The soldier was in Indiana today briefly and he ran into someone who filled him in on the gossip going around the town he moved from which is several states away. The gossip concerns the two of us and I just laughed like hell.

Personally, I am sick of gossip and celebrity death and/or weight-watching. I don’t care what these people are doing. Real people are more interesting by far.

I am also sick of looking at everyone’s crotch. For Godsakes put your clothes on. What is it that makes everyone think they have to had a naked picture of themselves on the internet? I’m sick of it! It was something to see in 1980 but with the sea of flesh out there now, you’d get way more attention keeping your clothes on, duh.

About the exploitation of these abducted kids and/or murdered children (Elizabeth Smart And Suffering In The Collective), JonBenet Ramsey was another. And I happened to have a front row seat for that one, or rather a backstage pass because I knew main tabloid reporter working on the case. I met him, see.

And I got to know him pretty well. I knew him well enough that for awhile there, I was the one he called while en route to make his various bribes.

And this guy was incredibly good at what he did. In fact, he was the one (working at the Enquirer at the time) who managed to make the tabloids credible during the OJ Simpson trial which is no small feat if you think about it.

And he was roundly hated of course. He was a real Pluto figure, skulking around but boy is this whole thing misunderstood. There is frenzy for this kind of information and who is responsible? The person who digs up the dirt? Or the person who buys the magazine? Because there is no shortage of customers.

And what about the people who sell their soul or their story to the tabloid for $500? There are no shortage of them either. Are you kidding? This guy’s phone rang off the hook. But here’s what I am going to tell you.

This guy came to this area to cover this story and he liked it here. He did not want to live here permanently but he thought a year or two would be nice. He wanted out of a motel too. He wanted to buy a place (he was a Taurus) so he so he orchestrated this. He sold it.

“Yeah, they’re going to let me stay. I told them I thought I could get 12-18 months of stories out of this for sure. The magazines are selling like hotcakes so they said, okay…”

And he did buy his place. I know because he invited me over for pot roast.

So this is my chart working, I guess. I am forever winding up chummy with the taboo. But what do you think? Who is the real shadow here?

Today we’ve got a mutable grand cross so communications are affected. People say too much (Jupiter), they say it heatedly (Mars) on impulse (Uranus). After that, they probably worry about it (Virgo) and that right there gives you an idea what it’s like to have one of these babies in your natal chart.

On the upside there is great mental dexterity. So if someone blurts something ridiculous, you’ll probably have a quick retort or at the very least, fodder for a jokes. It’s a day or gossip, see? “And then he said, blah, blah, blah…”

So just remember that when you’re talking about people today. They’re very likely to be talking about you later.

Truth is stranger than fiction, people. Always.

I was surprised by the opinions expressed on the blog about the women who were fired for gossiping. I like being surprised.

Last night I was talking to my pal who has the two people geared up to run around their small town talking about her… or trying to. Personally I don’t think anyone is going to listen to them. I am not a gossip and chalk this up to Mercury in the 9th house which is going to broadcast rather than whisper behind your back.

Last night I was explaining to my friend that I made the decision not to talk about people when I was very young. I was 12 or so and reading advice on how to live well because this has always been an interest of mine. I came across a bit about how to handle people who were talking about others, assuming it made you uncomfortable which in my case it does. The book said you should interrupt and tell the person, “It’s funny you say that because they always say such nice things about you…”

Reading that I decided to never put myself in a situation where someone could or would have to say something like that to me.

Does it make sense to fire someone for gossiping?

Now this may be personal to me, but that’s why I’m asking. I have noticed various shifts since Jupiter left Scorpio for Sagittarius and here’s another. I have absolutely had it with the gossip industry. I am just sick to death of the negativity. I am sick of hearing about who is fat, who is thin, who is doing who and most of all, I am sick of the publishing (Jupiter) of the genitals (Scorpio) of starlets. Aren’t you?

I am tired of reading the dirt on everybody, all the time. I am looking for things higher-minded these days. We’ve still got Pluto (the dirt) in Sagittarius (Publishing) but not for long. I think this gossip gig is about up, and what about you?
