evil angry witch“She’s an evil angry witch who is never nice to children,” my son explained.

“Ooh. I guess she is,” I said. “I hope I am nice to children. I think I am.”

“Yes, you’re nice. You’re a free-wheeling mother,” he said.

Guess who has Jupiter in aspect to his Moon? Whew! ::wipes brow:: Because the other night he told the soldier I burped.

“Oh for chrissakes, when?” I asked. “How many times have you even heard me burp in your life?”

tooth fairy“Well, he’s 8 years old,” the soldier said regarding Vidroid. “He doesn’t know what we know. We know he’s going to get older, grow up and meet his girl someday. There is a woman out there for him, you know it and I know it.”

“I do know that.”

“So do I but what does he know? What’s he got to believe in? All he’s got is the Tooth Fairy at this age, so okay. He’ll believe in the Tooth Fairy then. The Tooth Fairy is a beautiful girl and she’s magic. She makes you feel good. She’s what you’ve got so you believe in her..”

Does Neptune On The Midheaven Make A Martyr? Bigots and Family Dynamics La, La, La

vietnam memorialViolet asks on the “We Need Somebody To Burn” blog:

“Yet Elsa despite this horrible/ugly response towards you, you still helped that family with its “missing son” issues. How is this possible? What are the limitations of your heart? And no disrespect at all here, but do you see yourself as having martyr like tendencies? And for you, what is the purpose of those inclinations?”

Astrology As A Tool: Exploiting What Is Promised In The Natal Chart

October 18th, 2007 @ 10:30 am by Elsa

Astrology in Real Life

sagittariusToday I have to go to a major meeting at my daughter’s school. I will be meeting with eight authority figures, and I am going to have to just sit there regardless of what they say. In other words, I can exert no control over the meeting.

Because I felt I was too close to the situation to access it and because I felt confident they were the professionals I made a decision a couple months ago to put the course of her education in their hands and now I have to follow through. And they have been investigating since and will share their findings with me today in what appears to be a very formal meeting. No matter what they say, I know I will be deeply impacted, of course I have Pluto transiting my Moon so what do you expect?

But this is not about me, it is about my daughter. And one of the reasons I decided I could do this was because of her chart.

My daughter has a 9th house Moon (education) trine Jupiter in Sagittarius (major benefit, more education) and I feel very simply that her education is guaranteed. It is protected. And I admit this is a leap of faith. It is a gamble (Jupiter) but it’s calculated. And I call something like this in a chart, a “natal promise”… or “what you get for free.”

Everyone has something that comes easy to them. You can see it in their chart and you can see it in their life. It’s enormously helpful if you can identify these things because you case stop worrying about them! Use the energy for something worthwhile. So what about you?

What do you get for free?

Jupiter in Sagittarius: Solve My Jackfruit Mystery and Help Me Expand

August 5th, 2007 @ 10:49 am by Elsa

Ask the Collective

jackfruitI have Jupiter in aspect to my Moon so with Jupiter in Sagittarius it follows I would expand via FOOD and sure enough this has occurred. I have learned to cook Asian, something that previously seemed out of reach and I can manage chopsticks now… fluently, thanks to HQ (1/2 Japanese) and his wife (Korean) who insisted I try when I visited them in New York.

Today I was back shopping Har-Mart, the Asian grocery superstore. Remember the Asian gal who quizzed me over the spaghetti squash in my cart? She wanted to try something new. She wanted to learn to cook something exotic to her and hitchhiking on this, since meeting here, every time I hit this store I try to leave with something new (to me).

So today the jackfruit caught my eye. They sell cut into chunks and I’m very curious about it. There is an international audience her so can someone tell me how to cook and/or consume jackfruit?

Tell me and we’ll all know – Thanks.

Astrology Today – Feeling Lucky, Punk?

June 28th, 2007 @ 4:44 am by Elsa

Astrology in Real Life…

dirty harryThe Moon is in Sagittarius conjunct Jupiter (and square Uranus). Moon Jupiter in Sagittarius is not exactly associated with being shot by police, however it is super optimistic and a gambler.

In the scene Dirty Harry asks, “…you’ve got to ask yourself a question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?” And I have a Jupiter Moon contact in my chart as does everyone else in my family and anyone one of us standing in front of Dirty Harry’s gun when he said that would have thought, ‘Yes. Yes, I am.”

And oddly enough we would have had a chance to get away by the sheer virtue of thinking we could, which is very different than thinking you can’t and therefore rolling up into a ball.

With Uranus squaring the Moon Jupiter conjunction, an unexpected stroke of luck can almost be expected today, however it does not relieve us of our responsibilities and blah, blah, blah.

So in other words, once I escape Dirty Harry’s bullet there, I am going to still have to make my kids dinner, mow the lawn and clean the house. ;-)

emo kidIt’s my daughter, she’s ridiculous. She’s 11 years old but in 7th grade so with older kids and today I dyed her hair jet black (it’s usually dark brown) to go with her new emo haircut.

She’s also got her fingernails painted black and she is writing dark poetry… lots of death and knives and suicide in it, however she can’t seem to read it without grinning.

I told her to go ahead with her black eyeliner when she reminded me, “you had fads when you were a kid” so here she is all decked out, stack of suicide poems in her hand, looking as morose as Pluto in Scorpio rising can look which is pretty morose. But it only lasts a few seconds.

Because my daughter has a 9th house (happy) Moon trine Jupiter (happy) in Sagittarius (happy). And I’m sorry but I don’t care how deep your soul is, with a configuration like that you are only going to be able to dip down so far and for so long.

So this morning, she’s got her look together (her costume, because her Moon is in Leo) and I find her in her room with her brother watching this: “Tickle Me Emo” which mocks the whole emo movement. And they’re both laughing their heads off at Elmo, who has gone emo. I watched this with them… it’s funny and clever. He lives on Depress-esame Street.

“Yep, that’s what happened to your sister,” I said to my son. “Tell everyone your sister has gone emo along with Elmo and you’re sure to follow because black hair is just so nice.”

They both roared.

“Okay,” I said as I stood up to leave. “I’ll help you two out of your depression and your suicidal tendencies (my son has the Moon Jupiter opposition… he ain’t going down either) just as soon as you quit laughing. Call me if you need me, I’ll be around. I’ll be here and catch you two right before you hit the grave so if you get close, you just let me know.”

Two snorts.

Isn’t astrology a trip?
