virgo fiore purseThe soldier is in the gym training for his debut at the fight club as well as recovering from spending the last year + stuck in an 18 wheel truck. The other day he ran in the gym, this is something he does not do anymore for the most part due his legs.

His legs are full of shrapnel and bullet holes, never mind 200 jumps from planes into combat (Mars) will take a toll on your knees (Saturn) especially when you land like a Taurus / Rhinoceros.

“Was it good to run?” I asked as we left the gym. “Did that feel good?”

“Hell no, I hate to run. I have always hated to run. Sound pretty funny coming from someone who used to run 14 miles a day,” he said.

“Oh, I didn’t know. So why are you doing it? Is it the most efficient way to lose weight?”

“No, it’s the most efficient way to get your wind up so you can fight.”

“I see,” I said realizing the obvious connection.

“The most efficient way to lose weight is to not eat,” he added.

I just shook my head at these simple facts.

Struggling To Communicate With Saturn In Virgo

March 26th, 2008 @ 7:01 pm by Elsa

Astrology in real life

blood_test.gifSaturn in Virgo shows struggles to communicate, in this case a double whammy because I am old (Saturn) and was trying to communicate about health (Virgo).

“I have an appointment but I am not sure what it’s for,” I told the soldier. “I had a terrible time on the phone, I could not get the woman to understand me.”

“What do you mean?”

“Well for starters she told me I did not have to fast for the blood test.”

“Yes, you have to fast.”

vintage 60s sports car corvetteFinished with that phase we went back out to the waiting room to wait to be called to see the doctor. I tried not to think about Sadisimal John but it was hopeless.

Sadisimal John was a rich guy I dated during one of my break-ups with the soldier. His father was an oral surgeon and I don’t know what else but this family had gobs of money. It was a family of four where both children were adults, but they had 3 maids and I could never figure out why.

cancer types frequencyThe nurse called for the soldier and I went in the office with him but not without having asked him earlier what he preferred. I figured he might be getting told he had cancer at any minute and I just didn’t want to do anything wrong in this sort of circumstance. Do you want to be alone when they tell you that you have cancer? Who knows? We hadn’t talked about it very much. He only had a few days notice, we’d been very busy since and besides that there is not that much to say.

Astrology And Diet – Limit Your Food – How Depressing!

March 2nd, 2008 @ 3:21 pm by Elsa

Astrology in real life

diet spelled in vegetables healthySaturn is in Virgo and everyone is feeling pressured to control their diets… some more than others. The soldier has the double whammy (Saturn in Virgo transiting the 6th house) so he is particularly affected.

Saturn transits force change in a slow and steady manner and we started working on his diet some months ago. It’s been successful. He was on medication and on the verge of diabetes.

His current blood work is much improved and it’s a relief seeing as he has had a family member suffer amputation due diabetes. He is now on a lessor medication but he would like to avoid all consequences of this condition if possible so further adjustments are on the horizon.

Saturn In Virgo – No Cancer… At Least Not Yet

February 28th, 2008 @ 1:06 pm by Elsa

Astrology in real life

virgoThe soldier has Saturn (fear) in Virgo (health) transiting his 6th house (health). Transiting Saturn is conjunct natal Pluto which would be textbook for a health / death scare and he got one. And while he does need a biopsy, we are somewhat less concerned after today’s visit to the doc.

What happened is he got his teeth cleaned. The dental hygenist did not like the look of his mouth so she called in the dentist. The dentist did not like the look of his mouth either…. good teeth and gums but something going on with the inside of one of his cheeks.

Saturn In Virgo – ‘£10 licence to smoke’ proposed

‘£10 licence to smoke’ proposed

“Smokers could be forced to pay £10 for a permit to buy tobacco if a government health advisory body gets its way.

No one would be able to buy cigarettes without the permit, under the idea proposed by Health England.

Its chairman, Professor Julian Le Grand, told BBC Radio 5 Live the scheme would make a big difference to the number of people giving up smoking…”

Saturn In Virgo Diet – I’m On A 2 Day Streak!

November 28th, 2007 @ 7:42 pm by Elsa

Astrology in real life

fat prosperous overweight dietI have been trying to stop putting on weight for about six months now with absolutely no luck at all. Every day I get up intending to not eat the things I know I should not eat and every day I eat them. Then finally – Eureka – a breakthrough! The soldier was reminding me how it went back when we were kids and I got fat. I saw myself in the mirror one day and freaked! I had packed on about 50 extra pounds unbeknownst to myself (Neptoooon) but all the sudden the veil dropped and there I was.

Speaking Of Saturn In Virgo In The News – Here Come The Health Fears

Outtakes and Various Other Sundries…

staph bacteriaDrug-Resistant Staph Germ’s Toll Is Higher Than Thought

The claim is this is now killing more people than the AIDS virus.

Rob Stein writes for the Washington Post:

A dangerous germ that has been spreading around the country causes more life-threatening infections than public health authorities had thought and is killing more people in the United States each year than the AIDS virus, federal health officials reported yesterday.

The microbe, a strain of a once innocuous staph bacterium that has become invulnerable to first-line antibiotics, is responsible for more than 94,000 serious infections and nearly 19,000 deaths each year, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention calculated.

Although mounting evidence shows that the infection is becoming more common, the estimate published today in the Journal of the American Medical Association is the first national assessment of the toll from the insidious pathogen, officials said.

“This is a significant public health problem. We should be very worried,” said Scott K. Fridkin, a medical epidemiologist at the CDC…

Outtakes and Various Other Sundries…

big macSaturn is in Virgo and a health kick (Virgo), coming to a town near you! Brought to you by the government (Saturn) of course.

From the LA Times:

Limits proposed on fast-food restaurants

“As America gets fatter, policymakers are seeking creative approaches to legislating health. They may have entered the school cafeteria — and now they’re eyeing your neighborhood.

Amid worries of an obesity epidemic and its related illnesses, including high blood pressure, diabetes and heart disease, Los Angeles officials, among others around the country, are proposing to limit new fast-food restaurants — a tactic that could be called health zoning…

“Heath zoning” implies boundaries, yes? Ha ha ha.
