“You Can’t Turn Blood On Blood…”

Ask the collective

Speaking of deal breakers in relationship, my husband always says that you can’t turn blood on blood. To me, old friends are like blood.

I think it is always a mistake to bad mouth a person’s family, even if the person speaks poorly about their family themselves as these roots are very deep.

When you attack a person’s family, you attack them.  When you attack and criticize their friends, you attack them as well. Same when you attack a person’s spouse.

Scorpio and 8th House Types: Trust and Friendship

February 27th, 2012 @ 9:00 am by Elsa

Astrology in Real Life…

zodiacI was talking to someone who was wanting to form a relationship with a person whose nature is similar to mine. I wound up describing the process I go through internally when I make a new friend. I explained that anyone who came on with too much, too fast, a “new best friend” sort made me incredibly nervous.

“When someone comes in and thinks they are going to fill up my life, I feel completely overwhelmed. I may like them initially but if my phone starts ringing off the hook, well right then I know I’m not going to be able to sustain the relationship.”

Why Can’t We Be Friends? When Platonic Friendships Fail..

August 12th, 2011 @ 5:10 am by Elsa

Ask the collective

venus symbol astrologyBeen a rash of this lately, in and around my circle so I am hoping someone on the other side of this coin will enlighten me….

Say there is a platonic friendship between a man and woman (or the homosexual equivalent of this). And the thing is good, the thing is grand. The people are compatible and enhancing each others lives over some period of time. Significant time. 1 to 5 years, say.

Then all the sudden one of the parties makes an unwanted play for the other person, almost always destroying the relationship in the process. Have you ever been on either side of this equation?

What happened and where is your Venus?

A Capricorn and Her Life Plan by Nota

Real Conversation

As some of you know, I have recently gotten back in touch with an old friend. She’s the Capricorn who’s party I went to here. No, we didn’t find each other on the internet. We did it the old fashioned way, synchronicity. We ran into each other at the grocery store a couple months ago.

So, today we’re getting coffee and discussing our lives. In the interim while we were lost to each other she got married to a very nice Virgo guy. They moved back to town and bought a nice little house and fixed it up. Now, she wants to have a baby…

Gray Rape My Pluto Transit Through The 11th House

pluto planet bumper stickerFrom 2007

I had a date rape situation come up with a man I thought was a “friend”, except it was no date. We were on purely friendly and had been for years. He was well aware of my budding involvement with another man (my husband) but he apparently thought if I was coming to his house, I must be interested in him or more likely he figured, “I’ll try this and see what happens”.

Had something occurred it would have been a so-called “gray rape”, I suppose. What am I doing at his house if I’m not interested?

Venus Conjunct Uranus: Losing A Friend

March 2nd, 2010 @ 12:44 pm by Elsa

Astrology in real life

With Venus about to conjunct Uranus on it’s way to oppose Saturn and square Pluto, I am realizing I very likely lost a friend. I hate to say it because we’ve been talking for a number of years, maybe 6 or more but I think our last conversation did us in.  When I hung up I thought, jeez, and I’ve not been able to think anything but since. It’s like we just can’t go on.

This reminds me of when I had my first baby and a few weeks later my best friend has an abortion.  She just didn’t want to see me after that and this separation is along similar lines. The difference is I don’t intend to maintain this smaller circle which I think is something widely applicable which is why I am reporting this.

Ending Friendships And “Time Is A Great Master”

Commenting on the comments

Jorge Torres writes on Shocking But True:

I have tried to go to the roots of the people and even knowing them very much inside they suddenly change or make something that does not match so i learn to live here and now, keep the good moments and if i can help i do or if i cant i let them learn Time is a Great Master.

I can only think of one person in my life where this happened. I ran with this gal for awhile (several months) before I became aware of parts of her character I just did not want to be around or feel I could support.
