I spoke with a client this morning who is concerned about various patterns of behavior in her past. She can point to the thing in her chart that would be the culprit and while she is not wrong, people evolve as they age and the way the express themselves changes. This process may be deliberate, but often enough we simply outgrow things, whether they be people, beliefs, hobbies, or whatever. During the consult, I compared this to hair, which grays over time. You don’t have to do anything to make your hair go gray. It’s natural.

Yesterday there was some discussion about a woman’s asexuality being pathological here and here. Turns out the soldier and I were talking about this a couple days prior. He had told me a story from his childhood.

“Now see,” I said. “Some people would say your whole life is pathological. They would say your career was over-compensation for that experience and experiences similar to that experience. What do you think about that?” (...)
Read the rest of Astrology, Psychology, Pathology – Nature, Nurture And The Chicken And The Egg (401 words)

Aspects are not going to tell you something like this. Even if you found 1000 “cowards” with a certain aspect in their chart, you could easily find 1000 non-cowards with the same aspect which would nullify your research.
For some reason, we tend to draw people who somehow fit with us. Even if we’re irritated by someone, if we examine the situation, we’re likely to realize our run-in with a person has relevance on some level. And then there are the anomalies…

I can only think of a few times in my life where I have really felt that someone wanted to pull me into some dynamic that is just not my gig, this life. It’s as if they’re trying to cast me a blonde or something. I’m not a blonde! I am so sure of this, I’m stunned when I am miscast and I’ll elaborate.

“You’re right! You’re right about this guy’s pathology, but so what? Just because you correctly identify a pattern in someone’s behavior, this does not mean they are going to change it to meet a standard that you set. They’re far more likely to do exactly what they do. It’s like saying, hey! You have blonde hair! Well so I do, they say! Even if they’re surprised at what you’ve plucked out and shown to them, they’re still very likely to just go off and live with their blonde hair as it is. A person is not going to just start making adjustments to fall into line with what you think is proper. Why would they? It’s hard to be something you’re not or to change your way of being. Very few are going to do that, there’s no motivation to make that kind of effort…”

Do you really, really understand that you’re not running the other person’s life?
