The Quincunx Aspect

The aspect of the quincunx (sometimes referred to as the inconjunct) is usually not characterized as a major aspect, but I think it should be. It’s measured as 150 degrees from point to point, and most astrologers keep its orb small, two or three degrees. By orb one means only two or three degrees off exact. I’ll err a bit further if it’s the Sun or Moon involved or an important planet like the chart ruler.

Astrology And Valentines Day! Oh Boy, CANDY! by satori

Valentine’s Day is the second solar return of the meeting chart with my sweetie so I’ve been scrutinizing it, of course. I’m trying to figure out whether I’m going to get lots of candy or have a piano fall on me from a great height. Those are usually the two options I experience.

The chart of the day looks pretty decent, really, could be worse (RUN, RUN, IT’S A BEAR!). In fact I find it’s fairly instructive for a chart, seeing as I’m the one looking at it and it doesn’t have illustrations and safety handrails. One thing that stands out to me: two yods. Okay, two things stand out to me.

Leo embarrasses Capricorn, I can tell you. If you have planets in both these signs like I do, it’s positively creepy because the Leo side never grows up and the Capricorn side is nothing less than mortified at an adult behaving in a way that his childlike.

However, with Venus in Leo, this is exactly what I do. This is reality (Capricorn) and when it happens, when one side of me catches the other, well hell. I just don’t know how to resolve this and here is an example…
