Family Dynamics – Can Pisces Be Seen?

Ask the collective…

pisces“Well I feel the same way about you,” I said to a pal. “Nobody seems to know who you are. Your family for example. Why don’t they know you? I mean, they do know you but the things they know are not the important things. They don’t know any of the things that count.”

The Psychology And The Shadow Side Of Families

September 7th, 2011 @ 5:14 am by Elsa

Astrology in Real Life

pluto name paperSpeaking of families where one or more members are invisible, projected upon, or forced to carry the shadow for the group, I am trying to improve my level of understanding and acceptance of this. Because as common as this is, to me it’s a foreign culture.

My family is very overt. Everyone knows who everyone is because every single one of us has a strong Moon Jupiter signature and we will tell you who we are.

Now if you misunderstand us, we will tell you again with our voice raised. We’ll be loud at first and then louder.  If continue to misunderstand, we will probably pick up a brick and hit you with it. Continue reading The Psychology And The Shadow Side Of Families

8th House Shadow Lasagna

April 2nd, 2011 @ 9:33 am by Nota

Notes from the Psychoscape

All this Aries stuff is in my 8th house and I’ve been in a dark mood lately.

…Just in time for the family gathering at Albert’s parent’s house! Yay! Fun times!

Albert’s mom has moon opposite Pluto and some control issues around food to go with it so we were strictly forbidden to “bring anything.” She said she doesn’t want us to have to go to “any trouble.”

Families Who Fall Apart After The Death Of The Matriarch Or Patriarch

March 16th, 2011 @ 9:34 am by Elsa

Astrology in real life

It’s a common phenomena.  The matriarch or the patriarch of a family passes and the family unravels.  I knew of a mother who died leaving her husband and four sons behind.  The men never realized she was what held them together and helped them relate to each other.   When she was lost from the picture each man became an island.

Kenny Rogers – The Great Mediator

February 22nd, 2011 @ 7:45 am by Nota

Hopefully Coherent Ramblings

Yesterday I started telling you about “Cousin Gerard” and our trip to see where Arnold works here.

It was January of ’06. Mercury was conjunct Pluto in Sagittarius and Mars was opposite Jupiter at the time. People were making mountains out of molehills which was hilarious if you were an observer, not so much if you were in the thick of it.

Li-Tian greeted us with gracious intentions. All she had in the refrigerator were three eggs which she whipped up into a large flat omelet and set on a plate in the middle of the table for us all to share. I had just spent a year in China and had grown accustomed to this type of family style eating, Gerard on the other hand was visibly uncomfortable. He shifted back and forth in his seat and declined the offering.

Surreal Family Antics by My Neptune in the 4th

February 22nd, 2011 @ 6:27 am by Nota

Hopefully Coherent Ramblings

Several references to Kenny Rogers around here recently and I am reminded of “Cousin Gerard.”

This was at the tail end of my Pluto to natal Neptune transit and I woke up in Las Vegas. We were staying with my boyfriend’s aunt from his mother’s side of the family, the Chinese side. While we were there his father, the travelling professor phoned to tell us that “Cousin Gerard” from Austria would be joining us. It was a very Wes Anderson-esque extended family comedy situation.

Astrology And Themes That Run In Families

November 8th, 2010 @ 11:12 am by Elsa

Astrology in real life

Many of you know I recently got in contact with my oldest sister after a 20 year laspe.  She’s a double Sagittarius so shares the Jupiter Moon signature that runs through my family.

I found out today that while I had the date and time right on her chart, I had the city wrong.  I thought she was born in California but she was born in the desert like the rest of of us and this did move her chart.  Specifically, it made her a Capricorn rising, like Annalisa and I with, you guessed it, Neptune on the midheaven.

This means all our rising signs are within 9 degrees (1 degree separates Annalisa and I), we all have Jupiter Moons and we all have Neptune at the top of the chart.  Er… just in case anyone thinks anyone is adopted.

What do you have in common with your siblings?

My Father, One weird Scorp. By The Virgo Avenger

Just a male Virgo’s point of view; # Twenty-Four

easter bunny hellMy father was the most off the wall man I have ever met to this date, Please remember to take it in as it was meant to be……All in fun.

My father was not a very big man, this was a discovery however I did not make until I was much older. In my childhood he was the, Boogey man, monster in the closet, noise under the bed, and the one person I knew that could kill me and put me out with the trash.

“You Can’t Turn Blood On Blood…”

June 10th, 2010 @ 12:40 pm by Elsa

Ask the collective

Speaking of deal breakers in relationship, my husband always says that you can’t turn blood on blood. To me, old friends are like blood.

I think it is always a mistake to bad mouth a person’s family, even if the person speaks poorly about their family themselves as these roots are very deep.

When you attack a person’s family, you attack them.  When you attack and criticize their friends, you attack them as well. Same when you attack a person’s spouse.

I haven’t heard anyone else mention this but again, I like to think in terms of a natural chart. This puts Pluto in Capricorn at the top of the chart which has it aspect the bottom of the chart (the roots) by default.

I see people becoming more clannish, even people like me who aren’t inclined in that direction. I think this trend will continue and that people can benefit by excavating their roots and the patterns and psychology they’ve inherited from their families.
