My son has his Sun in Taurus conjunct Saturn and I have no doubt he is going to be able to manage money. Matter of fact, his Sun, Moon and Ascendant are all in Venus-ruled signs with Venus elevated so I’d not be surprised if he were to become known for his money but in whatever case, he is going on 12 years old and I’ve just come up with the new money rules.

The soldier was going through his mail and handed me his Social Security Statement. “Look at this, P,” he said. “This is all the money I have ever made in my life.”

I looked at the figures trying to think what I was supposed to say or glean from them.

“Look there,” he said pointing to the first year he reported income. “I was 15 when I started working. I made $414 working on a farm,’ he said with a snort. “And look at what I made when I met you. I made $5500 that year, almost $5600.”

“This is unbelievable,” I said as the figures on the page started to mean something.

I don’t doubt this. How can a miser be happy? It’s the difference between Jupiter and Saturn. Saturnine people would be well advised to cultivate Jupiter qualities and with Jupiter transiting Capricorn now is the time.

“I don’t want to fight about money,” the soldier said over the weekend. I opened my mouth to say something and he shushed me. “Couples always wind up fighting about money, you know they do and I don’t want to do that. I hate to fight about money.”

“Well I don’t think we will,” I said. “For one thing, I am old and I have never fought about money with anyone in my life. I don’t care what you’ve done with other people, that is my history and I don’t imagine I am going to all the sudden change all that much.”
