Regarding Mercury Retrograde… And A Uranus Transit Ending Oppression

Astrology in real life

uranus space travelRegarding Mercury retrograde, pal and astrologer, Claire-France Perez left her impression and delineation of the situation on Everything Disposited By Mercury Rx
, her conclusion was this:

“My best advice is gather all your evidence, then decide in July.”

I am going to take her advice regarding this blog because as she’s mentioned privately, besides the fact a decision about writing made while Mercury retrograde would most definitely have to be reconsidered, it is a given that not all the information has been presented. But since I have been covering this, I want to present another angle.

Astrologer, Kathryn Cassidy: EVERYTHING disposited by Mercury Rx !!

June 2nd, 2008 @ 2:03 pm by Elsa

Ask the collective

mercuryKathryn Cassidy points out this morning that everything in the sky is disposited by Mercury Rx. You can get her read on this over there, as well as a very interesting list of people and things that correspond to Mercury in Gemini.

Mercury-ruled Geminis and Virgos are obviously focal at the moment and when I was speaking with astrologer, Claire-France Perez this morning about having to make this decision… well needless to say, she advised me to take my time with it as all the information is not in yet.

I would say this is good advice for all and in fact I pleaded with a client this morning, not to dump the man just knowing if she did she’d regret it.

Kathryn Cassidy’s Collaborate With Fate

Anyone else taking their time making a decision?

mercury god symbolHi, Elsa!

I’ve been doing internet dating for the last couple of months and finding that I am really enjoying it and meeting some nice guys. At any rate, I don’t usually initiate contact with guys online; I wait for the guys to contact me. But I really liked one guy and so dropped him a line, which got the ball rolling.

I’m really glad I did initiate with him, because he’s not all aggressive and player-y and he seems to be someone I might actually like to be in a relationship with but here’s the rub: We are meeting for the first time in person this Thursday – right after mercury retrograde has started. I haven’t discussed astrology with him and don’t feel comfortable putting off the meeting for another three weeks on that basis.

Any advice about how to handle this? I’m not quick to the sex part, so that isn’t an issue, but what about a first kiss during mercury retrograde? Is this doomed by bad timing?

Dating
United States

Dating, although like you I would note Mercury retrograde, I would never ever postpone a date on account of it. For one thing, dating is not a Mercury-ruled thing.  Plans may go awry, someone may be late but something like that will never stop love.

I say, swear off gloom and doom astrology and go have the time of your life!

wedding-cake.jpgDear Elsa,

I’m trying to plan an informal wedding for this year and the two months we’re looking at are June and October. I’ve looked at the calendar and it looks like Mercury will be all wonky all through both of those months. My question is simply, is it insanity to try to plan for a wedding during a Merc retro period? Are we begging for the cake to go missing, the minister to be hijacked, and all the guests to get lost? Should we consider a different month or go ahead as planned and keep a sense of humor about whatever happens?

Engaged

Dear Engaged, this is absolutely not my area of expertise so you should take what I say with a grain of salt. I am posting this as an open question so others might chime in… but since you asked me, I would never ever get married with Mercury retrograde. ::smiles::

That said, it sounds as if you are drawn to and even may relish the upside-down-ness of it all, so whose is to say?

Further you are talking to someone who got married on April Fool’s Day and yes… that marriage was a joke so it seems to me it is all in how you approach the idea of your marriage. If you are looking for something solemn – well Mercury wonky sounds all wrong to me. But not everyone wants something solemn.

Mercury Retrograde – Whoops, I Just Told My Own Secret!

February 15th, 2008 @ 6:24 pm by Elsa

Astrology in real life

mercury symbol godSomeone emailed me a link to an article… the title of the email was, “Blah blah blah sent from this person,” a name I recognize and trust.

I scanned the article and mailed back a thanks and then told one of my secrets.

” And matter of fact I used to do this for these people undercover. No one knows this,” I added before I hit send and sent the thing to the newspaper which was the return address.

Ha ha ha.

Thank God no one cares about my secrets… um, do they?

I hope like hell whoever doesn’t write me back! Eeeek.

Open Question: Mercury Is Retrograde – Should I Sign?

February 8th, 2008 @ 1:03 pm by Elsa

Ask the collective

mercury dimePatricia Martin asks:

“I have two contracts to sign. One has been in negotiations for months. They are urging me. If I sign it before Feb. 19 will I make a mess?”

Patricia – thanks and I doubt it. While I have avoided signing a contract with Mercury retrograde for at least 15 years, I have people in my inner circle a signing things left and right at this time and I think sometimes life just trumps these old adages.

