Astrology, News And Publishing Post Pluto’s Transit Of Sagittarius

Astrology in real life

obama.jpgThis morning I updated the soldier on the news around Obama’s choice for Vice President. As I mentioned, we both think the choice of VP is going to be critical in the election.

“Hilary does not seem to be on the screen at all,” I said. “As to what is being reported.”

“Hmm.”

“Thing is, we really have no idea what is going on. They do not report in actual news. The job is to put something up there that provokes people, and whether or not it’s based in reality is irrelevant. Just churn something out and next day, do it again. It’s come to a point where it’s pointless to read the news, it’s pretty much meaningless.”

“It’s as bad here as it has been in the UK and their press is notorious…”

This is where I think we are post Pluto’s rout through journalism (Sagittarius). There is no way to get real news at the moment. There is no standard, ethics or any other damned thing.

Do you agree or no? Is there a news source you trust? (And by the way, who is your pick for VP to Obama?)

Eeyore And The Dirty Nasty Job – Clean Up After Mass Suicide At Jamestown

mrclean.jpgRegarding the soldier being sent to clean up the 913 dead bodies at Jamestown, Jilly wrote:

“Gawd, what a job.”

Deirdre added:

“I mean really”

We were eating lunch on a bike ride yesterday, I was quizzing the soldier about his experience at Jonestown. Specifically interested in his impression given his beliefs (Catholic… against suicide). Pluto in Sagittarius – death by belief again, this time for real.

Do You Believe In Astrology? If So Beware The Undertow

June 19th, 2008 @ 6:53 am by Elsa

Ask the collective

belief_intention.jpgI would say that Pluto’s retrograde transit back into Sagittarius has got me by the balls if I had a pair. Since I don’t, let’s just say I am being held close in, next the fire. At the moment I am both treated and tortured with a myopic view of the power (for good or ill) of Sagittarius things like storytelling and you beliefs. For example, astrology.

What if I “believe” in astrology and this causes me to look at a person’s chart (in this case, the chart of the soldier’s son), draw conclusions and then act on them? What if I see our Moons are conjunct, our ascendants are conjunct, my Mars and Mercury are conjunct his Venus and so on and on and based on my ability to discern what that means I act in a specific way?

How does that compare to how I would act if I did not have this ability?

Are you unnerved yet?

bullhorn.jpgThat full moon was hellacious for many. Speaking of communicating the metaphysical, I was talking to the soldier last night while experiencing the recoil I experience after intense communication with his son which has become routine.

“It would be much easier to just shut the hell up. My whole blog is like this as well. I say all this stuff and people react to it. Sometimes it gets in their craw, something I did not intend and I have to deal with it. You were in the same position when you were in Special Forces. It’s so easy for people to mistake what you are doing for. Oh, you like to kill people. They just assign this to you as your motivation that has nothing to do with reality. Oh, he’s up to this and this and this when in reality – Well it’s delusional. Soldier comes home from war and they say, oh he was killing babies. I mean what the hell? What’s that got to do with what the person was actually doing?”

Craig Ferguson On Alcoholism, Gossip And Kicking People While They Are Down

June 9th, 2008 @ 5:50 am by Elsa

Outtakes and various other sundries

Everybody knows how I feel about gossip and in particular, kicking people when they are down:

Mr. Blackwell’s 48th Annual Worst-Dressed List – Finally, Some Decorum

satori sent me clip. Craig Ferguson Speaks From The Heart about his alcoholism and his rethinking mocking and making jokes about people in crisis.

I think this trend was a result of Pluto (and Jupiter) in Sagittarius and I hope with all my heart it’s seen it’s heyday.

hula_hoop.jpg“It’s going to go back to when only rich people can fly,” I told the soldier.  “Remember when it was like that?”  I had just read this article:
Continental becomes latest U.S. airline to cut service

Basically they are grounding planes, laying off employees and raising prices simultaneously.

“It will only stay that way so long,” he said. “And then it will go right back the way it was, just as soon as people quit flying and there are not enough rich people to sustain them.”

“I don’t know about that. Eventually yes but it may be a long time recovering. I don’t think it’s that easy to get your customer back once you lose them. People are funny with their habits. Once they change them, you’ve got a problem.”

fool.jpgsatori writes on Pluto’s Last Gasp:

“It seems interesting to me that juno is traveling right alongside Pluto along the sagg/cap cusp. it’s even turned retro at the same time. might be the herald of what you’re talking about re traditional marriage. “

satori – Good catch. That is definitely possible but does not feel personal to me. Having a 7th house Uranus, I don’t think in “traditional marriage”.

I mentioned men, women and parenting in the blog and my comment in the comments was in regards to something else – namely the fact that everything old is new again… eventually.

newspaper.jpgPluto is transiting retrograde, about to leave Capricorn for Sagittarius for it’s last little round-up in the sign. It won’t be back for approximately 240 years and I got to thinking about what this might mean for the individual. Might it be a last chance to get rid a belief or philosophy (Sagittarius-ruled things) that has outlived it’s usefulness?

This has probably already occurred for most of us. There are things we once believed that we probably no longer believe but I wonder how conscious people are of the shift and decided most likely – not very. So can we benefit from increased consciousness?

plutonianPluto’s shift from Sagittarius to Capricorn is sure to bringing new focus and sweeping change. What would you like to see be done like dinner?

Personally, I am sick of gossip and celebrity death and/or weight-watching. I don’t care what these people are doing. Real people are more interesting by far.

I am also sick of looking at everyone’s crotch. For Godsakes put your clothes on. What is it that makes everyone think they have to had a naked picture of themselves on the internet? I’m sick of it! It was something to see in 1980 but with the sea of flesh out there now, you’d get way more attention keeping your clothes on, duh.

Those are my main two – now you go.

Elsa, I am sick of…

Pluto In Sagittarius, Snakes And Church

December 27th, 2007 @ 8:40 am by Elsa

Astrology in real life

snakeSagittarius is associated with religion, Pluto with snakes…

“Yeah, she calls me up when she’s got snakes,” the soldier said. “She sees a snake on her porch, couple of them and she calls me. She’s got a son but she still calls me.”

“Not surprised.”
