hot air balloonYesterday I had a pal tell me he thought there were people who just couldn’t stand the idea of someone being happy. I would have liked to argue but I’ve witnessed the same thing.

I’m inherently happy. I may have a grueling life but I am still happy and feel satisfied at least 90% of time. I chalk this up to trines from Jupiter.

Jupiter types have a very hard time staying down. We just go up like a helium balloon, again and again and again. Pull it down, it comes down. Turn your back and its up again. Shoot it full of holes and next morning it’s restored. It’s right back where it was, wagging in the wind. And I can explain how it feels to be this kind of person on another day – this is my point:

Finding Happiness Inside Yourself

April 23rd, 2012 @ 5:30 am by Elsa

Astrology in real life.

My son is hitting puberty and I won’t deny, it’s a challenge for me. I have never been around a boy at this age and stage, which is something I never realized before. I did have a younger brother but I left home when I was 15 years old so I missed this transition, never mind I’d have been having a transition of my own at the time.

Your Philosophy Determines Your Happiness

March 14th, 2012 @ 6:00 am by Elsa

My eye on the sky.

My husband believes that your philosophy determines your happiness. This makes sense astrologically because it tracks to Jupiter.

Does your philosophy enhance or degrade your happiness?

What is your philosophy?

How To Be Happy In Life

August 13th, 2011 @ 6:33 am by Elsa

Astrology in real life.

eva writes on Why Are People Unhappy:

“You know honestly I think people in this country have somehow weirdly been trained to be unhappy. My grandmother, and my mother, just had a high pain threshold and they just took the sorrow with the gravy.

(snip)

People are unhappy because all they know how to be is personally disappointed that their lives did not live up to, say, Star Wars. Or Donald Trump. Or whatever. My grandma would just laugh if she were here. Not because she thought these people were stupid but because her knees and arms were bruised and there was almost no money left, and still when she went out to the garden, her cabbages were absolutely gorgeous.”

The Time I Was Not Responsible for My Own Happiness.

March 23rd, 2011 @ 1:09 pm by Nota

Hopefully Coherent Ramblings

Moonpluto started a thread about classical music this morning which got me watching a bunch of Lang Lang videos. If you’re a Lang Lang fan, you know you don’t just sit back and listen to him play. You watch. You watch him emote, you watch him play the music with his hands and his face and his whole body.   If you don’t know who Lang Lang is look him up. He’s a Gemini Sun/Pisces moon pianist from Shenyang. ..And I love him.  But that’s not the point of this story…

The point is…as I was watching him play, I boarded a very long train of thought and ended up getting off on my 23rd birthday.

Astrology And Happiness: Here’s A Trick – Try Denial

September 13th, 2010 @ 6:50 am by Elsa

Catch up on this series – Can Happiness Be Taught Or Trained?

sun_desert.jpgThere are some less obvious ways happy people stay happy. Many of us use denial. Denial has a bad rap which I see as ridiculous. People could not survive without this mechanism and denial takes many forms.

The soldier and I have difficult lives and always have. You’re just going to have to take my word for that but regardless of this we are both very happy people.  He can be completely content in a foxhole in the middle of a war, or sleeping on a rock.

As for myself, back when I was a homeless 15 year old, I had distinct awareness I was happier than most and by far. Continue reading Astrology And Happiness: Here’s A Trick – Try Denial

boats-in-harbor.jpgCharlotte wrote on Can Happiness Be Learned?

“There are a lot of happy people on this blog, it’s just the general theme and mood of the comments and entries, which just confirms that like attracts like…”

Read the full comment…

I agree with Charlotte but I think there is another angle, or separate phenomena that goes on here. One that can’t be stopped because it’s a law of nature.

reeve_hmed_9ah2.jpgWhen it comes to happy people, I’d say you’re going to see Jupiter strongly placed across the board. It is very hard to take Jupiter down. Matter of fact it is damned near impossible.

If you do take them down, they will be right back up the next day which is why Sagittarius beats the hell out of Scorpio. (All the signs are battered by the one that follows them… including Pisces which is followed by Aries)

Can A Person Learn To Be Happy?

September 9th, 2010 @ 2:33 pm by Elsa

Ask the collective

scorpioIt was my ex and mega-Scorpio, the AMF who made me aware of “happy people” in the world. He was astute and pointed out that I was a happy person as were various people we’d run across. A waitress with a wide grin for example. Just random people we’d see. He’d always notice the happy ones because he just couldn’t figure them out.

With Venus in Scorpio conjunct Saturn in the 8th, he’d wonder, “Why in the world is that guy happy? What’s he got to be happy about..?”

It was queer for us because we spent a lot of time together, one of us always grinning with the other wondering why.

Is There A Correlation Between Greed And Happiness? Poll

September 4th, 2010 @ 7:20 am by Elsa

Ask the collective

greedy pigFrom 2008, I was talking to my husband:

“I just don’t get it,” I said.

“Well don’t get mad, P.”

“I’m not mad, I’m curious. I don’t know these people. I’m not mad at people who have injured me directly, why would I be mad at people I don’t even know? You’re interested in war, I’m interested in people and their thoughts and behavior. If someone made an odd decision in war you’d think about it and I’m fascinated over how people choose to live because it often makes no sense at all.”
