Your Progressed Chart

March 22nd, 2012 @ 7:02 am by Elsa

Astrology in real life.

I think of life as a story unfolding. The Progressed chart is one way to track your personal story. The idea is that a person develops over time. They “progress”.

I was born a Capricorn rising and have progressed to an Aries rising which I really like. I like it because it gives me a natural chart and there is strength inherent in that. For newbies, this because all the planets in their various signs fall into their natural houses. There is a purity about that. Leo in the 5th house, Scorpio in the 8th, etc.

Your chart progresses very slowly but when a shifts occur, they tend to be epic. If you’re satisfied with your progressed chart, you’ll be in no hurry for anything to change. If you’re in a jam, it can be excruciating.

Right now, I have fantastic progressed chart. I’m an Aries rising with ruler Mars in Scorpio in the 8th which is what I call, hard to kill. Wolverine, basically. What’s interesting to me, is that I’ve not always been this way. I have developed into this type character over the years, so there’s your story.

The Progressed Moon

July 15th, 2011 @ 7:00 pm by Satori

“Say it’s only a paper Moon, hanging over a cardboard sea, but it wouldn’t be make believe if you believed in me.”
–Paper Moon

Paper MoonThe progressed chart is symbolic. It is calculated by moving the chart forward one day (past your birth) for each year that passes. It is reflective of how our personalities unfold over time. In the progressed chart it is the Moon that moves the fastest and changes sign most often, every few years or so. If reflects changing emotional attitudes and needs. This system doesn’t overpower the birth chart but rather adds a flavor in the moment.

Did anybody hear that? That “audible click?” Sorry for the cliche collocates but it’s the only way to accurately describe The change.

Or is it? No, there are countless ways I could describe it. Perhaps as the sound my fist made as I punched through that self spun mache that is the encapsulating progressed Scorpio moon, yeah that sounds good.

My options just keep unfurling!

Progressed Moon in Scorpio – Reproduction and Transformation

March 1st, 2011 @ 7:10 am by Nota

Planets in Placements

I was 27. My progressed moon had just entered Scorpio conjunct my natal moon. Yes, the return of the progressed moon to the natal position, also known as the precursor to the Saturn return.

I had to cancel a party due to strange circumstances and I took it as some sort of sign that a shift had occurred. The universe didn’t want me to have that party. Things like that were very potent at the time. I needed to be alone.

I started sneaking into an apartment pool down the street and swimming laps in the afternoons before work. I went on long solo bike rides seeking meaning in the scenery. I thought about sex constantly.

Progressed Moon in Libra – Party Planning and Partnering.

February 28th, 2011 @ 7:00 am by Nota

Planets in Placements

I was 25. My progressed moon was in Libra. I planned the biggest blowout party of my whole party planning life. Chinese New Year at the infamous House on Fry Street. I also fell in love.

About 6 months earlier, TK and I parted ways. He stayed in the apartment and I moved out to go back to school. I answered an ad on Craigslist. “Big house looking for a roommate who doesn’t suck.” Everyone there was younger than me, but they only wanted $200 for a huge upstairs room. I took it.

Progressed Moon in Virgo – Compulsive Finger Counting

February 27th, 2011 @ 10:11 pm by Nota

Planets in Placements

Talking about the sign of the progressed moon on the boards today. Some people mentioned being miserable in Virgo. Well, not so much miserable, but uncomfortable. Need to be correct in my representation for Virgo’s Sake!

The other day I was thinking about my own experiences under the progressed Virgo moon. I briefly mentioned it here.

My progressed moon was in Virgo when I was 24. That was the year I started counting the hours. I was working at a coffee shop and consistently picking up shifts for anyone who asked. I didn’t see it as me doing them a favor. I saw it as them giving me more money, but I was also not ignorant to the fact that I came out looking helpful.

Surreal Family Antics by My Neptune in the 4th

February 22nd, 2011 @ 6:27 am by Nota

Hopefully Coherent Ramblings

Several references to Kenny Rogers around here recently and I am reminded of “Cousin Gerard.”

This was at the tail end of my Pluto to natal Neptune transit and I woke up in Las Vegas. We were staying with my boyfriend’s aunt from his mother’s side of the family, the Chinese side. While we were there his father, the travelling professor phoned to tell us that “Cousin Gerard” from Austria would be joining us. It was a very Wes Anderson-esque extended family comedy situation.

When The Progressed Moon Changes Signs, There Is A Fundamental Personality Change

September 27th, 2010 @ 7:00 am by Elsa

Astrology in Real Life…

geminiWhen my Moon progresses to a new sign, invariably there is a fundamental change in my personality.  This is from back when my progressed Moon was in Gemini.

“cf, its dog. How are you?” I asked.

“I’m good, dog. I’m great. How are you girlfriend?”

“Aaaah. I’m calling you for some gossip. Got some?”

She laughed. “Gossip?”

Progressed Moon Changing Signs…

April 2nd, 2009 @ 9:01 am by Elsa

Astrology in real life

luna moonYour progressed Moon changes signs about ever 2 1/2 years and in my case there is always a shift that stuns me. My Moon recently changed signs and what happened is I stopped going to the gym.

I am a gym rat and I have been for YEARS. I have gone to the gym 4-6 week (prefer to go every day) for the last 6 or 7 years. Prior to that, my kids were young but before I had kids, I was also at the gym most days.

Before I joined a gym, I was a very physical job with Frito Lay and you get the idea – I have always worked out in one form or the other but my progressed Moon changed signs and I am now making it to the gym about twice a month which is the same as not going at all.
