Big Fish In A Little Pond Syndrome: Resisting Saturn

September 9th, 2011 @ 7:29 pm by Satori

“Listen up, you little spazoids. I know where you live and I’ve seen where you sleep. I swear to everything holy that your mothers will cry when they see what I’ve done to you.”
–Michelle, Tommy Boy

fat guy in a little coat (Tommy Boy)In the movie Tommy Boy, Chris Farley plays a character who has lived an extended adolescence and faced with a crisis in his family and the family business is forced to grow up quickly. Spending years in college in a fraternity atmosphere he has become a “big fish in a little pond.” He has resisted the external pressure (Saturn) to grow up (more Saturn). Eventually he is squeezed (Saturn) out of the position that is no longer working for him.

Saturn, Fate And Opportunity

August 30th, 2011 @ 6:33 pm by Satori

“Fate leads he who follows it, and drags he who resists.”
–Plutarch

The Little Prince and the BaobabsI have a friend who is starting a new job tomorrow. She has transiting Saturn exact on her IC. The IC is Moon-ruled and the Moon conjuncts Saturn tomorrow. The Moon is feeling, the IC is home and Saturn is restriction. Saturn on the Moon or the IC can bring emotional restriction and fear, which is pretty normal when anticipating a new job situation. The IC is part of the MC/IC axis which signifies career vs. home No doubt this new job will affect the way she splits her energy between career and home, create restriction though not necessarily in a negative way, definitely boundary-setting.

Saturn Aspecting Personal Planets

May 14th, 2011 @ 6:00 pm by Satori

“A man may fulfill the object of his existence by asking a question he cannot answer, and attempting a task he cannot achieve.”
–Oliver Wendell Holmes

gavelSaturn is responsibility, slow-down, restriction, “do the right thing,” and judgement. Saturn in the houses will show where we have responsibility, but it doesn’t necessarily show how we treat that responsibility or how we feel about it. Do you have Saturn aspecting a personal planet? Do you judge yourself?

Standing In Front Of The Judge

February 11th, 2011 @ 11:03 am by Elsa

Astrology in real life

When you have a Saturn transit, invariably Saturn figures cross your path. I had to go court yesterday with three people opposing me.

I go to court a lot and I always have.  With one recent exception, I always represent myself.  This is not to say I’m comfortable in court because I’m not. I do it because it is what makes sense to me in each instance.

In whatever case, I went to court and decided to ask the judge if I could be excused from the case. Obviously, I thought this was reasonable.

zodiac game horoscope

I am learning about how people relate and I didn’t mean to, but I came across the name, John Gottman who is a psychologist who wrote among other things, The Mathematics of Marriage: Dynamic Nonlinear Models.

This guy studied relationship in an effort to be able to predict who would divorce and who would not with very limited data and he came up with a super effective formula. He claims that if he can can listen to a couple talk about *anything, for an hour, he can predict with 95% accuracy if they will be married or divorced within 15 years. If he listens for just 15 minutes, he can still predict this with 90% accuracy.

Goat Notes! Saturn Transits: The Real Deal, Like It Or Lump It ;-)

May 12th, 2010 @ 2:00 pm by Elsa

Astrology in real life

From a consult – Goat notes on Saturn’s transit through Libra:

First there is a lack… an ache, a loneliness. This has purpose as it shows a person something has to be done.
Next the person finds they are the person who is going to have to do the something.
Next they snap their fingers, see if that will work.
Doesn’t work.
Next they decide to apply themselves.
Next they find out this is harder than they thought it would be.
Next they keep going because going back or failing is more painful / harder than pushing through towards achieving.
Eventually they achieve…

Saturn Leaving Virgo For Libra And Thinking In Terms Of 7 Years

October 27th, 2009 @ 9:30 am by Elsa

Astrology in real life

When Saturn leaves Virgo for Libra it crosses the horizon of a natural chart ending it’s transit of the 2nd quadrant and crossing the horizon which is significant. That Pluto has also just crossed an angle intensifies the effect as I’ve mentioned.

Pluto, now in the 4th quadrant is very slow moving and won’t wrap up there until 2065 so there is not much use thinking about it on a personal level but Saturn is a different story. The 28-29 year Saturn cycle can be viewed as a whole but also in 7 year chunks, where each quadrant represents a stage in the process as pictured.
