Juno And “The One”

May 22nd, 2012 @ 2:55 pm by Satori

“You intend no doubt to give me nothing, and are not aware the gift has already been received. Curse me then, and take away the spell. For I am rich, no cheap and ragged beggar but a queen, to rouse the king I need in you.”
–Alice Walker, The Gift

Stranger Than FictionJuno, the asteroid, is associated with marriage and commitment. Juno the Roman goddess is daughter of Saturn, wife of Jupiter and mother of Mars (war) and Vulcan (fire). Does any of that sound touchy-feely? As the daughter of Saturn she embodies the feminine manifestation of commitment. Politically correct or not, that is most often associated with marriage.

First Husband Just Like The Next, And The Next…

March 21st, 2012 @ 6:30 am by Elsa

adela rodgers st johns“There is so little difference between husbands you might as well keep the first.”
Adela Rodgers St. Johns

When I read this I laughed out loud.

Do you agree?

This was one of the things we discussed on vacation, topical because Saturn is in Libra.

What do you think motivates a man to marry in this era (provided you think motivation exists)?

What motivates a woman to marry?

Do you think anything has changed in the last 20 or 30 years?

What do you think the future holds?

The Wedding Chart And Its Impact On The Marriage by Satori

January 29th, 2011 @ 6:00 pm by Satori

“Oh, for Christ’s sake,’ I hear. ‘Can we please just try to have a good time?’ This is like ordering someone to find you attractive, and it doesn’t work. I’ve tried it.”
–David Sedaris

uranian marriageI got married before I knew anything about astrology. By the time that my level advanced to a point where I had information about wedding charts I was already divorced. Yesterday there was a thread on the boards that prompted me to take a look at the chart. Considering primary elements of a wedding chart, I was surprised at how NOT bad it was. There were actually many wonderful things about my marriage, but the things that were bad were horrid.

Always A Bridesmaid, Never A Bride: How About A Cure?

November 3rd, 2010 @ 5:59 pm by Elsa

Astrology in real life

ugly bridesmaid dressI am quite stressed at the moment – Uranus transit to my Moon and all but I did get some very fine satisfaction today.  There is a young gal out there, some of you have something in common with her because she is always a bridesmaid, never a bride. She is the friend and the good pal of men but they never quite take her serious as anything else even though she’s cute as hell and that’s not flattery. She is cute as hell which may even be the problem, they may not take her serious?

In whatever case I told her how to handle this and she actually ::gasps:: followed my advice to the letter and now she’s in the hay.

zodiac game horoscope

I am learning about how people relate and I didn’t mean to, but I came across the name, John Gottman who is a psychologist who wrote among other things, The Mathematics of Marriage: Dynamic Nonlinear Models.

This guy studied relationship in an effort to be able to predict who would divorce and who would not with very limited data and he came up with a super effective formula. He claims that if he can can listen to a couple talk about *anything, for an hour, he can predict with 95% accuracy if they will be married or divorced within 15 years. If he listens for just 15 minutes, he can still predict this with 90% accuracy.

Patty Stanger: Millionaire Matchmaker… and Astrologer!

February 10th, 2010 @ 5:54 am by Satori

“Sometimes the best guys are worth waiting for.”
–Patti Stanger

I was just watching Bravo TV’s post Millionaire Matchmaker show of Live featuring Patti Stanger. She was answering questions and fielded one on how young was too young for certain ages to date. She gave some specific age ranges and mentioned there being a concrete reason behind her answers. Patti announced that she was not only a matchmaker but an astrologer, referencing the Saturn return as a lower age cut-off for maturity. Additionally, in her latest Millionaire Matchmaker show she facilitated a chart reading for a client in order to assess his wants and needs.

What a shock! I had to jump right up and hunt down her birth data. According to Wikipedia, Patti was born May 31, 1961, with no birth place listed, but presumably New Jersey, where she grew up.

Saturn In Libra – “Marriage Is A Big Deal”

September 26th, 2009 @ 2:30 pm by Elsa

Ask the collective

Annalisa writes:

“Don’t you just love when the energy comes to a head on top of everyday life? BANG. The big bang. I think that when people marry there is a change in energy that covers everyone and everything they do from there out. At least I have found that to be true. To get married is a BIG DEAL, even if you make the wedding small. Things will change forever on that day.

Do you think that too? Marriage has it’s own energy.”

I do agree with her and think traditional marriage will come back into vogue with Saturn in Libra.  Her mail made me think of one of my favorite things I have ever written down. From 2007: A Billion Years…

How do you see marriage and is your view of it shifting?

Open Question: Do You Want To Be Married? POLL

June 23rd, 2009 @ 9:07 am by Elsa

Ask the collective

pluto the coldest planet trading cardThese days it seems everyone I work with is looking for a settled relationship. If they are in a serious relationship, or marriage, they want to stay in it.

It’s possible this is just who I draw but I wonder if this does not reflect something deeper.

I think Pluto in Capricorn signifies deep insecurity and survival fears in the collective. This would lead people to want to partner so as not to face the hardship alone. It would follow that people with planets are early degrees of the Cardinal signs would be feeling this first.

Is it me or has there been an authentic shift here?

Are you more interested in serious relationship now than you were a year ago?

fool.jpgsatori writes on Pluto’s Last Gasp:

“It seems interesting to me that juno is traveling right alongside Pluto along the sagg/cap cusp. it’s even turned retro at the same time. might be the herald of what you’re talking about re traditional marriage. “

satori – Good catch. That is definitely possible but does not feel personal to me. Having a 7th house Uranus, I don’t think in “traditional marriage”.

I mentioned men, women and parenting in the blog and my comment in the comments was in regards to something else – namely the fact that everything old is new again… eventually.