For example, someone tried to sell me a garage door with mercury Rx and I opted for the fix rather than the new door because I had a CHOICE. If you have circumstances where there is no choice for whatever reason, I would definitely sign my name before I lost an opportunity or broke a law or whatever the things was and if I did, I would not lose sleep over it.

I guess I’d say that faith trumps Mercury retrograde. I have faith the universe acts in my best interest so if these type circumstances come up, then they come up. I really don’t like astrology for the purpose of terrifying yourself.

Virgo Wife, Battered And Cheated On, Worries About Signing Lease With Mercury Retrograde: Astrology-Based Advice

January 28th, 2008 @ 4:45 am by Elsa

Hi, Elsa,

I found out my abusive Aquarian husband was cheating on me on Xmas day. I was already prepared to leave him for all of the horrendous physical, emotional, financial abuses he’s heaped upon me throughout our relationship, but this other woman really threw me for a loop. To my knowledge, he’s had over 40 extramarital relationships in less than 5 years with me. We have no sex life whatsoever, and he always blamed me for that. I tried therapy with him, but he was never sincere and each session became an attack on me – and I was paying for it!

Unfortunately, we work for the same organization and the other woman is in his building. She is married with kids. I feel totally humiliated by his flagrant affairs all over the neighborhood where we live and the company where we work. It feels so debilitating to face this every day.

So, I’ve decided to get out. I’ve found an attorney and a place for me and my children to live. But here’s the problem: Mercury turns retrograde next week and I have to sign the lease and move in the middle of it. I already put down a deposit and filled out an application, contacted the mover, etc. I have to get out of here. This man is dangerous. He has assaulted me severely and is a pathological liar. Will I encounter difficulties signing the lease and moving during the retrograde? The intention has been there for weeks. Also, I keep fixating on why he wants this other woman and not me. I am an attractive woman, vibrant, intelligent, respected professionally, yet he’s never been there for me at all.

Is this a real relationship with her or another con? And how do I stop obsessing about him and get over all the pain and humiliation?

Beleaguered Battered Wife
United States

VirgoDear Wife,

I would not worry about Mercury retrograde. Sign the lease and get the hell out. Some things trump other things and this is a case of that.

If you want some more astrology for reassurance, there is a sweet little thing called a Jupiter Saturn trine aspecting your Mars and you should have no doubt you are doing the right thing and will be supported by the universe. Your other challenges are also paper tigers, let’s get real (Saturn) about what is true (Jupiter).

A man who assaults women and has an affair a month does not meet some gal at work and transform into Mr. Wonderful. You know who and what he is and she will find out I’m sure. The guy sounds like a sociopath to me and it is not uncommon they be charming.

As for why he wants this other woman, he does not want this other woman, are your kidding? He wants to meet people, mess with them, ruin their lives. and move along. She doesn’t know this yet but you do.

Keep your head, keep your focus. You have your evidence, Virgo – now get out, get out, get out.

Good luck.

Astrology In The Mainstream: It Is Changing Our World

October 20th, 2007 @ 9:23 am by Elsa

Ask the collective

astrology astromony newtonI’m just back from picking up meds for the soldier and stopped to perceive the change. Astrology is bleeding into the mainstream, there is no denying this. Mercury is retrograde at the moment and 10 years ago, I’d have likely been the only one at the pharmacy to know that. Today, I am not so sure.

If 1 person in 10 knows Mercury is retrograde, it might help them relax when information and things like prescriptions get mixed, but what if 5 out of 10 knew? This would make a major difference, don’t you think?

How has astrology changed your life?

Open Question: Effects Of Mercury Retrograde

October 7th, 2007 @ 8:24 am by Elsa

Ask the collective

mercury symbolReader and astrology blogger (MercuryRetrograde) hitchhiker72 asks:

“I wonder if anyone feels completely drained in the days just before Mercury goes retrograde? I am finding that as Mercury slows down just prior to retrograding, my batteries go completely flat. Where I’d ordinarily function quite well on 5 or 6 hours of sleep, suddenly 10, 11 or even 12 hours might not be enough.

The feeling is of a heaviness in the body, and having to literally peel myself off the bed, and the mind feels like it’s wading through quicksand. It only lasts for a few days and when Mercury retrogrades properly, I’m back to normal energy levels, trying to clean out my closets or whatever.”

hitchiker72 – personally I notice a bit of quickening right before Mercury turns retrograde, like a baby in my body, twitching. But I think this may be physical effect of scrambling ’round to get things done under the wire.
