One more blog regarding the massive dose of Aries energy over the weekend. The soldier has to maneuver his truck into this extremely difficult position to unload all that steel. It required him to circle the block in a neighborhood not meant to accommodate trucks on it’s narrow streets.

Making the turns are challenge in these conditions, perhaps you have seen a truck struggling and impatient people in cars (who do not understand physics) will wing around the truck oblivious to the idea the truck is trying very hard not to turn over and kill them with it’s 60,000 pound load. So this is what happened on the first right turn and it was harrowing.

“What’s that sound?” I asked.

“That’s the trailer wanting to turn over,” he said.

After suffering through and then talking through the problem in the gym that was no problem, I decided we were probably not going to have a problem because fact is the soldier is sane. I realized we’d go the gym whenever we did; eventually I would introduce him to people and that would be it. It would all work out but what about the potential of conflict in the locker room?

The soldier told me very distinctly he would confront anyone he heard talking about me and since I know they talk about me in there all the time I thought I’d better figure out how I felt about this so I talked to a pal.

“I don’t know what I am supposed to do about it,” I said. “He’s going to do whatever he wants. It’s the same as always. If he gets in a fight he gets in a fight. It’s been like this always. When we were kids, I mean. There has always been the potential he could get in a fight.”

“I agreed with that priest,” he said. “When he said that men should not be out drinking in bars leaving the women home take care of the kids. However, I do think a man ought to be able to go somewhere on a weekend, for an hour or so, some place where there are no women. Where he can be with just men, only men, where there no women he has to deal with.”

“I see.”

“Yeah. What’s the first thing you do when you’re a kid and you build a fort? You put up a sign, NO GIRLS ALLOWED, and I don’t understand why women can’t allow this. Why they feel they have to be included and bother men in the places they have reserved for themselves. They have to file lawsuits to get themselves allowed.”

“Uh huh.”

“Yeah. So then they get in and the minute they do whatever the place was, it is no longer what it was. A woman comes in and it changes the thing completely.”

“It does?”

“Yes. Men just don’t act around women, the way they do when they are with nothing but men. As soon as just one woman comes in, it’s over. Men have to start doing all kinds of things because she is there. So why is this, P? Why can’t women give men this little bit of accommodation? A little bit of time and space where we can be with each other? You don’t like to do what we do anyway.”

Anyone?

I have this idea that if I want to tell bawdy off-color stories, I best do it while Jupiter is in Sagittarius because I am pretty sure Jupiter in Capricorn is going to restrict such things. So on that note, this is the soldier relaying a time he was a real pain… just incorrigible.

‘I’d just got in from the field and you just can’t send a man out for 9 months and expect him to come back and act normally. It takes awhile to settle down. But anyway, I’d just got back in and I was tired. And I was in this bar in my civilian clothes and here comes in (forgot the rank, but his superior). He was in civilian clothes too and he said, get out of here. I’m putting you on guard duty tonight.”

“Well let’s face it. You’re always around gay people. Gay men that is and they do like you. And not all of them are mixed up. I can think of one who sized you up completely and furthermore, exploited his findings.”

“That cross dresser. The one that hired you.”

“Oh, him. He sized me up you think?”

“Absolutely. That guy liked to dress up in his clothes and walk to his bar. You told me they had a place where they all hung out.”

Ben and I, still catching up. We were discussing the soldier.

“Well Ben, it’s just this unfathomable level of maleness,” I said. “Maleness from another world. Chivalry I guess. My kind of maleness.”

“Tell me what you mean,” he said.

“Well for example, take that helmet incident. We were outside a bar and I was swinging this helmet at him. I was yelling. I was mad as a hornet, you can imagine.”

“Yes?”

“So we’re out in parking lot… big scene. And apparently two men started walking up behind me. They were going to grab me, the crazy banshee, I guess. I don’t know what they were thinking or going to do. I didn’t even see them coming up. I was busy swinging and swearing at him but he saw them over my shoulder in between dodging my attempts to kill him, that is and you know what he did?”

“What?”

“He yelled at them, you leave her alone! Don’t you even think about laying a hand on her! She can swing that helmet or whatever else she wants to do. Touch her, and you’ll deal with me.” I laughed. “Can you believe that? I’m standing there trying to kill him and he going to defend my right to do it. This was his organic response at 19 years old. And I had to stop and think, standing there with a helmet in my hand. Jeez. Do I really want to kill this guy? Hey. Maybe I ought to not kill this guy. Because this is an actual maaaaaaaaan I’m killin’ here,” I said with a chuckle. “And as a man who likes men, surely you can appreciate this.”

“I do appreciate it,” he said. “I like that.” (Ben has an Aries Moon)

“Yeah, so do I. So he’s got this automatic reflex to defend a woman in a culture where a man can beat his wife and his pal will take him out and buy him a beer and it really is something to behold. And he was just a skinny kid back then but that didn’t seem to matter. He acted on instinct. It’s as if he is a Mars archetype, born to defend women and children and to witness this automatic reaction… well it stopped me dead in my tracks. Who is this person? What is going on here? It was because the thing was that pure and after he did this, I quit swinging at him.”

“You did?”

“Yeah. I started swinging at his bike instead.” I laughed. “You know. I still had this adrenaline going but after he defended… protected me like that, I did decide to not try to kill him. He had proved to be on my side. But you get my point. His instinct is to protect a woman and he just responds to this kind of stimulus like something going off in his head. No training about it. This was long before special forces.”

Is their something “pure” about you?

I mentioned hitting the track in the gym that wraps around the free weight section where all the muscle heads hang out. There are others but it is undeniably male and Marsy up there with all the iron being flung around which gives me both a thrill and a blush.

And I think about cutting across this area (I call it “the pit”) but would never have the courage, fearing and feeling I could get pregnant in the time it would take to short-cut like that, me walking through this minefield of testosterone. But there are women who do venture into this territory and they fascinate me. There are 3 types:

There are some who stand in the area, but they keep to the edge and face away from the men. They are always in pairs and sort in there but not in there. I consider them “in denial”. You know. We’re in here with the men but not really, sort of like gals who go to a singles bar in groups and pretend they are not there to meet men.

The second type dresses scantily and she is there to titillate. You know those girlie posters in auto shops? These are like live versions of those posters and I am amused.

The last type is most interesting to me and also fairly rare. These are feminine women (non-steroid bodies) who can merge and blend with the men. Women who actually fit in the environment seamlessly and every time I see a gal like this I have the urge to interview her. I want her birth data! I think I am attracted because these women are the most exotic to my type.
