What’s the first thing you pick up on when you meet someone, astrologically speaking?
The textbook answer is the rising sign, but in practice that’s not always the case. The rising is what we put out for other people to see, it isn’t necessarily what get’s noticed first though.

Distinguishing “Need” From “Like”: The Moon Vs. Venus by Satori
“My husband said he needed more space. So I locked him outside.”
–Roseanne Barr
Something Sam said on my earlier post, Moon Square Venus, prompted me to make a distinction between moon and Venus energies. What you want can be divided into two categories, like and need. The moon placement signifies your nature in terms of need. What you need is what satisfies. Venus placement speaks of what you like, what is aesthetically pleasing. As my moon squares my Venus, what I need does not necessarily appeal to me in terms of what I like. What I like is not necessarily emotionally satisfying.

I was bent over in the hallway after Yoga class, putting on my shoes. The Scorpio guy comes up and says:
“I so wish you had been there this weekend.”
This is the same Scorpio guy I told you about before. He’s the only guy in a class full of women. The cock in the hen house.
“Oh yeah?”
I havn’t looked at his chart, but I can tell you this… He’s got a HUGE ego. He’s telling this story not so much because he wished I was there but because he wants to tell me where he went. That’s fine with me. I enjoy a good road story.

Dixie’s Daily Tarot: July 5, 2010: Saturn in Libra Moonshine
Astrology Meets Tarot
I wanted to tell a Saturn in Libra story, and drew the Moon for help. The Moon sometimes gets a bad rap in Tarot, as dominion of both magic and madness. Animal natures are revealed by moonlight. Illusion and reality are hard to distinguish. Here we see a woman basking in moonlight, flanked by two figures of Thoth. Known largely as arbitrator, Thoth was originally considered the Moon God, credited for magic, writing, and present at judgment of the dead. The dual Anubis dog status represent the Egyptian Jackal-headed god who had the job of weighing the heart against the “feather of truth,” thus determining their fate in the afterlife.

Astrology And The Moon: Feelings: Fixed? Fluid? Fleeting?
Astrology in real life
I am off the phone with Annalisa who has known me for decades to check my observations. I noted my feelings are static.
I am currently aware of this, dealing with my cousin. I always liked her. She was older than me so aligned with my older sisters. She was a foot taller than me, she was blond haired so we really had no peer-ship about us but she still gave me a feeling when she was around and the feeling was good.
Now Annalisa talked about how her feelings about people and things have evolved. It may be they matured, I don’t know. But her feelings change over the years where I don’t think mine do. It’s as if the dice land, I get a read and that’s it.

3 Years Ago On The Elsa Blog: She’s a Woman’s Woman With Sisters All Over This Land: One Of Them Is Cheating With Her Husband
Astrology In Real Life
From 2007:
I consider myself a man’s woman and I don’t think many would argue. But I am also a feminist with serious credentials. But this blog is not about me. It’s about I woman I know who fascinates me because she has such little use for men!
She’s a married, heterosexual but her husband is a complete afterthought to her. She’s pretty much disinterested in sex. What she loves is her sisters… which is basically any woman of any age who lives on this planet.
She spends most her life supporting other women by being politically involved and planning or participating in women’s groups or circles. And she is always trying to get me to come to one of these things to which I respond…
“Why would I do that? There are no men there,” I say, and she roars laughing in response. Continue reading 3 Years Ago On The Elsa Blog: She’s a Woman’s Woman With Sisters All Over This Land: One Of Them Is Cheating With Her Husband
Your Moon, Your Roots, Your Culture: Boasting Italian
Astrology in real life
“I saw her interviewed,” I told a pal. “She was nauseating,” I said. “Jeez, she’s like 50 something and still going on about her affair (with a fellow star) when she was 20. I bet that guy is sorry he ever got near that woman. Who know she’d still be going on TV, 30 years after the fact lamenting the loss of her love and her broken heart. It was sickening.”
She laughed.
“But men like her that’s for sure. The man I was with said I was just jealous when I complained about her. Yeah, she is tall and blond and skinny and he thinks every woman wants to be tall and blond and skinny. I thought it was ridiculous.”

Astrology And The Moon: Family Bonding And The Power Of The Feminine – “You can’t turn blood on blood.”
Astrology in real life
This came up in a consultation…
When I decided to include my sister in the Clearcut Astrology crew, I explained if we used her name, people would search her out and contact her. I let her know I had about a gabillion enemies and the lengths some of them go to to mess me up.
For example, one of the obsessed comments on other astrologer’s blogs using various screen names. They flatter the astrologer and appear clueless and fawning in order to groom them for future operations that target me. Others have contacted satori, tried to befriend her in order to extract personal information about me… you get the idea.

I’ve spent most of the day contemplating patterns and rules of relating that are deeply rooted. The subject is too vast for me to contain and communicate but I’m going to try to get something (coherent) up here. I wound up thinking of this in terms of different cultures and I started with my own…
When Italy was hit with their earthquake, the US government donated $50,000. I could barely believe my eyes when I read the story – such an insult!

Are Some Behaviors So Deeply Rooted A Person Is Powerless to Change Them?
Astrology in real life
Today a gal I know discovered the deep root of her pathology and along with it and as an aside she uncovered the origin of the behavior of some of the other people in her life.
For example she could look back at her first marriage and see they she was doing one thing for one reason and her husband was doing another thing for another reason.
