The Popularity Of Tom Hanks: Cancer Sun, Leo Moon

May 29th, 2011 @ 6:24 pm by Satori

“If you have to have a job in this world, a high-priced movie star is a pretty good gig.”
–Tom Hanks

Joe vs. the VolcanoTom Hanks is a talented and affable actor. I’ve been looking at the astrology of popularity lately and thought, “Who doesn’t like Tom Hanks?” Well, there are probably eleven people out there who don’t, but exceptions prove the rule. He’s a handsome man, pleasant looking with Virgo rising and Venus aspecting the ascendent, but not devastatingly so as to attract resentment.

Popularity: Venus, Mars And The Ascendent

May 28th, 2011 @ 2:16 pm by Satori

“Popularity should be no scale for the election of politicians. If it would depend on popularity, Donald Duck and The Muppets would take seats in senate.”
–Orson Welles

Kermit the FrogWhat makes a person popular? You don’t have to be nice to be popular. You don’t have to physically attractive to be popular. To my mind, popularity is when the majority of people in your sphere want to be associated with you. There are lots of roads to the same destination, but one I’ve noticed has to do the Venus, Mars and the ascendent.

The ascendent/descendent axis is associated with Venus and Mars, Venus ruling the 7th and Mars ruling the 1st. Venus and the 7th house have to do with your aesthetic and what attracts you. Mars and the 1st house is associated with the way you act and how you go about getting what you want. The ascendent itself, the 1st house cusp, represents one’s appearance, both physical and that of the personality, how we’re seen on the surface.

character-assasination.jpgFrom 2008

Speaking of popularity as we have over the last week, there are two people in my life who have recently had their character assassinated in their communities. I guess you might say these two are “darkly popular” and I had conversations with both of them this week from opposite sides of the issue.

I asked one of them what kind of person does this to another? What is going on inside someone who lies about a series of events to devastate another person’s reputation with malice?

Popularity, Football, Lipstick And The Venus Uranus Quirk Around Here

July 16th, 2008 @ 12:44 pm by Elsa

Astrology in real life

crooked_large.jpgPeople have been remarking and in some cases complaining about my crooked lipstick for about 20 years which is about how long I have been wearing lipstick. I thought I had this resolved for the most part a few years back. The AMF said I was cured for example and I should no longer be mentioning it on my (other) blog so I thought that was that. But apparently not. Apparently I am still askew because last night the soldier mentioned this.

The soldier this is, who has not got a fashion conscious bone in his body. The soldier who states he has been wearing the same clothes since he was 12 years old and says that he sees no problem with this.

“Yeah, I see you like that sometimes and I laugh about it on my way to work. That’s my, P!” he said brightly.

Open Question: “How Do You Want To Be Seen By The Public?

May 1st, 2008 @ 6:02 am by Elsa

Ask the collective

public-opinion.jpgKingsley writes on People You Know Or Think You Know

I would be interested to know how you would like to be seen by your readers Elsa.

Perhaps the missing part of really “knowing someone”, that is, the lack of body language over the internet may have a different result when standing next to the person.

Idiot savant?

That’s an interesting question, Kingsley and I don’t think I care.  With Saturn and Neptune mashed, I don’t think I have the ability to care what the public thinks.

I like the idea people are provoked and/or challenged, moved and/or soothed by my work and beyond that I don’t think about it much. I very much have a ninth house perspective about my writing – I put it out here and then whatever.  It is up to the fates how or if it is received.

The problems come when people try to interact with what turns out to be my hologram.  At that point there are problems for them and problems for me.

The problem exists backwards in my real life where I am routinely misjudged and problems are created when my “voice” does not match what they see or think they see in real life.

How do you want to be seen by the public?

How Do You Feel About Being Popular? Good? Bad? Indifferent?

Ask the collective

secondhand lionsKingsley wrote on the Salina, Kansas blog:

“Its good to be popular that’s for sure”

Kingsley, that is interesting because just last week I was discussing this with a friend. She said most people desired to be popular and/or famous and did not understand people who did not. I am someone who does not and the soldier is someone for whom that goes double.
