Outtakes and various other sundries…

crash.jpgVery short discussion of the coming total Solar Eclipse for the NYSE

Holger Roehlig writes:

“Here is the chart of the coming (1.8.2008, date is European style) total Solar Eclipse for the New York Stock Exchange…

I compared with the total solar eclipse for the black Thursday of 1929 and – with some additional work that I won’t discuss publicly – the crash is to be seen…”

hula_hoop.jpg“It’s going to go back to when only rich people can fly,” I told the soldier.  “Remember when it was like that?”  I had just read this article:
Continental becomes latest U.S. airline to cut service

Basically they are grounding planes, laying off employees and raising prices simultaneously.

“It will only stay that way so long,” he said. “And then it will go right back the way it was, just as soon as people quit flying and there are not enough rich people to sustain them.”

“I don’t know about that. Eventually yes but it may be a long time recovering. I don’t think it’s that easy to get your customer back once you lose them. People are funny with their habits. Once they change them, you’ve got a problem.”

Financial Astrology: Pluto, Jupiter, The Galactic Center And The Price Of Gold

November 27th, 2007 @ 6:34 am by Elsa

Outtakes and Various Other Sundries…

gold bar bullionI track the price of gold and have for many years. Today I read that gold was connected to the Galactic Center… I have no expertise in this area but it prompted me to research and I came across this old thread on Kitco.com – the premier site for gold bugs (like me). Astrology and Gold

Here is another thread from a different forum:

LT Astrological Look Out Below, Astronomy on Charts

And then there is this:

Precious Metals Bull Market until 2006-7?

Gold is currently near it’s all time high of $850 per ounce in 1980 but if that figure were adjusted for inflation it would be about $2145 an ounce per this chart – Inflation-Adjusted Gold Price – 1915-2007

Anyone have anything they can add? In what direction do you think the price of gold is headed and why?

Astrology In The Mainstream: New York Post – “China Markets May Have Peaked”

Astrology in the Mainstream

chinaThe New York Post reports: China Markets May Have Peaked

Tracy Byrnes writes:

“According to the Chinese calendar, 2007 is the year of the pig, and in Chinese astrology that means good fortune.

An investor with an interest in astrology might conclude that this means rich rewards await them if they invest in China. But the reality is that when it comes to investing in China, it might take more than luck to make money.

The Chinese market has had quite a run. Michael Breen, a senior analyst at Morningstar, said that the best performing China-focused mutual funds have returned around 95 percent over the last year. And many have returned approximately 25 percent year-to-date.

But questions remain as to whether this current growth is sustainable….”

I love to see astrology in the mainstream news but I wish they would not couch these things. “May have peaked”? Have they peaked or have they not peaked? This is what we want to know. Non-writing like this drives me insane. And yeah, I know I’m pretty close to the sane/insane line but you know. Tell us something real. Tell us something definitive I wish.

street.comThis is a Saturn Neptune headline if I have ever seen one. From TheStreet.com:
Jeremy Grantham: All the World’s a Bubble

Brett Arends writes:

“How high will the Dow go? 15,000? 20,000?

How about 36,000?

While euphoria sweeps stock markets here and worldwide, there are at least a few voices of dissent.

One, unsurprisingly, is legendary value investor Jeremy Grantham — the man Dick Cheney, plus a lot of other rich people, trusts with his money.
-snip-
Grantham says we are now seeing the first worldwide bubble in history covering all asset classes.

Everything is in bubble territory, he says.

Everything.”

Do you agree? Think we’re living in a hologram? Think we’re in denial and that the veil is going to drop?

Saturn In Leo and the Price of Gold: Financial Astrology

April 14th, 2006 @ 7:09 am by Elsa

Outtakes and Various Other Sundries…

Meet Henry Weingarten of the Astrologers Fund.

gold price five yearI have reading this guy for many years. And buying and selling stocks on his advice, for that matter. He has been touting gold for a long time…which is now at a 25 year high and climbing.

Weingarten is a Leo. I don’t know him, but he mentions this now and then. And he is calling for gold to reach $800 an ounce by 2008. And I was thinking about this in relation to the other Saturn in Leo blogs (here, and here). Saturn favors reality and Gold (Leo) has real value, as opposed to money that just keeps coming off a press…or the things you own, but you owe on.

But anyway, Weingarten sells subscriptions, but offers some of his work, a week delayed. See “Wall Street Next Week” which updates Friday mornings. He also writes a newsletter from time to time and it’d be nice to see him get some credit for his work.

Because at this point the mainstream is yakking about gold…they are calling for $1000 an oz and so forth, but Weingarten was waaaaaay ahead of the pack on this one.

So what do you think? Is gold the new platinum? How high will it go?
