I first time someone told me they were disturbed by a political ad on my blog (for McCain) I was surprised. But now it has happened 3 times (most recently on Astro Dispatch - check it out).

In all three cases the person who complained said the ad (all of these were McCain ads) interfered with their ability to enjoy content. I am just blown away by this.

Do people know that google serves the ads – the blogger does not select them? Will people boycott their favorite blogs over an ad served by google?

Fascinating and terrifying.

It’s killer out there for someone like me. For one thing I have gifted / cursed with Libra and I have no choice at all but to see both sides of any issue. If you have Libra yourself, I expect you understand but if not try to understand there are people out there who find it almost impossible to pick a side. Family feud? Libra see that both Mom and Sis have a point. Further when people like me encounter your extreme position we feel pretty near compelled to counter it. To move you toward the opposite pole in order to balance things.

Well let me tell you something. Pull a Libra move today and you’re liable to get nuked. People think what they think and if you say anything even remotely counter it, they immediately grab a hammer and begin beating you with it.

So is the very clean Hugh Grant… who was caught cheating on his model girlfriend with a whore, Divine Brown. Whoops!

How are these for examples of secret lives?

And don’t go jumping on this because there are other, classier examples. For example, Virgo, Sophia Loren. Years ago when a reporter yelled at her, “Hey Sophia! What are you doing with that old man?” (Carlo Ponti)

The soldier and I were discussing the 2008 Presidential election the other night and yesterday I spoke with Jacquie Bigar on the subject. Now I know one astrologer who feels that Obama will win by a landslide but the soldier, Jacquie and I all feel the choice for Vice President is absolutely critical in this election. So here is 3-part question:

What pairing would make the strongest democratic ticket? How about the republican ticket? And ultimately…

I was talking to the soldier the other day or rather he was talking to me about politics and he asked what I thought about something.”I don’t know. I don’t think about that stuff at all. I don’t listen to any of it, I don’t think it matters.”

Silence.

I see it’s going to break $100 a barrel and that’s supposed to be a big deal? Well now it’s at $112 and I know the effects of this first hand. I worked for Frito Lay for years. I know what happens when the price of gas goes up. I told you I saw 12 flour tortillas priced at $4.65 in the store last week. How are people supposed to pay $5 for a stack of flour and water? Tortillas are poverty food! People are going to get to the store and find they can’t afford to buy food. Now that is real and what some guy on CNN is saying to fill up air time is of no consequence whatsoever as far as I am concerned. How long can we stay in denial? Forever? Somehow I don’t think so.”
