Astrology And The US Midterm Elections: November 2, 2010

My eye on the sky

vote buttonI am not a mundane astrologer but I am very interested in trends and the collective mood and the like. Traditionally, an astrologer would look at the chart on election day to call the results. They may have a lot of success with their method but it ‘s faulty from my perspective simply because so many people vote early.

The idea is that the chart would show the leanings on the day people pull the lever or push a button. These days we lick stamps, days in advance or we drive to designated locations to drop off our ballots so I think this limits the usefulness of the transits on election day. I do think we can gain insight by looking at the charts on the days after the election, though.

Beth writes on Alarming Lack Of Compassion… Endless Generosity:

“I’ve noticed this. Sort of an “if you aren’t on my approved list, you can get run over for all I care.”

I responded:

Agreed. And everyone goes in *someones” kill pile. Even the people who say they don’t have a kill pile. Ask a few pointed questions and they start spewing too.

A few days ago, I asked on the boards: How would you propose healing the divide in the United States. There were some interesting remarks but I think I asked the wrong the question.

Saturn and Uranus were opposed during the 2008 election. The country was divided at that time… it has been for awhile and if anything the two sides are more polarized than ever.

Saturn and Uranus will oppose again the last week of April, 2010 and again, July 2010 and I wonder if others are beginning to think as I am – that the two sides may never come together.

This would change our country dramatically as we are the “United States” so here is my new question:

Do you think our polarized society can bridge it’s differences and come together? If not, what consequences do you see?

Astrology And The 2010 Election – Questioning The Validity Of The Chart

November 7th, 2009 @ 3:24 pm by Elsa

Astrology in real life

I was looking at the chart of the 2010 election but I wonder just how much weight it should be given.  For example if you are going to look at the Moon as an indicator of the mood of the people it is not going to tell you anything about people like me who mailed in our ballots 10 days prior.

That led me to try to find out what percentage of people mail in their ballots and I know it is growing and think it’s high. I was unable to find a national statistic but in this area a whopping 67% mail in their ballots.

Saturn, Capricorn And Long Term Consequences

November 2nd, 2009 @ 8:54 am by Elsa

Astrology in real life

The opposition in astrology is the one most intriguing to me. A year ago I was reading about how Uranus was going to trounce all over Saturn and rolling my eyes.  The planets were in opposition and the old man was supposed to get his ass kicked I guess. It made no sense to me outside of the fact people have their bias and their blind spots.

Saturn Opposite Uranus… Noting Progress Regarding The Polarizartion Of Our Society

September 15th, 2009 @ 3:24 pm by Elsa

Astrology in real life

This is the 3rd of 5 exact oppositions of Saturn and Uranus.  The first was on November 4, 2008 coinciding with the US presidential election. While the country is more polarized than ever I can note some progress in the fact that people seem aware now that the opposition is not going away.

By that I mean that at the first pass one side won the election and that was supposed to be the end of that. This has proved not to be the case so as far off as resolution may seem, we have made progress in that both sides can now see one another.

Your thoughts?

I’ve started writing about Saturn’s transit through Libra (tag), so far focusing on general affects in the collective. Saturn is exalted in Libra and while this goes a long way it is not going to spare Librans from shouldering a burden with Saturn in their sign and I am starting to get some ideas how this might manifest.

loon loonsoundsAries – Frankly, the process of the US elections is one of systematic discrimination against the Aries people and one which endorses flagrant suppression of the average Rams vote. We mean seriously, everyone knows that Aries Rams are astro-genetically incapable of waiting in any line which is projected to exceed more than 3 to 5 minutes wait time. Therefore, very few of Arians are ever able to cast even a single vote in any national US election, and especially not in this one! Three, four, five hours, what the fuck, who are we trying to kid here?! Therefore and clearly, our 12 percent of the US population voice is systematically suppressed and silenced every time there is a national vote which might have waiting lines associated with it. A new system should be put into place whereby, if there must be lines, all Aries voters will automatically be placed at the front of the line so that we can, and will, be in our own rightful place, namely, first.

vote-button.jpgThe soldier and I have both filled out our ballots and will drop them off this week. As anyone who remotely follows astrology (blogs) knows, Saturn and Uranus will be in exact opposition on Election day, Neptune having turned direct the day before. Add all that up and anything is possible.

Personally, I can’t wait to be rid of these ballots. People in my circle do not discuss politics much (at least not overtly) but I feel (or at least I imagine) that all my relationships are strained because of it which is something I’ve never experienced before. If this opposition is in tight aspect to personal planets in your chart, I bet you’re having a similar experience.
