canary_coal_mine.gifRe-posting this with an update because 81 banks have failed this year and analysts say 150-200 more will probably fail.
About the failing banks, mine (Netbank) failed in 2007. I was with Netbank for about 9 years and one day I signed on and was gone. As soon as I saw the (government) notice, I knew two things:

Here’s A Little Tip When You’re Dealing With Genius…

August 11th, 2009 @ 4:51 pm by Elsa

Astrology in real life

virgoI know more than my share of very intelligent people and if you want them to talk to you, you’ve got to pretend they (and the things they say) are normal. You have got to contain your shock, your offense, your outrage or whatever else it is you feel at the fact they operate outside your realm and beyond your control because innovators with big ideas rarely have bedside manner or the ability to coddle you.

If you think about it, your expectation they do is way off base. What? They are supposed to come up with all the ideas, things you would not think of if you had a million years and then share them with you and what are you supposed to do, hmm? Tell them how they should act? On top of all that, you are going to dictate to them? I don’t think so.

This message brought to you by Mercury conjunct Saturn in Virgo. The mind (and the mouth) you get to control is your own.

Saturn In Virgo: “It’s never too late to do the right thing.”

July 24th, 2009 @ 8:46 am by Elsa

Ask the collective

“It’s never too late to do the right thing.”

The soldier said that this morning and I felt it very relieving.

Do you agree?

Saturn in Virgo Anthem – “Trying To Keep The Customer Satisfied”

July 21st, 2009 @ 8:51 pm by Elsa

Outtakes and various other sundries

I grew up with this song, I probably heard it 1000 times or more and I always related to it. It really speaks to Saturn in Virgo, burden of work, barely keeping on top of it all, in constant trouble, oppressive words, lowly position…

“You’re in trouble, boy and heading into more…” Ha ha ha!

What I loved about it (then and now) is it’s exuberance in spite. Also the great irony because he says he wants to be home but I was home when heard this song and I wanted out there so bad… so bad that I left… and left… and left… and left…

Enjoy and keep this one in your archives when you’re slavin’ away for the perennially dissatisfied. ;-)

To Live In Reality Is To Be Anti-Social? POLL

July 19th, 2009 @ 12:20 pm by Elsa

Astrology in real life

I am a grounded person, one with common sense. I am astonished at how these qualities have made me some kind pariah these days but I just can’t seem to deactivate my brain.

For example when some guy gets on youtube and holds up a letter that essentially say,  “Hey, Chuck, get rid of this guy… if you kill him, we won’t prosecute you,” and it is signed “George Bush”, I tend to think someone is jerking my chain.

Discerning Lies

July 14th, 2009 @ 9:22 am by Elsa

Astrology in real life

Saturn is squaring Venus in Gemini right now and this anecdote illustrates the energy brilliantly. The soldier has Venus in Gemini so I am the Saturn in Virgo figure of course.  He was telling me about this guy he knew who used to lie all the time.  The was guy was just a total liar, he loved to lie and in fact they would have lying contests.  “I’ll tell you some of his lies,” the soldier offered.

Saturn In Virgo: The Responsibility Of The Blog Writer vs The Blog Reader

July 12th, 2009 @ 8:15 pm by Elsa

Astrology in real life

From email:

I feel like I write a million words and if you read them eventually you will come across one that offends you.

What kills me is I am supposed to decide what might potentially provoke one of thousands of people rather than the other person maybe cutting me some slack or giving me the benefit of the doubt?

I have no idea where the piles of crap I can step in might be because I don’t know the triggers of thousands of people but I do think the onus is on the reader at least as much as it is on me to try to think before they move to react to control or squash.

I mean, if I am really a harsh bitch (and I am sure some think I am) – they are reading the wrong blog.

If I am not a harsh bitch and prove it day in and day out then maybe it is the reader who ought to get a grip.

capricornLast week I wrote about my sister’s idea it took about 3 years for a person to understand who they were dealing with, if they were ever going to be able to understand. She was concerned about my heart.

Meanwhile the soldier got in touch with of his friends from SF who I of course contacted, with pictures and a chatty mail. ::rolls eyes::

Saturn in Virgo Small Animal Report: Snob

July 9th, 2009 @ 7:05 pm by Elsa

Astrology in real life

“Cluck is over there talking to the neighbor dog,’ I told the soldier. I was standing in the backyard talking on the phone watching Lucky commune with the dog next door through the fence.

“Dora ignores that dog.”

“Yeah, she does. She wants nothing to do with it.”

“Yeah, Dora is a snob. A snob! She must have come to Puerto Rico from France,” he said.
