1) Why won’t he fly?

I think you are sort of new around here. The soldier was in Special Forces for many years. He has (well) over 200 jumps into combat but hates flying. He has a fear of heights actually. Being a Taurus and likes to be on the ground.

He loves to fight though. He loves battle in every way shape or form so much he willing to jump out of a plane to be in the middle of one but now that his fighting days are over he’s got no motivation to get on a plane and it is well understood by those who know and love him, if he’s traveling, it’s by car.

Regarding the Mercury, Mars and Saturn energy I referenced this morning (War Tactics)  I wanted to comment on the drive to learn and ambition to be the best that the soldier exemplifies. This energy is impacting the collective now in the form of the Saturn Mars conjunction in Virgo and I was thinking of something the soldier said awhile back that posted.

He stated very plainly that a person would never be more than mediocre if they did not really apply themselves… do more than the others and I heard this in another form a couple years ago when I learned (to my shock at the time) that a child with normal abilities that applies themselves will surpass a gifted child at about middle school age.

I think it’s good to hear this and to know it and I also think we have lost a lot of our ambition in this culture. As satori told me yesterday, “Everyone gets a trophy.”  We don’t want anyone to feel bad so all the kids get a trophy even if only half of them did what was asked of them and consequently we seem to have a generation of people who lack drive and have a sense of entitlement.

It’s not everybody mind you but I think this is significant. Nobody seems to want to be excellent anymore. They want to hook up with someone excellent but what about being excellent yourself?

Do you have a drive to be great?

This weekend we attempted to watch Apocalypse Now. We didn’t quite get through it yet but it’s a movie we saw in the theater when it was first released. It is one of my favorite movies of all time for a variety of reasons and I was surprised when the soldier said he had not seen the movie since he saw it with me 30 years ago.

“You’ve got to be kidding me,” I said. “How can that be? All you do is watch war movies. Not a week goes by you don’t watch a war movie.”

“No, I only saw it that once.”

“Did you not like it?”

The Moon is in Libra forming a Cardinal T-Square and if you pay attention you will see people move to control other people. Since you are a person you will probably do this as well.

Mars conjunct Saturn repeats this theme. It’s a good day to avoid violent people with no boundaries… violent people with boundaries are okay.

Ha ha ha, I am the only person I know who can get away with saying something like that.

Another thing that’s been coming up lately – It’s the way people justify their behavior.  People do whatever kind of rotten thing they do and then figure out all kinds of reasons why their wrong action is actually right action, just ask them.

I am pretty sure a person is responsible for the action they take independent of the action of anyone else on this planet which reminds me of, Flip Wilson if you’re old enough to remember him.  ”The devil made me do it!”

“I did that because he did that and she did that and anyway it’s okay what I did because that person sucks and I got hurt and I had to teach them a lesson and blah, blah, blah…”

I think we all do this to an extent but some people go through their lives doing nothing but this which leads nowhere of course. Something to consider as Mars heads into conjunction with Saturn…

Do you take responsibility for your actions?

If you read here regularly, then you know the soldier told the people at his new job that he had a loud Italian girlfriend. I asked him if he told them I had big hair and he said no but in any case I went in there yesterday – Yup.

And I was pretty entertained because I know what he’s up to and he may know what he’s up to as well, I don’t know. ‘Round here, we are notoriously less than conscious – We can’t hit a barn with a bullet.

But anyway, I went in there and I went in there ultra-Libra. I had one of those meetings I have been going to so I was dressed and when I told him my meeting was just a few blocks from his job he asked me to stop.

Another manifestation of Saturn in aspect to Mars (Teach the boy)

“Well he’s not kissed a girl yet,” the soldier said regarding my son.

“Yeah, I guess not. He’s 9. He just turned 9.”

The soldier shrugged. “When he asks me about it, I’m going to tell him,” he said.

“Tell him what?”

“Tell him not to kiss just any girl. I’m going to tell him to wait and kiss the girl he really likes.  The one that makes him feel something.  I am going to tell him to make sure he is kissing a girl he has feelings about, he should go with the feelings.”

The soldier is in the gym training for his debut at the fight club as well as recovering from spending the last year + stuck in an 18 wheel truck. The other day he ran in the gym, this is something he does not do anymore for the most part due his legs.

His legs are full of shrapnel and bullet holes, never mind 200 jumps from planes into combat (Mars) will take a toll on your knees (Saturn) especially when you land like a Taurus / Rhinoceros.

“Was it good to run?” I asked as we left the gym. “Did that feel good?”

“Hell no, I hate to run. I have always hated to run. Sound pretty funny coming from someone who used to run 14 miles a day,” he said.

“Oh, I didn’t know. So why are you doing it? Is it the most efficient way to lose weight?”

“No, it’s the most efficient way to get your wind up so you can fight.”

“I see,” I said realizing the obvious connection.

“The most efficient way to lose weight is to not eat,” he added.

I just shook my head at these simple facts.

Many of you know that my grandfather and double Capricorn, Henry built houses. He built adobe houses specifically and I built them with him.

Consequently I have never picked a man who cannot build things and the soldier is no exception.

He landed here and started drawing plans on day two.  He is now building.  That’s the beginning of a sawhorse which will be heavy-duty, multi-purpose and necessary so he can build his next ideas.

“Hell yes. You’ve got to bust your ass to get over what you really look like and see something like… glistening teeth when she looks at you.”
