Outtakes and Various Other Sundries…

zodiac ballWeekly Horoscopes By Caeriel Crestin of the Seattle Weekly. I like her style!

Here’s a sample:

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

Eliminate all unnecessary distractions immediately. You already have way too many of those, and this week’s likely to dump a whole slew of new ones on you. So, while you can, get rid of anything and everything that’s likely to come between you and the things you really want to get done. Keep it simple has to be your mantra right now, or else your life is likely to dissolve into ineffective chaos and clutter. Simplicity is your salvation at work, at home, with your friends, with meals, clothes, and so on. As for anything that’s likely to unduly complicate your life: See if there’s any way you can (nicely) postpone it for a while. In a couple of weeks, you’ll be able to take it on with aplomb.

Billy Corazon’s AstroPop: Horoscopes Mashed With CD Reviews

April 5th, 2007 @ 6:58 pm by Elsa

Outtakes and Various Other Sundries…

astro popHere’s something innovative!

Check out Billy Corozon’s new column, AstroPop: The world’s first (and only) astrological forecast told entirely in cd reviews!

Here’s a writing sample:

Gemini (May 21 – June 21)
As the sign of poets, bards and other verbal magicians, you are a lover of language, Gemini; As the sign of the twins, you are inherently attracted to and draw energy from duality. As such, nothing is going to suit you better this month than Over The Counter Culture, by Tim Fite (Anti-), which offers a dizzying array of contradictions, with Fite, a white guy known primarily for his inventive but low-key alterna-folk, letting loose a relentless salvo of scathingly political hip hop over fractious, sparse beats and samples. The entire album is an indictment of the co-option and degradation of formerly revolutionary sub-cultures like hip hop and punk by the machine of commercialism, and Fite unsheathes an arsenal of double-edged lyrical blades that slash at his own contradictions in equal measure to corporate culture, all while creating a startling fusion of linguistic subtlety and brutality, profanity and lucidity. Check out the title track featured here and then go to his website to download the entire album for free (no strings attached). Use it this month as a springboard to embracing the contradictions of your own inner lyrical warrior

AstroBarry’s Weekly Horoscope: This Weeks Solar Eclipse Square Pluto Effects By Sign

March 12th, 2007 @ 6:31 am by Elsa

Outtakes and Various Other Sundries…

astrobarryCheck out Astrobarry’s horoscopes for the week, dealing specifically with the effects of this week’s Pluto-squaring solar eclipse.

Here’s his intro. Astrobarry writes:

This week rocks with a Pluto-squaring solar eclipse… a feather-in-the-cap of an already-extraordinarily-pungent month or so, jauntily perched to herald the news: The times they are a-changin’. Folks, this is a big eclipse, with a direct impact on how the next several years of history-a period likely to be ripe with dramatic shifts in the balance of power-will unfold.

Now that’s writing!

Esoteric Astrologer, Risa, With A Forecast For The Lunar Eclipse in Virgo

March 1st, 2007 @ 12:51 pm by Elsa

Outtakes and Various Other Sundries…

full moonCheck out astrologer and blogger Risa and her beautifully written column, “Lunar Eclipse – Something in Form Shimmers Away” which includes forecasts for each of the signs.

Here’s a sample.

Risa writes:

CAPRICORN: Should you feel the need for anything, just ask. It will be given, available, come forth, and be abundant. Things may seem to move a bit slower than usual. This is so they can be completed in a sustainable way. Children, young people, your own child-self need tender loving care, close careful attention and consistency even as everything is new. You will know how to do this. Begin with slow communication, maintain eye contact, and move into love.

Top Five New Year’s Resolutions (by sign)

The thing is, this is not a joke. I don’t know who the writer is (I’ve asked) but it’s apparent the suggested New Years resolutions are based on astrology. I love it when people are super creative like this. Check it out!!

Carl Boudreau’s Astrology Blog

He writes a monthly horoscope for each of the signs, (January, 2007) but what I really like is his “500 words” series because is that snappy or what?

Check it out:

500 words about December 2006.
500 words about January 2007

500 words! The man is not wasting anyone’s time. :-)

Astrologer Kathryn Cassidy’s Daily Horoscopes

December 18th, 2006 @ 2:36 pm by Elsa

Outtakes and Various Other Sundries…

kathryn cassidy

Astrologer and blogger, Kathryn Cassidy of Collaborating With Fate is writing the daily horoscopes on astrologer and web pioneer, Jonathan Cainer’s wildly popular website this week. Did you know his site has been live for more than 10 years! That’s impressive!

I like Kathryn’s style. She’s extremely concise and concentrated, managing to offer a substantive prediction along with the astrology behind it in just a few sentences which is an inordinately difficult thing to do.

Definitely worth checking out:

Astrologer Robert Brown’s Weekly Newsletter, Writings In The Sky

November 3rd, 2006 @ 8:16 am by Elsa

Outtakes and Various Other Sundries…

robert brownY’all know I like astrologer, Robert Brown. He’s talented but beyond that, he’s just got a very interesting energy about him. Somehow he manages to be incredibly likable and accessible, while simultaneously seeming aloof and ultra observant.

And see that’s the trick. How can someone be completely present when they are talking to you, while watching you from another angle? ::smiles::

So anyway, this is how I read this guy and I get a bit of a kick out of talking about him like this. Because he does seem so observant and fuck you! I can observe too!!

So anyway, he writes a monthly horoscope here, but I am now getting his weekly newsletter. You can see a sample here, but to be honest the current issues are even better. Like I write advice, it is as if he is born to do this and he his honing his skill.

So bottom line, I really think you ought to consider subscribing to his work. Because it’s only $12 a year. Which is a quarter a week! And all the free internet stuff aside, astrologers need paid!

And for this amount of money, you get to know which day Robert thinks you should to go to the dentist… or not. Or which day you should keep your mouth shut, or whatever.

And he’s is ultra-absorbable so you will learn things sort of unbeknownst to you which is the best way! To just wake up smarter, as opposed to having to study too much. So doesn’t he deserve 25 cents a week for this? I think he does?

And I know these type services are available elsewhere but I am telling you that Robert-watching is a sublime experience. Just look at his picture. Does that look like a stupid man? I don’t think so. 25 cents a week, people. Just do it.
