Aries Mars vs. Scorpio Mars

“The world is a fine place and worth fighting for.”

Joaquin Phoenix, Russell Crowe; GladiatorWhich Mars is better, which Mars would win? This is a type of question that comes up not infrequently. Mars’ rulership is both Aries and Scorpio (though Scorpio is Pluto-ruled as well) so it makes for an easier comparison.

Pisces Man Leaves Aquarian Woman – She Wants Him Back: Astrology-Based Advice

May 28th, 2011 @ 3:00 pm by Elsa

Dear Elsa,

I know it takes a lot of courage for a Pisces man to break up with someone. Even though he told me that he still cares a lot about me, I know it’s just to make it seem less difficult – or maybe he’s trying to make himself feel better.

Either way, he just told me he has all these fantasies about love and how it would be filled with “butterflies.” I understand that Pisces are about the imaginative things but butterflies?

I believe that we can get anything/anyone we want in life with the right approach. How do I get him to come back?

aquarius water bearerDear Aquarius,

You can get anything or anyone you want in life? I am afraid I disagree with you. There are legions of people out there who have lost a friend or a lover, wished for and wanted them back… and failed to have this manifest. The other person has something to say about it.. The other person has free will and as an Aquarian, you should inherently understand this. That people are going to do what they want, that is.

This guy apparently wants to fantasize about butterflies. He might like to see them flying around his beloved’s head… or perhaps they are in his stomach, I don’t know. But he does not want to be in a relationship with you, at least not the one you imagine.

Now here’s a tip: you have Venus and Mars in Aries. You also have planets in Capricorn, Saturn in the first and you wish to control things, especially others. So now you want to get this guy to do something, and I would not be the least bit surprised if this were at the root of why you lost him in the first place.

People don’t like to be controlled and manipulated (Pluto in Scorpio in aspect to Venus and Mars) so when they meet someone controlling and manipulative, they tend to make like a butterfly and fly away.

Good luck.

Mars In Aries: Beyond Thunderdome

March 30th, 2011 @ 6:15 pm by Satori

“If you can accept losing, you can’t win.”
–Vince Lombardi

Dill PickleSaturn just went through my son’s 11th house and he’s seen his circle of friends tighten. Friends without integrity have fallen away. At the same time Pluto is transiting his Uranus Sun opposition. He’s had a somewhat distant relationship with his father but I see him actively reshaping it. In synastry neither of their Mars aspects anything in the other’s chart. However, they both have Mars in fire, my son’s in late Aries and his father’s in early Leo. They both have an active physical drive. My son’s attempts to engage his father have all fallen rather flat until he hit on this latest strategy: he challenged him to play raquetball. Now they’re meeting weekly and hanging out afterward.

A Leo Mars in the 11th house rarely shrinks from a public challenge. My son, with his Aries Mars in the 6th worked straightforwardly, trying one thing after another till he found a solution. Who will win? Who cares; as far as I’m concerned they both win.

How do you get what you want? Where is your Mars? Does it hunt?

Gay Aquarian In Love With Elusive Man: Astrology-Based Advice

December 24th, 2007 @ 4:04 am by Elsa

Dear Elsa,

I am a gay man and met a guy in Feb this year. A few weeks later, he told me he could not have a relationship with me as he had found out his mother could be dying of cancer. Therefore he could not be happy whilst his and his family’s world was falling apart. I was devastated as I had already fallen in love with him.

Over the last few months we have stayed in touch and I have found out he has been seeing other guys, which has been really upsetting. I confronted him as to why he is seeing others when we could be together. He basically said he didn’t want a relationship with me or anyone at the moment and denied sleeping with anyone. At one point in May he decided that he wanted us to try again. I was happy with this but very soon he closed up again and said no.

I have been patient yet hurting all the time. In October his mother sadly passed away. I saw him and tried to support him although I still know he is busy dating other guys. I have tried walking away but cant. I’m still in love with him. For some reason he wont walk away either.

Is there any hope for us?

Aquarian
England

aquariusDear Aquarian,

No, I don’t think there is any hope of changing the dynamic of this relationship and it suits you perfectly as is, whether you realize this or not.

As an Aquarian with Venus in Aquarius you want a lot of space and with this man, you get it. You also have your Moon and Mars in Aries so you like the challenge he provides. He must be perennially hunted, see? But most of all it’s the pining.

You have Venus square Neptune and there is a part of you that is addicted to pining for this un-gettable man but check this:

If you get him… if you actually get this guy and nail him down I guarantee you the situation will flip on you. Instead of where you are now, you will be pining for freedom and challenge. Pretty trippy, huh?

I admit that living in this hall of mirrors with various drives conflicting is a job.  However it is your job and at least you’re not bored or boring.

Good luck.
