Back To School With Jupiter And Saturn

August 24th, 2011 @ 5:36 pm by Satori

“Got it bad, got it bad, got it bad, I’m hot for teacher.”
–Van Halen

educationSaturn is the teacher, the authority figure, the wise one. Jupiter rules higher education and philosophy. Saturn rules theory handed down from experience. Jupiter is learning that arises from experiential areas. They cross boundaries in places, I suppose, but Saturn solidifies while Jupiter experiments. Saturn is “hmm,” and Jupiter is “hey!” Saturn is time-tested and textbook. Jupiter is just now publishing.

I don’t know that there is anything more interesting to me than interaction between people from different cultures. Struggling to understand another person’s mindset or on a deeply level, what could be considered to be “in their blood” definitely expands a person.

I hate the idea we should all be “one” like the Borg but don’t worry about it much because I don’t think this will ever be achieved.  Human beings are clannish (Moon) just like they are violent (Mars) and spiritual (Jupiter) and have egos (Sun), etc.

My grandfather, Henry, was a triple Capricorn. He had Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Chiron and his north node in Sagittarius and he really taught us that exposure to diversity was the basis of education. In other words, you’ve got to leave your comfort zone to expand yourself and become educated.

Shrinking Problems – Fast!

March 25th, 2011 @ 1:10 pm by Elsa

Astrology in real life

The next two days are jarring and I have seen the results all day. People are quick to anger and attack. My husband said that I bitched today, his boss bitched, the customer bitched and if Dora were alive, he’s sure she’d be bitching too.

On the other hand (says Libra), I worked well with others (and the the clients did the same) which resulted in two effective consultations. This is also Mars in action.

Some people have an easier time operating under stress and pressure. With Jupiter opposing Saturn, your reality in connected to your perspective. I just heard of a man’s son killed in Afghanistan this morning, he was due to return home in a week. Allowing this to enter my realm makes it very clear that I’ve got nothing to complain about. My problems are a joke next to what this man is headed into at this point and that’s Jupiter for you. If you look at the broader picture, the uphill climb you face in your life today is going to be shrunk to manageable (Saturn) to scale (Jupiter).

Jupiter Opposite Saturn: Reality Check Your Beliefs

March 15th, 2011 @ 9:44 am by Elsa

Astrology in real life.

Sacred Cow – Something too highly regarded to be open to criticism or curtailment – from phrase finder

As Jupiter moves into opposition with Saturn, this is an opportune time to put your beliefs to the test.  Jupiter describes beliefs that are widely held, or wisdom that is spread far and wide.  Now is the time to weigh (Libra) what you have heard or been taught against reality (Saturn). Personally, I am finding I’ve been sold a bill of goods.

Jupiter opposes Saturn approximately every twelve years.  These planets are a natural pair and when you put them together they offer a real (Saturn) opportunity (Jupiter) in some form.

Astrologers tell people that Jupiter brings a benefit and invariably they are going to win the lottery. The lottery has more to do with Pluto (other people’s money) than it has to do with Jupiter (vision, expansion, religion / spirituality, perspective, outdoor sports and higher education).  Winning the lottery is also shocking and unexpected which suggests a Uranus component.  Jupiter does rule luck but I think you can see that Jupiter alone is not going to bring you windfall money except in rare cases.

Learning As An Antidote To Depression – Help For People Facing Life-Threatening Illness

October 23rd, 2010 @ 12:28 pm by Elsa

Jupiter and Saturn are a natural pair.

I work with people battling life-threatening illness often enough.  In astrology, Saturn signifies depression and oppression, and also support.  Cancer treatment is oppressive. Realizing you may die is depressing. People facing these things need support.

Jupiter is the natural antidote to Saturn. These planets are a natural pair so when your life is heavily burdened by Saturn type things, Jupiter type things are the best remedy.

In the case of someone is ill, we’re talking jokes and laughter and optimism. Storytelling. A belief system. Getting outside if at all possible. Exposure to a a variety of perspectives.  These are all Jupiter-ruled things but I have really seen work well to buoy people is when they are LEARNING something and I am talking about SPORT.

Your Expectations vs What Your Wind Up With

August 17th, 2010 @ 7:00 am by Elsa

Ask the collective

Some feel you manifest your beliefs (Jupiter) in reality (Saturn).  They think you get what you expect.

While I understand this and think there is value to thinking in these terms, I don’t see this as true in practice.

In practice, I tend to get more or better than I expect, 80% of the time. I know others who get less than they expect 80% of the time.

How reasonable or realistic are your expectations?  Could you benefit by making an adjustment?

How is it going?

My life was thrown into chaos around the first of the month but I got a handle on things after about week. I can see there will be a level of stress for the rest of the month but I have adapted and can see what might be silver linings, over time and if nothing else, I’m getting smarter which is something I enjoy.

I am seeing things shrink down. I just wrote about the fact the government is not taking custody of near as many kids be they abused or out of control or whatever.  One of my friends who works in the courts lost her job due this so you see what I mean, there is a reduction. Less money begets less money begets less money.

With Jupiter conjunct Uranus, most everyone has a tremendous impulse to change their life or break out in some way that is LARGE.  They are absolutely sick of being oppressed, regardless of who or what or why they are held back.

It could be lack of money, it could be family responsibility, a lousy partner, the lack of a partner, trouble with their children, their own fear, a house they can’t sell, a lease they can’t break, a psychological pattern that dogs them, an addiction or you name it.

Jupiter Uranus – The Truth Will Set You Free Redux – A Saturn Perspective

May 13th, 2010 @ 9:51 am by Elsa

Astrology in real life

A few days ago I wrote that one of the potentials of the Jupiter Uranus conjunction was that the truth could set free. “Really”, I added, to accommodate the Saturn opposition. Real Freedom. Not bad.

A couple weeks agom I was working on a story, Desert Living, Once Upon a Time. I was enjoying myself tremendously (Jupiter) right up until I hit a wall and had to stop (Saturn). I felt a responsibility to explain to people reading but struggled with the copy – Mercury Rx and all, so the explanation has been stuck in draft for a number of days. Now I see it has broader application, so I will try to re-tool… a number of days after the fact…
