Reality Check 2011 – The Economy And Various Other Sundries

December 30th, 2010 @ 1:11 pm by Elsa

Astrology in real life

This is a 2011 topic for the Colosseum but I want to at least flirt with some of this stuff at large, risky as it may be.

It’s my contention that all the fake stuff we thought we saw when Jupiter was conjunct Neptune is going to fall now, or erase. The veil will drop, the backlash will arrive, reality will emerge, etc.

Reality is pretty gross when you look at it in comparison what you can see with your rose-colored classes. But it you compare reality to reality it neutralizes it.

Children Who Do Not / Cannot Surpass The Accomplishments Of Their Parents

Astrology in real life

joan christina mommie dearestThis is another one of those taboo topics in regards to parenting that I am so fond of.  With Pluto in Capricorn, I get to talk about stuff like this and I won’t bother to hide my glee.

Most parents say they want their child to have a better life than they did and I think most of them mean it. How much they actually invest in this goal may vary but I think parents who want their kids to suffer beyond what they’ve endured are part of a small minority.

Some specify they want their kids to have a better opportunity then they did so they work hard and save so they can pay for their child’s college education which might have been something they either didn’t get or had to struggle to pay for. You get the idea.  And this all goes well except for when it doesn’t.

Pluto In Capricorn: Suicidal Baby Boomers

September 7th, 2010 @ 10:20 am by Elsa

The second Saturn return

Lately I’ve worked with a several people who wish to die.  These are baby-boomer era people, heading into their second Saturn return and scanning the horizon, they just don’t like what they see up ahead.

They are facing their age. Many of them are alone, the conditions of their life are difficult and not what they’d imagined in their younger years.  They are divorced, families are broken, they do not feel valued and most importantly, they do no feel things will improve over the next ten or twenty years and they simply want to call it quits.

Yesterday I read an article, Death of the ‘McMansion’: Era of Huge Homes Is Over. Simultaneously we were discussing the the PC movement which most believe has gone too far at this point.

On the over-sized houses, it’s a no brainer.   As salaries shrink and costs rise, people realize they don’t want to heat and cool and furnish and maintain more space than they need and so they are scaling back.

Apparently things are slowing down in the family courts. Very light docket these days.

Dixie’s Daily Tarot, July 26, 2010: Pluto in Capricorn Mothering Story

Astrology Meets Tarot

judgementmaj20sI pulled this card for a reading recently, in the “final outcome” position. I’m sorry to say it spooked my client. I didn’t intend that, although I’m not surprised at her reaction. While this version is much more welcoming than the Universal Waite zombie parade, there’s no escaping the fact this is a Plutonian card.

Judgment, like Pluto itself, is not good or bad. It is, however, serious business. With  Pluto in Capricorn (in my 5th), I’ve been coming to face the darker side of my own parenting. I don’t always like it, but the karma that comes back to bite you is the karma you try to deny.

Continuing my conversation with my sister, Annalisa.

“I had this other thing come up,” I said. “I think there is such a thing as blood or a family line. Families are very different, ours is. I said that some families, the parents say, hey little darling. Please eat this bite of food. Other families say, shut up and eat!”

She laughed.

“I don’t see that one is better than the the other. If you are a Mars Mercury family like ours, it’s going to be shut up and eat! You’re going to yell.”

‘Someone said this to me yesterday,” I told, Annalisa. “It’s brilliant.  She said, all these women are single parents so they want the government to be the daddy.” I explained what I read on the the teaching kids sex in schools thread.  ‘See, they send their kid to school and daddy, the government, talks to the kid and then they come home and Mommy fills in. Get it?  The government is the new daddy for these kids.”

“That’s exactly right.”

“I think so too.  And they think they can control this thing, the government, that has no heart, no mind and no soul. They think they have control and I told them, right now the government is teaching something they may agree with. It is gay-friendly and people like that. They don’t seem to realize if they give over their rights to parent to the government, the government can start teaching something they don’t like.”

Pluto In Capricorn: Shadow Side Of Parenting Redux

July 7th, 2010 @ 6:02 pm by Elsa

Astrology in real life

When I asked for people to weigh in on the path of least resistance, it was because I was thinking about children of divorced parents or perhaps parents who were never married. I think it’s a majority of children who grow up with their parents divided at this point the results or effects of this are  pervasive and beginning to show themselves.

I’ve been dancing around this topic for a year now – the shadow side of parenting – making the claim that parenting is “broken”.  I have feel this is the case and have strong opinions about it but it’s difficult to write about because it’s so easy to trigger someone(s) defenses as people are so heavily invested in this one way or the other.
