Synastry: Relationships And The Moon by Satori

January 12th, 2012 @ 3:13 pm by Satori

“What does not satisfy when we find it, was not the thing we were desiring.”
-C.S. Lewis

If I were to have to pick the most potent part of synastry, chart comparison, in evaluating relationships it would definitely be the Moon. The Moon by sign, element and aspect illustrates what feeds us, what satisfies. Each Moon signature provides a manual for the care and feeding of that individual. The Moon does not necessarily relate to what you think you want, but it will tell you what you need.

Synastry vs Composite Charts

August 31st, 2011 @ 9:44 am by Elsa

Just Blathering…

zodiac old horoscope loveA reader asks:

“In your style, do you feel composite charts are more, less or just as significant as synastry? I know that every astrologer has a different style & preference. Just wondering what your take on it is. Are they both different but hold just the same weight of importance?”

I think they are both significant but for different things. Synastry shows how two people interact. She feels thwarted by him. He feels supported by her. They butt heads all the time, or whatever.

Relationship Advice Books And Archetypes

July 5th, 2011 @ 3:16 pm by Satori

“And stand together yet not too near together:
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other’s shadow.”
–The Prophet, Khalil Gibran

PlatoMy definition of the term archetype is the purely hypothetical form of an innate model of human roles. It is the pure quality of the idea of the role that is more or less static from culture to culture. Different philosophers give different names to them; astrology defines them by sign. Aries is man. Libra is woman. Cancer is mother. Capricorn is father. We are able to categorize our very individual selves by the blending of differing amounts of these astrological archetypes.

The Most Effective Love Advice

July 4th, 2011 @ 3:42 pm by Satori

“Be as you are, as you see as I am I am.”
–James Taylor

BSUR SUCSIMIMEvery few years or so I buy an exceptionally embarrassing (to me) self-help book, the type of book where I’d likely set myself on fire before I’d confidently display it on my bookshelf. The other day I was rearranging my books, looking for ones to donate and “Why Men Love Bitches” by Sherry Argov fell out from behind a row of phenomenological philosophers. So I re-read it.

Tomorrow, Mars in Gemini will square Neptune. This spells “gaslighting” on one level which is a subject I like. Here is an old post on the topic, and you can click the tag for more.

I almost never come across a book this good. Though it is rated 5 stars in 4 reviews on Amazon, I think it’s pretty scarce. They did not have a copy in the Denver Public Library system but I was able to borrow if from Denver University Library and I was surprised when I got the copy because it was written in 1996 and appears to have never been read.

Just the title should have sold this thing, you’d think. Gaslighting, the Double Whammy, Interrogation and Other Methods of Covert Control in Psychotherapy and Analysis by Theo. L. Dorpat so I will leave others to explain that and just tell you this is an extraordinary book.

Getting Good Results Via The Hard Aspects In Your Chart

June 16th, 2011 @ 6:35 am by Elsa

Astrology in real life…

venus at her mirror Vel¡zquezSay you’ve got a problem and let’s say you’ve got the hang of astrology or perhaps you consult an astrologer and they isolate some problem or pathology to a specific aspect in your chart. Now what?

If the astrologer is me, they will tell you the energy is yours and that energy is neutral until directed, meaning you can find a positive way to channel it. I haven’t written specifically on this topic so I thought I’d start.

Rejection – The Relationship Fails, Now Whose Fault Is It?

June 6th, 2011 @ 11:24 am by Elsa

Astrology in real life

With Saturn in Libra people are being rejected right and left. In some cases this is new experience for them and whether the rejection is warranted or not, it’s painful.

This made me go looking at posts tagged “rejection” and I found this from 2008. I was talking to my husband about an old love of mine…

“I have been thinking about him lately and wondering what he came up with. Do you suppose he’s told himself a story about how awful I am? Or do you think he sees it in another light?”

“He’s probably told himself a story,” he replied.

“He may have a whole story constructed by now and then if becomes reality even if it’s not real. Why do people do that?”

“It’s a defense,” he said.

“Against what?”

Relationships and Astrology of Dating: One Woman’s Experiences

May 26th, 2011 @ 12:52 pm by Annalisa

Annalisa on Dating

DatingI have had a very rich dating life and enjoy a lot of friendships with many different sun signs! I happen to have had a career that brings with it the opportunity to date many men as I have been a dancer, model and singer with Grammy winning musicians. I happen to have the body that seems to be the coveted shape in being tall, thin with a dancer’s body that is long-legged. The way you look, unfortunately, has a lot to do with dating and relationships starting so I have had the experience of spending time with many different people. I got it into my mind to date every sign at least once to see what they were like, not taking into consideration their chart, just their sun sign to make things easy! Yes, it was a game of sorts but my thoughts were that if I met “the one” I would luck out and the experiment would prove a great idea! I’m not talking sex with each sign, just spending time, dates or hanging out with each Sun Sign!

Ask the Collective…

venus sleepingFrom 2007 -

What if you’re single and you’ve had a string of lousy and/or very short-lived relationships over the course of several years.  You’ve had some involvements or even a lot of involvements but none of the people you’ve mixed it up with was very good for you so you’re getting nowhere.
