Astrology, Love And Legacy

Ask the collective

heart.jpgNow this is pure speculation but it’s been on my mind lately. Let’s say a person grew up with parents who loved each other deeply. Do you think this is an advantage to that individual when it comes to finding love and lasting relationship in their own life? Or do you think the parents love fortune is irrelevant to their descendants?

Can you back your opinion with astrology?

I was talking to pal about her difficulty finding a partner.

“You haven’t had the greatest role model as far as being in a happy relationship with a man goes,” I said. “Look at your mother. Her priority is to have, and preferably to have more than other people. A man is irrelevant to her for the most part.”

“He is.”

“I know. She doesn’t even care if she likes the guy. Her focus is on having more all the time. She wants as much as possible and being happy is not even in the equation.”

1 Minute Astrology: Synastry, Love And Relationship – How Do Others Affect You?

October 12th, 2011 @ 5:10 am by Elsa

Astrology in real life

From 2007…

Hi Elsa, I’ve been noticing lately that when in discussions with friends their Sun sign brings out my house placement. For example my Moon is in Leo in the 4th house. When talking to my Leo sun sign friends we end up always talking about our early families: our parents , our grandparents, aunts and uncles and siblings. Same with Libra ruling my 6th House. With my Libra Sun sign friends we invariably end up talking about our health issues.

What do you make of this? Can others relate? Or is this so obvious and basic astrology?

Astrology, Love And Death: Titanic, The Movie

September 24th, 2011 @ 6:10 am by Elsa

Ask the collective

titanticThere is a terrific discussion around death on the Death/Suicide video. It made me think of the Titanic movie which I think most have seen.

I was extremely moved by the movie, never mind the manipulations or whatever flaws and cheesiness that might have been part and parcel of the film. Fact is it depicted a momentous event and I was easily swept into the size and scope and emotion of the movie never mind all that water. I especially liked the length of the movie because it allowed me to be lost for hours but here’s my question:

Love Grows

September 10th, 2011 @ 7:32 am by Elsa

Ask the collective…

venus planetSomeone told me they felt that when you love someone the love grows a little each day. I thought this was well said and I believe they’re right. This seems true, not just in love relationships but in friendships as well.

Do you agree?

Where is your Venus?

Is Love An Altered State That Makes Effective Psychotherapy Impossible?

August 25th, 2011 @ 5:30 am by Elsa

Ask the collective…

heart loveI read that it was impossible for therapy to be effective when a person is in love. I am sorry, I can’t remember the source but the idea is that being in love in an altered state, akin to being drunk. It’s very hard to tell anyone anything when they are “in love”. When you’re in love there are just too many ways to escape. and to hide. However, I have Venus (love) square Neptune (drunk) and this may me personal to me and not true for you.

You have to form an intense connection with a therapist to do deep work. If you have a partner, you’re already bonded.  I am not sure this kind of 3-way offer the same opportunities.

What do you think? Is being in love anathema to effective psychotherapy?

Astrology And Unrequited Love

June 25th, 2011 @ 5:40 am by Elsa

Astrology in real life

“Some women are really hard to get rid of,” a man explained. “No matter what you do, they just keep coming…”

Pining for an un-gettable lover is a classic manifestation of Venus Neptune / Venus in Pisces but I don’t think this aspect covers the gambit when it comes to unrequited love. For one thing, I have Venus square Neptune in my chart and I would never pursue a man who did not reciprocate my interest.
