pops off with something that utterly fascinates me.
Ask The Collective: Are You Abstract / Spiritual Or More Scientifically Minded?
Astrology in Real Life…
From 2007:
“We’re opposites, P”, Â my husband said.
“You think that? I don’t really think that. I think we’re very similar. How are we opposites?”
“Oh, well you’re abstract. And I’m… I don’t know the word for it. I’m scientifically-based I guess you’d say.”
“Oh.”
“Yeah. I’m a scientist and you are a spiritual person.”
I didn’t say anything because I thought he had it backwards. But then again…?
Are you abstract or scientific?
Are you sure?

Speaking Of Science And Astrology… Meet Clint Taylor
Outtakes and Various Other Sundries…
Just came across this:
From microscopes to telescopes, Clint Taylor’s vision moves out of the labs and into the sky
Here are some excerpts:
“Taylor’s first job in the scientific field was a challenging one. He’d moved to Nashville to do his post-doctoral research and was put on the project of male fertility control. “It was all about attempting to characterize binding proteins,” Taylor remembered. “The thing about the human body is that almost nothing floats by itself. My job was to create markers that would trace how certain proteins go through our systems. The ultimate goal on the program was to come up with an effective male fertility control…”
And
“Now retired, Taylor bought a house in Pioneer in 2005. He still works part-time for the state, but most of his energy these days goes into his two biggest hobbies – astrology and outdoor photography. Taylor has two powerful telescopes designed for scientifically-minded star-gazing, and thinks his Upcountry homestead is the perfect place for observing Jupiter or the moon. “One of the reasons I moved here is because in order to get involved with the astrology community, you need to live some place where there are dark skies…”

Do You Cop To Having An Interest In Astrology? How Do You Handle Skeptics?
Astrology in Real Life
Do you admit to being an astrologer or to having an interest in astrology? If so, how do people react and how do you react to their reaction?
I am challenged only very rarely and I don’t react at all. In fact, the last time I was challenged was in 2000. I remember this because it started me writing! I posted a link to an article on a study by British Telephone that found people did talk more when the Moon was full and a science-minded guy (codasaurus) came on the board to flame me.
I told him I could care less what he thought of astrology but added that astrologer, Dennis Elwell cared very deeply what people like him thought and perhaps he should read his book, Cosmic Loom: The New Science of Astrology
.
“It is written for people like you,” I said. “He is addressing the scientific community, he likes to do this but I do not. What do you think? You think just because you see a passing-by astrologer, they are going to want to stop and argue with you? You’re out of your mind…”
But unable to comprehend the fact you cannot make someone be interested in something (arguing with skeptics) they find boring, codasaurus kept coming. And he came back and back and back until he launched my writing and the rest is history. I have been writing daily for nearly 8 years now.
If you cop to an interest in astrology, what are your experiences with skeptics?
